Garth was slightly dumbstruck as he saw the zombies beginning to climb over each other in their attempt to get up the stairs, clearly not expecting that level of ferocity from the waterlogged meat sacks.
"Come on Rad, might be easier to stem the flow if we whack them while they're trying to bridge that gap, than it would be if they get a foothold on our side of the steps." He made his way down the steps to meet the zombies. "We don't even have to kill, or whatever it is that you do to zombies, just knock them into the hole we made earlier!"
(OOC: Rolls for attack are 1d20+ your Hit/DC modifier next to the weapon you're using. The damage is just to the right of that. For each attack, an attack/accuracy roll is made and then the damage one. If you're going to shove an enemy, that's an athletics check.)
Garth goes to shove the zombie back onto its fellows beyond the stairs with his shield, but the zombie plants its feet and resists the armored fighter.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Looks like it's gonna be up to me." Rad states before charging down and attempting to shove a zombie off the stairs with a well placed shield bash. 13 Athletics.
The zombie that Rad attempted to shove with his shield was unmoved, and even managed to swipe at the Cleric with a large hand but was blocked by the shield of Law.
The zombie that Garth tried to shove easily knocked the shield to the side and bashed him with two hands in an extremely impressive show of strength, (crit) for 13 damage. It stepped over the unconscious form of Garth and moved into position behind Rad as another zombie struggled to make it onto the stairs.

Twig stood stunned for a moment as she watched Garth get knocked out by the zombie and then burst into action. She ran over to the crossbow, picked it and the bolts up, then ran back toward the top of the stairs before leveling the weapon at the zombie that had brutally attacked her new friend.
The crossbow was unfamiliar in Twig's hands and she fumbled the weapon as the string snapped forward. The bolt narrowly missed Rad and embedded itself into the head of the zombie that was climbing up the stairs, launching it back into the swarming mass of bodies.
(OOC: I rolled for a random target out of 8, including you guys, to hit with the stray bolt. You got lucky! Just an fyi, it is anyone's turn in the party. You don't need to keep any sort of order. So now it is either Rad or Cor, no particular order. Hope you have better luck than Twig.)

"Are you sure you can fire those things? You don't seem to be very good at it." Rad yells out before attempting to kick the zombie off the stairs. Athletics17
Rad's front-kick took the zombie square in the chest. The kick lifted the monster off its feet and flung it through the air and into the mound of zombies beyond. (Think 300 'This Is Sparta!' kick)

Cor moves to the railing directly in front of the remaining zombie by Rad and, taking a dagger in each hand, let's them both fly. The one from his right hand took the zombie directly in the chest, while the one thrown from his left hand whiffed right by the zombie's head and clattered to the ground between Garth's legs.
The zombie that had previously knocked out Garth and currently had a dagger sticking out of its chest turned and ran directly at Twig, but not before Rad slammed his hammer onto his shield, creating a sort of magical gong sound (Toll the Dead) and shouted "Oh no you don't!" 13(Ignore this roll) (Damage from Toll the Dead: 9
The zombie threw its head back and screamed as the sound echoed in its head, but it kept running straight at Twig. When it reached her, it leaped into the air, grabbed her shoulders with its hands, and slammed its head into hers, dealing 7 damage.
Distracted by the enraged zombie, now clearly showing signs of the damage it has taken, the party just realized that another zombie had climbed up onto the stairs.
The zombie moaned more, clutching its head, as the bell rings in its ears. It continues moaning even after the sound stops, though it seems to be barely on its feet.
Twig's thrust entered through the zombie's throat and severed its spine before being cleanly withdrawn. The zombie crumpled to the ground, lifeless once again.
The zombie at the stairs ran up to Rad and threw himself at the large Cleric, but couldn't find any weak points in his armor. Unfortunately for the adventurers, another zombie had made its way in through the window. You can also see some hands scrabbling for purchase on the wood of the stairs, but they haven't quite managed to climb up just yet.
