The rattling of the gate echoes through the street, as does your voice. A few houses down a door opens, someone peeks out briefly and then retreats quickly back inside. You file into the yard, one under the window and on either side of the door. Sariel hangs back by the gate. Dori winds up and kicks at the door but it withstands the strike. Sizan/Yazara reaches up and attempts to open the locked window but under the pressure of the situation is unable to work his pick into the lock correctly..
If anyone is in there, they definitely know you're coming now.
Sizan squints at Sariel, but offered little more than a passing nod in thanks before moving on. Later, he suppresses a curse when attempting to open the window, though either hearing or seeing Dori have trouble nearly teases one out anyways. Rather than time his attempt to try again, Sizan slinks off to circle around the building in hopes of finding another entrance. If he can find another window or door without arriving back at the front from the other side or finding trouble, he waits until he hears the sound of conflict before making anymore attempts at getting inside.
Stealth: 24. (If needed for maintain/re-rentering stealth)
Sariel by the gate, comes up 10 feet and keeps an eye out around the yard and the entrance. "Dori. Knock. Politely. Please."I say with a bit of hush to my voice.
"That was a knock." Dori offered, "But this..." Pulling the greataxe from his back and clutching it in both hands. "This is ringing the bell. " Bringing the greataxe high over head before dropping it down into the door.
Ok - Sizan: As you round the side of the building the elevation rises steeply up to the front foor (you are all currently at the rear of the building in the lane - sorry I didn't clarify that). Around the front you see a door and window. You deftly pop the lock on the window, slide it quickly up and drop inside. You find yourself in an office that looks like it hasn't seen much use in a while. There is a desk and chair, both covered in dust and cobwebs. To one side are two more doors, open, which seem to lead into more, smaller offices. To the other is kind of a foyer with two doors - one outside, and one (closed) leading farther in the building. As you enter a couple of rats skitter across the floor. Also, above the doors in the 3 inside offices are small iron bells, connected to strings that lead out through one of the walls to the interior of the building.
Dori: Your axe crunches through the center of the door (Which was partially damaged by your kick), leaving a gaping hole. You reach inside, find the lock and open it. You all file into a large, L-shaped room which bends around to your right. The center of the large room rises up open to the floor above. There are more crates all over the room. Tables and chairs have been carelessly tossed across the floor. The corpses of a dozen men lie along the walls, their rapiers and daggers lying nearby. On the north side of the area, stairs rise to an open level above.

