Penris watches as Kip lets his sling loose. “Did you get it?” she asks anxiously. She shudders again. “Snakes. Gah. Krythlynn, I hope that’s the only snake we see up here!” she yells to the sky.
Penris reaches for the stone in her pouch, warming her fingers around it and smiling smugly. "Thanks, Krythlynn! I knew you wouldn't let me down!" she yells. "Well, now that that's settled, let's keep moving, shall we?"
Penris is not bothered by Krythlynn’s words at all. “I’m sure that would do the trick, Krythlynn,” she says seriously. “Who would disobey you? Certainly not a lowly, slimy, disgusting snake, that’s for sure!” she says confidently. “We just need to keep our eyes open as we go. Who knows what other slithery things live in this muck?”
Vanyel listens to all of this with amusement before speaking up. "If you take care of the snake please just kill it, they are very tasty when cooked properly." He watched his companions hoping they would react humorously.

Penris looks at Vanyel in horror. “You - you - you’ve eaten a snake?!” she asks slightly hysterically. She shudders, then pauses. “What do they taste like?”

Penris looks as Kip yells. "It could be a torch or candle. Or it could be some swamp monster with a light up dangly bit to lure unsuspecting travelers to their doom!" she says theatrically. "I'm not sure, though," she says, narrowing her eyes to see better.

"it is probably just Bubug playing a trick on us" Kip will say as he leans forward as far as he can with one hand holding on to the bugbears head and the other over his eyes as he squints to see (Using inspiration as well!)
Vanyel isn't able to make out what is holding the light, Kip honestly thinks it might actually be Bubug, Penris, it doesn't look like anything is attached to the light. That being said, it still moves in and out around the trees and brush.
Vanyel squints in concentration and before he even realizes it finds himself starting to head towards the light, curious what it could be. "Let us go check it out."

Penris grips Vanyel's shoulder a bit tighter. "Be careful, Vanyel - I don't trust whatever it is. If it was friendly, it would have come right over to us, not hidden in the dark like some - some - hiding jerk!" she says. "I can get down and try to sneak a bit closer to it," she offers with a grimace on her face. Crawling around in the muck wasn't on the top of her to-do list, but sometimes sacrifices were necessary.

Kip will try to leap from the bugbears shoulders to any nearby trees... hoping to move from tree to tree trying to get close to the light and stay out of the mud.

Kip would quickly load a bullet into his sling and let it fly towards the snake.

Penris watches as Kip lets his sling loose. “Did you get it?” she asks anxiously. She shudders again. “Snakes. Gah. Krythlynn, I hope that’s the only snake we see up here!” she yells to the sky.
There is a plop as the bullet plunges through the mud. The snake slithers away faster.
Krythlynn's voice comes out of Penris' stone. "Eek! A snake?! Really?? They are slimy and gross!
I don't want to have my champion harassed by any stinky snakes. Next time you see one, point your stone at it; and I'll get rid of it for you."
"Wait, you can do that!?!" Hope says through Kip's stone.
"Can you attack creatures to help us through the stone?" Kip will ask, pulling the stone from his vest and holding it in his hand.
Penris reaches for the stone in her pouch, warming her fingers around it and smiling smugly. "Thanks, Krythlynn! I knew you wouldn't let me down!" she yells. "Well, now that that's settled, let's keep moving, shall we?"
Hope replies; "I can't!" After a moment Krythlynn says; "Well, I... I was actually just going to ye... yell at it until... until it leaves."
Penris is not bothered by Krythlynn’s words at all. “I’m sure that would do the trick, Krythlynn,” she says seriously. “Who would disobey you? Before Vanyel can answer, a small glowing light is noticed moving ahead in the swamp, among the thick overgrowth and fog.
"What's that!" Kip will yell as he points towards the glowing light. His tail twitching with excitement.
"Could it be a torch or candle?" Vanyel asks as we squints to look more carefully.

(as a player I think it is a wisp... as a character it is totally bubug... that jerk)

Penris looks down and realizes that the mud is far up Vanyel's legs; has to be close to waist deep for you.
