Gremryl ignites his mace and looks back at leon, morgana and stool... and whispers to himself:
"Moradin bless us as we walk in the caverns of death. We fear no evil, for ye hammer rings before us. And know I carry ye in me heart and know we walk the righteous path. May we find brothers and friends...and an Ale to drink.. on your anvil we pray"
And pushes on towards G town.
Leon leans against a wall and calls Morgana over.
”Look at my old man. He is such a righteous warrior. My dad is way cooler than yours.”
Oblivious Gremryl yells back “ well? Ye gonna stand there all day? He looks at his wrist (it has no watch) as my uncle used to say early dwarf finds the vein! If ye’s pick don’t strike first first yet strike last eh! Early dwarf gets the gold! Called me Gremryl the Gold finder before I joined the army they said!”
Leon yells foward, “Coming pops!” Leon turns to Morgana. “Hurry up Morgana. You are going to get us in trouble with dad.”
Gremryl's Stonecutting History check reveals much about the great Duerger city:
Gracklstugh was founded in −3717 DR by duergar escaping the fall of Deep Shanatar and the subsequent enslavement of many gray dwarves in Oryndoll.
In −3392 DR, King Horgar Steelshadow II began uniting the duergar clans in and around Gracklstugh, creating the Deepkingdom. Over the past few centuries, however, the Deepkingdom narrowing its reach to the city itself and its close environs.
The Deepkingdom's might began falling during the Deepbear Battles against the quaggoths from −1803 DR to ca. −1350 DR.
Around the 14 century DR, King Tarngardt Steelshadow(grandfather of Horgar Steelshadow IV; king since 972 DR) was manipulated and controlled by the Council of Savants. Upon his demise, Horgar IV took the throne but recognized the threat of the savants and planned to kill or at least expel all the derro in Gracklstugh.
In 1372 DR, Horgar used the Silence of Lolth and the weakness of the the followers of Lolth as an excuse to attack the drow city of Menzoberranzan and thus cement his power over his lairds. He allied with Nimor Imphraezl of the Jaezred Chaulssin to further his goals. Under his prompting, Horgar led his army to success against the drow at the Pillars of Woe and gained additional allies: the Scourged Legion of Kaanyr Vhok and the traitorous drow House Agrach Dyrr, also aligned with the Jaezred Chaulssin. Referred to as the Siege of Menzoberranzan, the allies then marched against the drow city and besieged it for several months.
On Ches 28, 1373 DR, the Silence of Lolth ended and Lolth's priestesses regained their powers. Kaanyr Vhok subsequently recalled his forces to Hellgate Keep; the remaining duergar were easily defeated and turned back. The siege officially ended on Ches 30.
As the duergar army retreated, Nimor swept in and killed Horgar Steelshadow IV.
Following Horgar IV's death, Horgar Steelshadow V ascended to the throne.
As you approach the city gates, the lights that you saw are proper lamps flanking two massive stone gates blocking the tunnel. Before you get a chance to examine the intricate carvings on the gates' surface, a harsh voice hisses from a slit on the cavern wall that was not there before.
Harsh Voice - In Dwarvish
"State your names and business!" the voice orders.
Other similar slits open, revealing the tips of a dozen crossbow bolts. Behind you, a metallic din announces a group of six heavily armored dwarves appearing out of thin air, their swords leveled at you from behind sturdy metal shields.
To Leon: “anything is better than my dad! Except maybe that piece of shit, Elmo!! Does this mean I can let go of my daddy issues?! R u gonna stick up 4 me and beat up the bullies at school?!” Morgana giggles.
to Grem: “while I think I may b more suited to the task, you can take the lead, but I’m burning down anybody that tries to lay a hand on me. Fair warning.”
Gremryl nods to morgana "fair enough lass"

"Good day Lads, our business be to see your wares and maybe do some purchasing. I've been told Gracklstough has the finest weapons and armor in all the underdark. Came to see meself aye. But first things first... ye know where I can find a frosty mug of ale? Been a long walk and myself and my companions are moghty thirsty.. what ye say? Might we enter?"
Morgana sees how this is going and steps to the front and attempts to intercede while hoping the dwarves also speak common: “Grem, u dolt, what have I told u about bothering esteemed hosts with frivolities! I apologize gentlemen if this nincompoop has wasted your precious time. What he failed to mention is that in addition to your metal goods, we understand that u r top notch slavers! This pleases us greatly since we r interested in purchasing some underlings! Furthermore, a Nobel of this illustrious town by the name of Hemeth bid us welcome and told us to stop by if we were ever in the area. He is a boon companion and we would like to speak with him as soon as possible. Show him what u have, Leon.”

Leon shows the guards the medallion Hemeth gave to him.
"We were told by Hemeth to meet him here if we made it through the underdark with out heads. We saved each other's lives on several occasions. We got separated a while back but Hemeth told me to show this to you and the members of the merchants to perhaps allow us entry into your fine city."
Leon telepathically to the party
"Don't we have something for a dragon that runs this town, Themberchaud? Was it that box from Elhutz?"
“I believe elmo took the paperwork lad” Gremryl responds telepathically
The Duerger behind the gates gives Gremryl a disgusted stare, clearly not persuaded, before replying, “It must have been a sad day for your parents when you crawled out of the abortion bucket, Dwarf.” Then he looks towards Morgana, after she fails miserably in her attempt to deceive the gatekeeper. “Two wrongs definitely do not make a right, little girl; take your parents for example. One of them surely regretted their decision to conceive you.”
Finally, presented with a special token of Clan Holderhek, the gateguard raises an eyebrow curiously. “You say you were given that token, human? Explain why or you will be taken captive inmediately. That is not a token given lightly...especially to those not of Clan Holderhek!”
Gremryl just has a shit eating grin... but stays quiet.
telepathically to Leon he says "Its on you lad, apperantly they don't take Kindly to dwarves.. we have to get in though, find elmo and find Hemmeth..."
“First off... excellent insults. Secondly Hemmeth of Clan Holderhek gave me this after we saved each other’s lives and I stopped a demon spawn from attacking him. Hemmeth told me he could no longer travel with us after that for personal reasons. Went sent our halfling buddy ahead of us with Hemmeth to escort him to this wonderful town. Hemmeth gave this medallion to me as a token to secure our entrance to the town and favor with the merchants. Hemmeth and the halfling should have already arrived in the town just ahead of us.”

”Sorry Pops, I don’t think I am in a position to defend my old man from these insults but you got to admit that it was a sweet burn.”
PGremryl chuckles internally “Aye it was... almost as if they have a book or something...”

”Dad don’t ever talk about your self like that. Want me to shove Dawnbringer up this dude ass for you? We can always retreat and find another way.”
Telepathically back “nah Lad, Gremryl has tough skin and the likes of them can’t break it.. back in mi days in adbarr I was known as a bit of a jokester miself! Gremryls got jokes they would say. ‘Sticks and stones break ye bones, but grems jokes are worser!!’ “
To the group telepathically: “anybody know why he wants that token so badly? I guess I can try to charm the group, but other than that I don’t c many options”
to morgana: "I wouldn't be trying to charm the group.. theres a few behind that door and more behind us."
To group: " if we give up the medallion, there's no guarantee we get in.. but I reckon we can find elmo and hemmeth though if we do. We have the house name and I can probably track down elmo if he is in town. He has me mace. but its a valuable coin though lad. "
