"Our preliminary scouting hasn't found any threats through the route, but there may be dangers deeper in, where we were unable to safely scout; without giving away information to the Merrow. Prepare for danger in case." The officer says.
Neither his unceasing hunger nor crippling exhaustion can dampen Flayr's spirits for long. "Well," He says cheerfully, scratching Caspian under the chin, "I'll be sure to let Kabarr go first."
"Yes, various magical objects that will aid you in this tasks; such as rings that will aid in resisting the elements of the deep, much like those potions you drank before. Amulets will be provided to deal with the volcanic heat; though avoid directly touching lava if possible." The officer replies.
"In the case that the resistance is too great, fall back to 'The City'. This is not meant to be a loud mission, we need our friend here..." Motioning towards the fish man. "...to get past their lines and get word out of our situation."
Flayr poses theatrically. "I'll see this mission through, whether it ends in fire or high water." He pauses. "Unless there are crocodiles involved. Gods, I can't stand crocodiles." He shivers and begins muttering to himself.
The officer looks wide eyed for a moment. "Considering the depths, the crocodiles that live down here..." He pauses for a moment, looking to his fellow officers and then back to you, with worry in his eyes. "If you see a crocodile, and believe me you will know when you see it, do us all a favor and leave it be. 'The City' (Which is the Common translation of the sub's name) has enough to deal with without colossal creatures attacking it."
"If you find any, they are likely hibernating in the warmth of the volcano. If any were awake and near; the merrow would be using them against us already... Or be half dead from the beast." The officer laughs to himself at the thought of the beast tearing apart the enemy fleet; scratching his bearded chin. "No, there is no immediate danger of the crocodiles, not unless you find and wake one. Please don't do that."
The meeting wraps and you get to know more about the task and the man joining you. His name is Quoral and he is of an aquatic race known as the Sahuagin. The mission is the follow the mapped, and unmapped, tunnels of the underwater volcano. It is believed that the tunnels are empty of merrow or other dangers; due to the extreme heat, which you have been granted amulets to resist against. You have time to prepare any magic spells, rituals, or any other form of preparation needed; the mission starts when everyone is ready.
(We can fill in any additional prep later if needed.)
You find yourself once again standing before a door with only the ocean beyond; hoping that your magic items hold true. To your relief they do, as the cold and pressure of the ocean depths feel like a gentle and warm swim in a lake.
Before you the water opens up so far, yet you can't even see the surface of the ocean. Whether it is night out, or simply too deep, there is nothing but darkness grasping at the edge of 'The City's' lights. Darkness and combat.
From above to below, to all around, you see merrow and aquagnomes slaying each other. Tens of thousands, if not hundreds, in full and bloody combat. Quoral motions for you all to follow, as he heads towards the aquatic volcano; hoping to avoid notice from the enemy.

“Not concerned with lava, personally. It is more about those who choose that as their home. None the less I am willing to assist wherever possible.”

"Very good." The officer says, standing more proud and at attention, in response. "What say the rest of you?"
Rolen: (to everyone) "Is there a backup plan if anything goes wrong?"