Gargan
As Dori swings at the door Gargan briefly suppresses a dull ache at back of his head that had grown as they travelled from the Skewered Dragon. Blinking away the distraction he refocuses and follows Dori inside to find the bodies littering the room. Gripping his staff, tipped with its arcane crystal, he moves over to the wall to examine the corpses.
So long as it did not seem necessary to proceed in continued silence, Sizan leaves the alarms alone to pick over the smaller offices. He largely sought signs of recent and hurried activity, but would just as well linger for a moment more if a misplaced document or two catches his interest. Once satisfied he considers hunting down the rat for a moment, only to immediately silence the thought. He instead turned his attention on traveling deeper into the interior (presumably through the foyer), hugging whatever wall or cover he could along the way.
Giggling at the antics of Dori, the tabaxi follows the rest through the now open door. He will move over with Gargan and check out the dead bodies to see how long they have been dead and if any of them have a neck tattoo or flaming red hair. If there are any cool looking daggers laying around he'll pick one of them up as well.
Sizan: You search through the 3 offices but there is little there. However in the drawer of the desk in the large office you do find an unused Paper Bird. As you are searching you hear a loud smash from the other side of the closed door leading to the inside of the building. You emerge from the door into the building into a large two story warehouse. There is a small landing on the second floor that extends around the west and north walls, lined with a railing. You look out into the space open to the floor below, and a slight sense of panic comes over you as you are suddenly aware of what's about to happen. You try to warn them but it was too late.
(Scooby Doo rewind)
Everyone else files into the building (Sariel was hanging back but I'm assuming he'll come up and enter as well). Cloudfur scans the corpses and does indeed see one with a neck tattoo, but no red hair. As Cloudfur bends down to retrieve one of the daggers and Gargan kneels to look over one of the corpses, four arrows come sailing towards them from the other side of the building, one towards each of you, all hitting.. Dori takes 6, Gargan 5, Sariel 4, and Cloudfur 7.
You turn and see that 4 humanoid, bird-like creatures with beaks and black feathers, donned in black leather armor, were hiding behind the crates and overturned tables, all pointing their shortbows at you and reloading new arrows.
Initiative:
Dori 19
Gargan 9
Sariel 20
Cloudfur 7
Sizan 9
Sizan, as a result of your stealth roll you've managed to get in through the front without anyone noticing, so I'll give you an attack on them in the surprise round as well.
I'll add tokens when I get to work. Left is the bottom floor, right is the top. Sizan is on the landing on the second floor along the north wall just outside the office door. The rest of you entered through the door near the bottom on the lower floor and would be somewhere in that area. Three Kenku are behind the group of crates/tables in the middle of the floor, one is behind the creates along the north wall.
Sizan pockets the Paper Bird on his way out. Realizing it to be too late, Sizan immediately pulls a dart from the fold of his sleeves while stepping up briefly to the northern edge of the parapet, and flings it at the base of the skull of the one Kenku closest to him(for all intents and purposes). He hardly waits to see if it properly lands or not before slinking to the right of the parapet and going prone behind what appeared to be a crate in the corner.
Sizan: Since the one at the back is basically underneath you, you fire at the creature in the center. You miss the back of skull but the dart does land squarely in it's shoulder. It squaks in pain and glares back up at you as you duck behind the crate.

The arrow hits and Dori glances down to where it managed to find a way through his chain mail. "Yes! Hahah." Ripping the arrow free and dropping it to the ground before glancing up and spotting the creatures. "Where is the beautiful, red haired man named Floon!"
The goliath grasping for a hand axe at his side as he takes off toward the nearest creature, greataxe dragging against the ground behind him in his other hand.
(I think I can make it just short of the cluster of boxes south of k2 and k3, west of cloudfur)
(OOC - I just realized that everyone goes before me so I will probably not cast thunderwave since it would end up hitting my teammates too if they've engaged in melee soI deleted my post and will wait till everyone else has posted before I figure out what to do)
(Based on Dori's action, it would hit him if you came from the front. You do have enough movement to get to the right of K3, which would hit all 3 of them and no one else).

Sariel will move towards the crates near Dori. He will look at one of the kenku (whichever I can see the best, or if I can aim K3), and points his finger at one of them. He will cast Toll the Dead for 5Damage
Seeing how the kenku are in cover and with bows, Sariel switches over to his shield for more cover behind the crates.
"Careful, you guys. Keep one alive as they may have information about Floon." He stares at Dori. "Please."

Gargan
As the arrow hits him in the back Gargan lets out a loud snarl. He turns immediately seeing Dori and Sariel advancing and logic would dictate that he find cover and support them with his magic. But anger has taken him and so he sees only one course of action. Moving past Cloudfur he makes along the wall until he is level with the three assailants behind the central crates and unleashes his draconian heritage towards them, acid streaking from his maw and spraying across the room violently.
Breath Weapon attack 30ft line across the three central Kenku - 10 acid damage. Dex Save DC 12 for half damage.
(I believe I can make it so I can breath horizontally across the three of them)
(Yikes! My bad. I missed the baddies go last part.)
Sizan gets to his only to duck back towards the north, and hopefully far out of sight for an Kenku. He almost freezes as things become all the more chaotic down below from jets of acid and thunder. But the man was a professional. One that got /exactly/ what he bargained for, and more...
Maybe next time he'll try to find other agents in the future though.
