"Sure." Krogdar says to Kabarr in response. "No payment needed. Be good just to have another person to train with." He rubs his slightly swollen hands with a smile on his face.
(my bad, i couldn't think of how to rp the workout.)
Rolen has been training in the workout area, since he finished reading those books in the library. he started with exercising with some weights, but moved onto practicing with his sword and shield. he has been so focused on his personal training he hasn't noticed Kabarr, Gnook, or Flayr.
Flayr picks up his staff and dons the necessary protective gear. Sweating heavily under the stifling armor, he assumes a defensive stance. "Let the spar commence." Caspian perches on Kabarr's shoulder, Flayr having previously assured him that this particular fire genasi wished him no harm, and watches with interest.
Kabarr watches from the side stroking Caspian with one hand and feeling the flames dancing in his other. The battle though only a simple spar has kindled the Genasi in a powerful way. With each exchanged blow, his mind quickly looking for the quick kill. He remembers the scars from his master as he showed Kabarr where he had not protected against the easy win. Snapping out of the memory, he shouts “Flayr... use your speed. That staff will give you distance and leverage. Gnook.. try to trap his staff and then you should have open shots. The staff will also bounce off the shield giving you time to counterattack.”

"I know how to use Dual Kafaith, thank you very much!"
It is quite evident, by how Gnook fights, that this is quite true. He uses the curved points at the base of the miniature shield to catch Flayr's staff and pin it down, leaving Flayr open to a backhand attack using the other Kafaith to catch him with the edge of the shield. His combat style is very mobile, and he constantly uses his weapons to manipulate his opponent into an open position, bringing himself behind to strike at the more unprotected areas. Also, though he is good currently, you feel that in an underwater environment, these moves would be even more dangerous and effective.

"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
(Are we planning on roleplaying this or making some rolls?)
Flayr is no stranger to combat. Years of training with, against, and under Kabarr have honed his reflexes and mind. But a warrior he is not, and within five minutes his legs and arms begin to tire as he looks for an opening in the impenetrable gnome's armor. Hoping to bring the fight to an end to conserve his waning strength, he crouches low and swings his quarterstaff in an arc, seeking to take Gnook's legs out from under him.
Though the spar is short, it is intense; with Flayr barely coming out on top. (Though it could be different next time, defending on where Gnook's stats end up, lol)
The days and weeks press on, friends and relationships become closer, and the day of transferring over soon approaches. What do you do to prepare?
Determined to get better with his greatsword, Kabarr developers a strengthening routine and several katas to improve his balance with the weapon. In his down time, he spends time with Flayr working on eldritch spells.

Speaking of Rolen; Kaimos wonders on where he has gone. You haven't seen him around lately. (Neither have I.)

Ok, I don't know about you guys, but for me that's not rolling, so lemme try again.

Flayr spends most of his time in the library, poring over history books and ancient manuscripts for information which may be of use on the adventure.

Gnook trains yet more, devoting much more time to it than earlier.
