Urwin Martikov looks up at the sound of your voice. "It's you! Thank you so much for helping my family and for getting my deliveries going again! Anything food and drink you need and your rooms are on the house. It's the least I can do." He hands you a menu:
"Beet soup and fresh bread 1sp (or free with room)
Wolf steak 5sp
Purple Grapemash No 3 wine 3cp
Red Dragon Crush wine 3sp"
"Uh... well thank you.." Lae says awkwardly.
"We'll take a corner booth and a jug of each wine if you please... I'll have the soup, breahd, and... uhh... make it two wolf steaks please. Zander, Zennas?"
As you sit, the wine is brought out immediately, followed shortly after by the food. Urwin explains that, due to current circumstances in the country, not many are travelling and therefore he is able to offer you whatever combination of rooms you would like. (i.e. one room each, 1 room for the brothers and 1 for Lae, or all of you in 1 room)

"I'll take my own room please," Lae says, "I'm sure I snore like an orc, haha".
If there is nothing else you need/ want to accomplish this evening, your rooms are ready and you can retire for the night.
Before Lae goes to sleep he will pray to the Raven Queen and thank her for getting the party through their latest ordeal, but also for sending Lae his new staff.
You get a brief vision of the expressionless mask that covers the Raven Queen's face. You hear the voice in your head, almost a hint of a laugh in ir, "I help when I can, my Laeknishendr. I often have trouble reaching through to where you are. There is a great and powerful darkness that seems to block my touch. Keep the faith." The vision is gone.
After a peaceful night of sleep in somewhat comfortable beds, you wake and head down the stairs to breakfast. At a table near the center of the common room, you see two strange creatures. They are unlike any creatures you have yet seen in this country and do indeed appear to have come from elsewhere. One of the creatures is small and blue and resembles frogs that you have seen in Faerun. The other is larger and has what appears to be a hard shell on it's back, resembling turtles that you have seen in Faerun.
Zander tries to discretely keep eyes on the two interesting creatures without giving the impression that he's watching them, and sits at a different table.

-We are all just one failed saving throw away from someone else's fantasy...
Wijen sits at the table seemingly entranced with the ordinary wooden spoon held in his webbed fingers. Passing the spoon to the tortle he insists on the closer inspection. Sipping on a cup of what one can only hope is tea, he looks expectantly at the tortle for a response.
The tortle accepts the spoon, looks it over in one hand and says "It's just a spoon." He says dismissively and starts to hand it back to his traveling companion. He stops just short and says "Wait, is this going to be one of your philosophical lectures again?" He looks at the small frog man next to him with a slightly annoyed look on his face.
Lae ponders on the Raven Queen's words as he drifts off into a half sleep, "Hmm.. I wonder what darkness could be so powerful as to stop the Raven Queen from penetrating through the veil between worlds. Could it have anything to do with that mysterious figure that has been seemingly stalking us? What about the visions I keep having... we need answers... (yawns)... perhaps the morrow will bring more information...."
Lae wakes in the morning feeling surprisingly refreshed and enters the tavern dining area hungry for a full English Faerunian breakfast (two slices of bacon, two sausages, two fried eggs, two hash browns, baked beans, a fried tomato, two slices of buttered toast and black pudding if they have it and a black tea brewed strong). Lae sits heavily on the bench near Zander and asks, "Morning.. sleep okay? I see you're already working (motioning his head in the direction Zander is looking)"
The frog produces a wry smile, "Who is asking this question? Who were you before your conception? Besides, the spoon is well crafted. It follows the nature of the wood. The splits are sealed with a different stain. The work of a master in wuwei. Perfect in its imperfections. Tea ceremony is not complete without examining the implements."
"Fine, I'll take another look at the damn spoon." He says with an exacerbated sigh. Even looking at him from the back, you could still tell he was rolling his eyes. He looks it over and after a few moments says "I guess this spoon could reflect me? At some point it was no longer able to serve its intended purpose and something had to be added to make it usable again." He hands the spoon back to Wijen. "Now can I please finish my breakfast without another debate on the nature of being? There's only so much philosophy a man can take on an empty stomach."
"You hesitate even with this simple spoon and a question? You have a lot more training to do my reptilian friend. You look but don't see. You're one who needs zen."

"A nice steak and a cheap wine will do for us. We're lightweights."
-We are all just one failed saving throw away from someone else's fantasy...
Lae chuckles and goes to sit down in the corner booth.
(I assume the brothers follow?)
Yes, it's safe to assume that.

"Thanks for that, Lae, yes we'll share one."

Lae cocks one of his eye quizzically as he picks up his food with his hands, "Spoons?"
