“I think there are a bunch of ******* gray dwarfs in this town. I think we are going to need that medallion inside of there. Shall I tell this cockstick no deal then?”
"Let me try one more thing lad..if this doesn't work.. we'll find another way"..
"Fellow duergar, I be a follower of moradin, much like the family that bears that medallion. I'm a Paladin of Moradin, and Hemmeth was a brother. Me Clans name is Stonebreaker, and Hemmeth bid us come here, and I've come to learn more of what became of me clan, speak with Hemmeth..peruse ye armor.. and drink some Ale. Now c'mon lads, aint know harm in that now is there? We come to spend coin in ye town."
The guard behind the gate looks Gremryl over carefully. He seems to take note of what you've said.
Gate Guard - "I'll make you a deal. You gimme that coin. I'll have an escort of guards take you to Master Holderhek's manse personally. Take it or get the **** outta my face, old Dwarf." He says with a firm tone of voice that betrays an unkind willingness to never have you enter the city gates while he has anything to say about it.
“I don’t know what this coin is worth. Hemmy said it would carry favor in the city and worth twice what he owed me. See if he want gold instead. I can part with some of that.”
“If he takes us to his house I think we should take it, we don’t seem to be in a position to bargain much. I think we should take the offer and go straight to hemmeths manse. Saves us the trouble of tracking them down. They seem not to like me much... “
I say we give him the damn coin. I’m sure hemeth can give us more if we r taken straight to him. And if this is just some ruse, we can burn them to the ground which we would have to do anyway if we were not let into the town in the first place
“I have a slight modification to your deal which will work out in your benefit. I will give you 100 gold now if you take us to Hemmeth first and then I will give you the medallion once we are there. Sound fair?”
The Duergar Gate Guard grumbles to himself inaudibly to the group.
Duergar Gate Guard - "I see that it is impossible to underestimate you. Human, I don't got nothin' to lose if you die out there. Gimme the medallion, keep your gold, you'll get your escort party to the Holderhek clan. Bit of advice to ya - gold ain't got more value than favors around here. That medallion's worth a pretty favor. You want in this city? It'll cost you that favor. Ya got 10 seconds to make up your mind or else seriously, get the **** out of my face." he says with an arrogance that speaks volumes to the Duergar culture.
"ye doing fine Young Leon... lets get in there and meet up with our brothers eh!"
to the guards
"Well, there ye have it, 100 gold now and the medallion when we arrive at the Holderderk manse. On my word as Paladin, and his as a cleric, and hers as a...well.. as my companion."
"Easy now, this lot are just mad and jealous at our Beards and behaviors.. They are just city guards who will always be stuck on the wall if ye get me drift eh! I can taste the Ale now!! I'm sure we can get another medallion as Morgana said in the town. Give him the coin then..'
As the gaurd counts to two Leon puts two middle fingers up. As the gaurd counts to one Leon drops one of the middle finger.
“Suck a dwarven dick you piece of shit. No one talks to my dad like that. I make sure themberchaud knows you slowed us down from delivering his treasure. What’s your name again? **** face the small beard dwarf of the gate?”
The slit that was your possible entry into the city slams shut. From behind the gate, you hearorders being barked out in Dwarven.
Duergar Gate Guard - “These imbeciles are not welcome in the great city of Gracklstugh.” He says loudly.
The Spears that we’re raised at your necks disappear along with the Duergar Guards that held them. You suspect they’re still present and have gone back to their invisibile guise. The crossbow bolts from the city remain trained on each of you. A quick count tallies up to 10 different bolts aimed at the group.
"I see, and here I heard Duergar skin was thicker than the rock they built this town on.. guess I was mistaken for a Duergar to be offended by a human cleric. Huh, guess what they say back in Adbarr is correct. I served in the Adbarr Army and heard Duergar were tough but apperantly ye can talk, but thats about it. I took ye insults, and yet I didn't cry like a halfing baby. Let us in and take us to House Holderderk. Or maybe ye want to do a good ol' fashioned Bare knuckle dwarven knuckle scrum eh! Back in my day, ye insulted like that ye best to back it up with ye knuckles.. ye have what it takes to beat this dwarven mistake one on one thats standing out here?"
Telepathically to the group

To the group
”I think that’s gonna be as good a deal as we can get... I’m for it, but it’s Leons coin to give. What day you leon?”
Telepathically to Grem
“I don’t know what this coin is worth. Hemmy said it would carry favor in the city and worth twice what he owed me. See if he want gold instead. I can part with some of that.”

Again all telepathically “I agree, I say we give the coin lad”
Leon steps foward and addresses the guard.
“I have a slight modification to your deal which will work out in your benefit. I will give you 100 gold now if you take us to Hemmeth first and then I will give you the medallion once we are there. Sound fair?”
Impressed Gremryl raises an eyebrow:
Telepathically
“Leon my boy, ye be a master bargainer master cleric!”
telepathically
“Learned it from my old man. (In a choke up tone) Just trying to make you proud of your baby boy.”
"ye doing fine Young Leon... lets get in there and meet up with our brothers eh!"
to the guards
Duergar Gate Guard - “Are you always stupid, or are you making a special effort today, Dwarf? 5 seconds...4...3...2...1...”
"Aye, we agree my Duergar friend! Such a friendly lot eh! I look forward to seeing the fine sights and armor of ye fine city!"
To the group telepathically :
"Easy now, this lot are just mad and jealous at our Beards and behaviors.. They are just city guards who will always be stuck on the wall if ye get me drift eh! I can taste the Ale now!! I'm sure we can get another medallion as Morgana said in the town. Give him the coin then..'
Telepathically to the group
”Time for me to pull a Morgana”

A very long pause
