Due to the fact that you are an ocean dweller you don't really know a lot about these but from your knowledge of water creatures you guess that based on their teeth, they are carnivores.

Jut will look for animal remnants around the waters edge. Perhaps the trail ends here. Perception 4. Unfortunately being newly free fills his mind more than the task at hand.
Whisper pulls back from the water at Kruphal's advice. "I wonder how they taste," she says. The danger lurking under the surface reminds her of the curtain of trees and bushes potentially hiding other threats. She scans the foliage around the pool and waterfall.
Kurik stared into the water. "Sharp fish look like good food if we can get them." He continues to watch the fish and see if he knows anything about them.
"They may be thinking likewise." Kruphal tells the tabaxi. He then steps forward, addressing the fish rather than the party.
"Creatures of the fresh water, dost thou know the way where thy prey lives?"
Emissary of the Sea
Aquatic beasts have an extraordinary affinity with your people. You can communicate simple ideas with beasts that can breathe water. They can understand the meaning of your words, though you have no special ability to understand them in return.
Jut had seen slave's minds snap and wondered if the stranger talking to the fish was ok, but his instincts were clearly not good in this place so he slowly backs away from the water a good 10 feet.
"We are now able to get food and water. I think we should gather things. I noticed a few items of wood that could be fashioned into bows and arrows or other useful items for shelter or protection. We can scan nearby to see what other items might help us survive. Who wants to go back and gather some of the wood from the beach area with me? I"m assuming we can bring thing back to this area unless we want to scout for a better place to make camp. What are your thoughts?"
Kurik, You actually recognize these fish from tales told in your village. They are small fish that hunt in schools and can strip the meat from the bones of much larger creatures in mere minutes. They are especially attracted to splashing water and the scent of blood.
Whisper, you see a dark space behind the waterfall, what could perhaps be a cave? You also notice a number of trees holding a redish/green fruit that you have never seen before. They are almost pear shaped but bigger with a tougher outer skin.
Caldon, you start to gather some wood and other things lying on the jungle floor that may come in handy. Nothing special but wood for a fire is still important.
Kruphal, You speak to the fish and they begin to show a level of excitement as they thrash around in the shallows. It seems they are indicating that their prey comes to drink or swim and as soon as they get too far into the water they attack. Their prey rarely ever get a chance to escape.

"Hmm, so they sit and wait..." Kruphal thinks, which seemingly contacts into the heads of those nearby. He then leaves the fish to their business. "May thy prey be sluggish and aloof so thou can prey on them." He tells the fish aloud. He then looks to the others, Jut in particular. "The grey-skinned one is right. We can use this place to hunt those that come to drink here. The inhabitants of the pool have enough to feed and populate the area, so enough must come that are caught and escape."
Booker follows the others, he says boy much as his voice is loud and rough sounding. Though he does look into the water to see they fish but decided he best stay away from then.
As others are looking for wood, gathering supplies and checking the traps. He stays by the waters edge but keeps and eyes on Whisper. As she starts to head to the waterfall, he can't help but watch, wondering what she is doing.
Having his two coconuts, he seems glad to have them, but he feel better when he finds a think long log he can swing around.
The fruit, when pierced has a orangish/yellow meat inside with a tangy fruity smell. It appears edible. (it's a mango, you just have never seen them before)
Kruphal, You notice a bunch of small fish with extremely sharp teeth extending from their mouths in the water of the pool.

She tosses it to the lizardfolk near her...Kurik maybe? She isn't sure on his name just yet. "What do you think of this?" she says.
Much more interesting is the possible cave she spotted. She edges around the pool to the back of the waterfall to get aa closer look.
