"There--"Is about as much as Sizan gets out before being cut-off by the body hitting the door. "Is..."He finishes after a moment of silence, and then returned to making sure the Kenku was secure. He casts a brief look over to Sariel seeming to consider something for a moment. The moment passes however with him standing up and dusting his hands clear. "Unless your intent is to have the City Watch hunting you down, I strongly suggest you don't even try." He says in passing as he drew his Short Sword and goes to find a proper storage closet. The Kenku did mention them -- the zhents -- having thrown 'him' in one.

The paintings exhibit exquisite craftsmanship. They are decently sized - maybe 24" x 30", and look like they were painted by the same artist, probably as part of a collection. There is detailed scenery of each city, portraying each probably in the early summer at midday. You would guess that each one is worth somewhere between 50-100 gold.
Luskan looks like it probably would have pre-spellplague before it fell into ruin. It is now a gang-infested shadow of it's former self, with no actual functioning government or leader.
Silverymoon is a beautiful city, bearing strong resemblance to an Elven settlement. It is well known for magic being prevalent in their culture, even being used to build and maintain their infrastructure. It is currently led by High Mage Methrammer Aerasume - a half-elf fighter and wizard, and the High Lord of the Silver Marches.
Baldur’s Gate is located south of Waterdeep and similar in size, also being a port city. The current monarch is Grand Duke Dillard Portyr, who leads the Baldurian Parliament.
You cannot pinpoint any connection to Waterdeep, the Zhentarim, Xanather, or the Neverembers aside from the one obvious link. If there were such a connection it would likely take some significant research to discover it.
Cloudfur: The silver bars wouldn't pose much of a problem if each of you took two of them. The paintings are a different story. They aren't huge .. but they are paintings and they are mounted in frames. You could remove them from the frames and roll them up to make them more portable. There would be a small risk of damaging them if you did that.
As you are looking over the loot, you hear a faint clatter, which you think came from the direction of the stairs.

Sizan Sidrosin
So long as Cloudfur handed the bars to his friends alone, Sizan brushes off the antics. But any attempt to foist any upon him is met with a warning glare before returning to his search. If as he goes along he catches the noise as well, he'll redirect his focus towards uncovering the source. Otherwise, he keeps up his search for a storage closet on the 1st Floor, snatching up and stashing away once more one of his lost darts.
I don't know if this is needed or not to find another closet, but just in case:
You walk to the other side of the stairs and see a door hanging loosely on broken hinges. When you swing it open and look inside, the cramped chamber beyond smells strongly of sour fish and vinegar. It is filled with discarded ropes, canvas tarpaulins, and splintered wood from smashed barrels. At the back of the room you can hear staggered breathing coming from underneath one of the tarpaulins. You pull on it to reveal a man crouched over, marred by grime and the lingering stench of rancid pickled herring. He winces at the light, obviously not having seen it for quite a while. Not matching Floon's description you can only assume this is Raener. Indicating you are friendly, you help him through the clutter and out into the open room.
"Thank you for your help. It has been a frightening couple of days. Who are you?"
Upon hearing a new voice speak Gargan looks up from the paintings with a look of curiosity on his face, wondering who it may be that has been uncovered elsewhere in the warehouse. He stands up from examining the paintings and moves round to get a clear view of who it is who has been found and upon seeing the fellow assumes it must be Raener. He replies to the fellow “We are friends of Mr Geddarm.” He says simply.
"Friend to some."Sizan corrects, nose still wrinkled from the scent coming from the door. Soon after aiding Renaer out, Sizan closes the door behind him. "From what I gather, this Mr. Geddarm requested these fellows to find a shared friend of yours. One Floon something or other."Sizan says says, finally sheathing his weapon. "I presume he was the one taken however during the scuffle. As for myself, Ser Renear, I am here for you." He looks Renear over closely, making sure their were no immediate injuries that were in need of treating.
"I hope you can forgive the late arrival." He places a hand over his chest and gives a slight bow. "... I do not suppose you have any idea why they were after you, and I assume your friend? Or from your perspective, where they might've immediately absconded with him?"

