In the nearest niche to the entrance, you find a small, mummified yellow hand with sharp claws (you recognize it as a goblin hand) on a loop of rope. The niche to the right of the ramp holds a hag's severed finger. The niche to the left of the ramp holds a 6" tall wooden figurine of a mummy, its arms crossed over its chest.
The ramp itself descends at a 20 degree angle into murky water then ends at a rusty portcullis.
No. You smash the hand to bits. The tunnel goes 10 feet then turns right (north) for 15 feet, then turning left (west) once more and entering into a room. There are 4 small cells and one larger cell along each wall. Rusty shackles remain in most of them and bones litter the floors. The larger one in the south wall seems to have possibly been used recently. The chanting is louder and seems to be coming from the south, though now, among the chanting, you hear a bit of a howling/wailing sound.
Necros draws his sword and readys eldritch blast in his right hand. "Guys lets be careful. We could be walking in on a summoning or a banshment, or something worse yet. So if we have to run, then run. their is no honor in death."
So the 2 rooms (the jail-ish room and the room with the niches) are both seeming dead ends, the chanting seems to be coming from a room between, connected somehow to both.

Lae whispers, “hmm though something would have happened if I destroyed one of these relic looking objects”. He shrugs and quietly moves on.

Anybody else catching that howling noise? Is that our monster? Are these chanters summoning it, or trying to banish it?

“Hrmmm..” Lae drums his fingers on the top of his staff as he looks around the room with the niches for a some lever, or something of the sort.
