The eyes seem content to watch as the wagons start rolling again. After another mile or so, you come upon something you would normally consider odd, yet her in Barovia....
An old wooden gallows creaks in a chill wind that blows down from the high ground to the west. A frayed length of rope dances from its beam. The well-worn road splits here, and a signpost opposite the gallows points off in three directions: BAROVIA VILLAGE to the east, TSER POOL to the northwest, and RAVENLOFT/VALLAKI to the southwest.
The northwest fork slants down and disappears into the trees, while the southwest fork clings to an upward slope. Across from the gallows, a low wall, crumbling in places, partially encloses a small plot of graves shrouded in fog.
"Well, that's not creepy at all!" Embir stands on tiptoes to get a better look into the plot without stepping over the wall. "I wonder if there are zombies in there."
Stanimir turns the wagons toward the path leading northwest and the column begins moving again.
As you start down the road, you hear a creaking noise behind you, coming from the gallows. Where there was nothing before, now hangs a lifeless, gray body. The breeze turns the hanged figure slowly, so that it can fix it's dead eyes upon you.
Embir glances back just once before walking a little faster with the others, speaking in a just slightly higher-pitched tone. "So, where are you guys coming from? I haven't been in the area long myself, but the scenery is pretty nice, and the people are too."
The gallows stand atop a rotting platform 5 feet high, with wooden stairs leading up to it. As you approach, the smell of rotting flesh assault your nose. Lae, the body you see appears to be your own.
“Ah!” Lae stumbles back in surprise and raises the back of his meaty palms to rub his eyes. Swallowing a lump in his throat, he stops rubbing and looks upon the swinging body once more.
Lae shutters and says to Zander.. “Don’t y.. you see... who.. who’s hanging in those gallows?”
Lae feels for the torc around his neck. He grasps it, then becomes infuriated by the sight of his body swinging from the gallows. He lifts his left hand, palm open, facing the gallows and a Flame-like, white hot radiance descends towards the swinging body.
“Neither will your ear drums,” Lae chuckles.
True enough! Let's move, shall we?
-We are all just one failed saving throw away from someone else's fantasy...
“Already moving!” Lae says as he starts forward away from the yellow eyes.
Zander keeps his bow trained on the eyes on the wood line as they walk away, ready to fire if anything attacks.

Lae looks at Embir with disgust.. “Zombies! Puppets used by petty blasphemers!”
Embir shrugs. "Still kinda cool! Dangerous and disrespectful though it may be." She steps off her toes and looks both ways. "Sooo, which way to go?"
“Stanimir?”
Stanimir turns the wagons toward the path leading northwest and the column begins moving again.

OOC: Does he still see himself?
(Yes, it is still there and it appears and smells real. Embir, where are you in the marching order?)
" hey whats the matter, not afraid of your own shadow are you ?" Starts trying to hold back some laughter.
(If you are looking at the gallows, Necros, all you see is the body of some random, normal-looking Barovian, just grey.)
What's wrong, Lae? Zander tenses his hold on his bow.
-We are all just one failed saving throw away from someone else's fantasy...
(I'm like, off to the side, more walking next to the wagons, on the edge of the group I think.)
Lae shutters and says to Zander.. “Don’t y.. you see... who.. who’s hanging in those gallows?”