Raener takes a deep breath and pauses for a moment, gathering himself. He replies "Floon was collateral damage in this I'm afraid - it was me they were after. Unfortunately for him these Xanathar Kenku aren't all that bright, and they hauled Floon off thinking he was me. This is really a horrible situation - Floon is .. well he's kind of an idiot but he has a good heart and he's a good friend."
He looks around and thinks again for a moment, and then: "As to why they were after me, well that's a bit of a mix-up as well. The Zhentarim thinks that my father embezzled a large amount of gold while he was Open Lord, and that he hid the dragons somewhere in the city. They think they can find it by using an artifact called the Stone of Golorr, which was in the hands of the Xanathar Guild until recently. Apparently, someone stole it from them. The Zhents thought I knew something about all of this, but I don’t. My father and I haven’t spoken in years. Anyway I'm guessing the Xanathar Guild thinks the same thing and came here to kidnap me from the Zhentarim, hoping to get the stone back.”
"The important thing right now is we need to find Floon before something horrible happens to him. Can you help?"
Just as Raener finishes his sentence you hear a crash from upstairs followed by someone blowing a large whistle. You look up and see 3 City Watch guards and a captain come running in from the offices above. Shortly after a parade of guards come in through the same door you did, weapons drawn. The captain quickly scans the scene, looks at you and yells out "Halt there! Who are you and what happened here?"
As the captain asks what happened Gargan turns to him and holds up his hands to show that the group presents no danger and says “Hail Captain, we here are a group of humble adventurers whom have come in search of lost fellows on behalf of Mr Volothamp Geddarm. We have discovered Raener Neverember, son of the Lord of Neverwinter, just this moment and ensured his safety from those who took him. These three Kenku attacked us without warning and so we were forced to defend ourselves, as our wounds do attest.” Gesturing towards the fallen Kenku as he does so. “The rest of these souls we found in the state you see them now. We pray that we have not wronged this day for all we sought was the rightful return to safety for Mr Geddarms companions, nothing more. We have in fact apprehended one of our assailants and we gladly present him to you for questioning as the rightful protectors of our fair city.” He finishes with a final gesture in the direction of Yazara’s captured Kenku.
(Raener appears somewhat shaken, but uninjured. The Zhentarim hadn't really started in on him yet and the invading Xanathar basically ignored him because they thought Floon was him).
The captain walks down the stairs and up to the group. As soon as he comes close enough to see Raener his eyes widen. "Good evening sir - are you alright? Is this .. creature's story true?"
Raener nods his head and replies: "To you as well Captain Staget. I was hidden in the storage room during the actual fight so I don't know those details but yes, these lads have been the instrument of my release. These Kenku arrived after we had been captured by the Zhentarim, intent on dragging me out of here. They took someone else by mistake. He is likely underground in one of their hideouts by now."
Captain Staget squints his eyes and looks the group over, not about to disagree with the statement of a noble. "Well, it seems you all are keeping fortunate company today. I would be surprised to hear if this was the intended outcome of this little intervention, and I shudder to think of the events and series of crimes that led up to it. Regardless, as long as Raener vouches for you, those acts, and this one, will be .. overlooked."
The captain is a smart man - looking around the scene it is obvious what happened and he certainly not sorry to have the two gangs eliminate a few of their members for him. He gives Gargan a folded piece of paper with some writing on it. "However, you will do yourself well to be mindful of the law in this city and the consequences for breaking it. This is the Code Legal - a document all citizens and visitors of this city should be very familiar with. It is not by any means a comprehensive list of our laws but it does cover the highlights. I recommend being on your best behaviour - not all constables are as nice as I am."
Raener extends his hand to shake the Captain's: "Thank you Hyustus - I can assure these people have good intentions."
"Welcome", he says. "Now lads, let's get this place cleaned up and take this one away for questioning!" He turns to start assisting his men.
Though Yazara's first instincts were to go for his swords, he never gets as far before an all too familiar whistling noise reaches his ears. What followed after is Yazara's best impression of an obilesk. Because though he turned to regard the guards, what little of expression can be seen never shifts from neutral during the exchange. There is but the smallest break in the act. A twitch at the mention of "humble adventurers" followed by a sidelong glance to Gargan. But eyes are curtly set forward without another word.
"I believe that is our cue to leave then. A good evening to you, Captain Staget. I hope the rest is less filled with trouble for you and your men." Yazara states, and with a bow he starts to leave after Cloudfur. But then he stops and looks to Raener. "As for your prior request, milord. Consider it done. And I hope too that the remainder of your evening is less eventful." And with that, he walks out, assuming no one accosts the group further than that.

Gargan nods to the Captain in thanks and unfolds the paper he has been handed, skimming it over. After a few seconds he stops and puts it away in his pack before turning to Raener. "I am Gargan, of far away Tymanther and the clan Jurnixus, glad to make your acquaintance, and to have been of assistance." He says extending his hand in greeting to the young lord. Seeing that he is shaken up by the events that have brought him to here he offers the man a little company. "Might we accompany you to somewhere a little more savoury?"
"I mean it is apparent that Xanthar's gang took Floon.....but where? It is not like we can just go knocking on every door asking for Xanthar like a door to door sales being.....or can we? Also if the City Watch has started to take an interest in our affairs perhaps we should be a bit more discreet...." and he'll stroke his chin as he thinks.
Raener walks from the building's rear door and out to the street, with the rest of you in tow. On his way, he bends down to collect a rapier and dagger from the floor. "Your guess is as good as mine at this point. It's rumoured the Xanathar Guild operates out of the sewers. Did the Kenku have any information?"
