“Now, hold on. I have no intention of going back once were done here. Nothing good would come of it and there’s nothing left for me in that city.”His eyes are drawn to his fallen, and now looted comrades. “I plan on heading to the mountain range further north, beyond the borders of this empire.” His eyes still hanging over the closest of the dead hobgoblins.
Halhace looks him over and shrugs. "He has a fair point. But if I see him again he will get another spell from me and this time he won't be so lucky." He moves ahead to stand several feet away.
Dhara looks at Jaylen and says "Jaylen, I'm sorry", and quickly brings the dagger across the hobgoblin's neck to slit it's throat, letting it drop to the ground.
"I know this is against what you believe, but there is something bigger going on here than slaves trying to escape an arena. This thing may be honest about what he says but we can't change what he knows. If these Tenabris are so bent on finding us they will certainly add him to the list if he goes missing like that. If he's dead he's just a henchman that couldn't get the job done, but alive and missing he is a source of information they will want to find. He turned coat for us without much effort and if they find him, I would wager his resolve to keep his word to us would be about as strong as it once was to them. We can't let him go, and if we tried to take him he would wind up escaping or raising someone's attention the first chance he had."
Her face grimaces and she is clearly mournful for having to carry out this act. She wipes the dagger and sword on her armour, sheathes them, and secures her bow.
"This may appear selfish and hard to believe but right now my loyalty is to this group. Ideals are important and I admire you, Jaylen, for maintaining them in the face of so much adversity. I hope I can recover my own one day, but today is not that day".
She'll then search again the closest hobgoblin that he was staring at. She will retrieve whatever arrows she can from the scene, and also take one of the short swords. "We should hide the bodies - maybe it will distract them for a while if they think they are still looking for us."
"I don't know what to say. I understand why you felt you needed to do it. And logically I can't fault your reasoning. A part of me agrees with you completely. That frightened animal in us that struggles for survival. But I want to be more than that. No, I NEED to be more than that. I accept your apology my friend. I am saddened by your actions but I recognize your contrition. I hope we can find better days where ideals aren't so easily thrown by the wayside."
Halhace looks back and shakes his head as he moves to the others. "If things are done then let us move on once we hide the bodies as suggested. He will set his pack down and then move to drag one of the bodies off to the side.
Dhara's eyes shift from silver to a dark gray. After searching the one, she'll help with the corpses, remaining silent the entire time - and will remain so at least until we get where we're going.
Dhara, you search the body of the hobgoblin that Jaylen killed. You don’t find anything on it except for the obvious – the leather armour and a shortsword. You do notice that it has the same burn mark, located on its shoulder.
(Halhace, Dhara, Jaylen – Are you moving the bodies just off the road? If so, roll perception to see how well you hide them from view.)
You drag the four bodies a bit further off the road, making sure they are not visible to anyone traveling on it. It doesn’t take you long, but by the time you are done, the sun is just below the horizon and barely any light is illuminating your surroundings. The light you previously noticed on top of the tower is also slowly waning.
You all feel tired after the long day. However, with the temperature outdoors rapidly dropping, with only the wind and the stones underneath your feet providing some warmth for the moment, you suspect that the night will not be very restful if you spend it out here.

Jaylen would like to make an insight check to determine if he is being truthful.
Insight: 20
Meep leaves everything on the hobgoblins
Jaylen, the hobgoblin is telling the truth when he says he will go north to the mountains and that nothing good would come of going back to the city.
Kamos silently and angrily stares at the hobgoblin.

"The temperature is dropping quickly. We need to find some shelter soon"
Dhara will follow - she's in no mood to make any more decisions today.
