Flip finds nothing but straw. Give me an investigation check!
Daar moves into tge kitchen looking high and low. Then moving some fallen thatch from the roof cave in she discovers a book bound in leather and locked with an odd sort of red stone on the cover. Beside it looks like a rusted looking set of knives all damaged from the cave in and lack of cleaning. She also discovers a moldering corpse in the room slumb over in a chair near the extinguished hearth. It's in tattered robes and looks positively ancient!

Sometimes a Nat 1 tells a better story than a Nat 20 ever could.
Daar will give the book a look over, checking out the stone and the lock, and looking to see if its locked magically or if it has any runes or symbols on it.
"Grapefruit. Scarecrow. Dagger. Knife. Apple sauce. 123456. Cooldude84. This thing is locked magically. Need some kind of password maybe. Magic69. Tomato. Butts. Apricot."
Im assuming nine of those worked. So Daar just pries at it for a minute.
Flip will take a moment to clear out a spot on the floor before casting locate object, holding a small forked twig in his hands and closing his eyes tightly trying to picture the carving knife based on the description given to him.
The twig pulls Flip to the scarecrow and when Grim unmasks it they find yet another ancient looking corpse much like the one in the chair by the kitchen fire. The twig just keeps pulling Flip to the scarecrow's chest...

Flip will hold his dagger far away from his body, scrunching up his nose high in the air as he starts to cut into the body without looking at it... with his other hand covering his nose and mouth trying not to throw up. "Let me know when you can see the knife Daar..."
Plunging the dagger into the skeletal frame of tge scarecrow Flip roots around the dry husk finding a carving knife moments later. It's weirdly ornate with symbols on the hilt and blade. Runes of some kind similar to the spellbook Daar found in the kitchen. Could black magic have had a hand in this?
Finding the book and the knife the party realizes their task is complete. Do they return to the village or investigate the farm further?
