"And more importantly, why are negative opinions illegal? Seems their opinions were justified, if the simple act of having a negative opinion gets you in stocks."

"The statements 'All will be well' and 'All IS not well' are not mutually exclusive. You can't fix problems no one knows about. There's nothing wrong with optimism, but tying it to ignorance is pure folly. Regardless of your situation, proactive optimism, where you never give up hope while continuing to fight the odds is better than ignoring the problem. All you need are the right tools," Letharran taps his head, "and strong convictions."
(Letharran is now making a whole list of people who are potential candidates.)
"Why don't we consider these people's penance paid and release them now?" Lae says as he moves towards the stockades.
"Perhaps we should be a bit more patient in trying to bring about change to a society. Societies that change overnight typically do so through great violence. Besides, I think what is at the heart of the matter is a lack of Hope in certain individuals. If we can bring hope to said individuals, perhaps such issues would no longer be relevant. If we inspire greater hope in others, that's all the better. That is, after all, why I came here in the first place." Letharran says, trying to calm Lae.
Zander releases his clenched fists that he didn't realize he was clenching. "You have a good point, but in the meantime, are we to just leave these people to suffer while we try to change their view gradually?"

Zander releases his clenched fists that he didn't realize he was clenching. "You have a good point, but in the meantime, are we to just leave these people to suffer while we try to change their view gradually?"
Wijen is still ready to spring in to action, "Perhaps we should talk to those within the stockade. The people within a cycle trying to stay within it don't see the full circle. They want only the heavens and do not see the hells they have made just around the corner."
Lae sighs deeply, "I think I've been hear the longest out of anyone in this party... and I'll rightly say I don't think these people will change over a millennia.. never mind over night. Their philosophies matter not... let's just see if these people seek release.. then do so and be on our way."
The person looks up as much as possible with their head in the stockade and with the heavy mask on it. You hear a masculine voice, "We were simply warning people against The Baron's claims of 'All Will Be Well' and that the festival is merely a distraction to attempt to make us forget the reality of the troubles we have in this town and this country as a whole."
Zander interjects. "We could pick the locks and let them free, but it won't exonerate those interred. This requires a change of mindset. What's the plan? Zennas can pick the locks, but like I said, it would just make them fugitives and put targets on our backs."

Lae tighten's his hand on his staff and readies it to strike if the woman tries to harm any of the group.
"The Baron is convinced 'All will be well' and any statements otherwise are considered rebellion."
"All might be well, but not if you sit around and pretend it already is."

Wijen goes from amusement to stone faced serious. Ready for a fight should it arise.

Wijen nods at Lae
Lae approaches the stockade and says, "I'm sorry your in these... how did this come about?"
"Doesn't seem malicious to me..." Lae remarks loudly.
"No, it does not, but it's against the grain and meets resistance." Zander chimes in.

"There is a time for Wu Wei and a time to make change. So what time is it?" Wijen looks at Lae as he asks
"Time to make a change?" Lae responds with half questioningly.
Wijen quietly asks, "How long of a distraction would you need?"
Zander interjects. "We could pick the locks and let them free, but it won't exonerate those interred. This requires a change of mindset. What's the plan? Zennas can pick the locks, but like I said, it would just make them fugitives and put targets on our backs."
