Out Of The Abyss

To the group: “well, isn’t this interesting. Don’t worry boys, I’ll be finding us back to where we were. Give me a second. I’ll have gougy find us...” 

Telepathically to razorgouge: “Gougy boy, it appears we were let out a different door than we came in. Might be ye can find me so we can sort out our path eh?” 

I will direct gougy to find us so we can follow his trail back and make our way back to Hemeths manse. 

(just doing some RP while waiting.  This question happens before Elmo stealths.)  

To Grem,

"Ye need more pocket meats fer Gougy mate?" Elmo hold out a hand full of meats.  "And that was some smooth operating back there with Ylsa me seductive mate!  Did ye have jigalow'in experience in Adbar by chance mate?"

Gremryl takes the proffered meats and eats a portion 

"He'll be liking them. He's a good companion and be finding us shortly.  Best in a scrap I tell ye that. Mistress Ysla was something else Elmo. As much as she was enticing, my wife lives master Elmo... I mean to see her again. Come nowz first things first. Let's get to the manse, find leon then find these blased Derro.  I've of a mind to do some blessing on these foul fools. How ye liking the crossbow mate? Dont thank me now for vouching for ye lad.  ye can buy me an ale later for vouching for ye!"

Rowland looks around the area and waits for Grems sidekick.

"Are you sure he can just find us on his own friend? If so, perhaps he can just catch up with us along the way?"

To Rowland: "Master Blackwell, worry not lad. He'll find us and we can walk his steps back to the Manse. I'd not like to venture this city without Hemeth or a proper path lad. See.. I may have challenged a duergar captain to a round of fisticuffs.  Only to have the bastard send a barbarian! Can he believe it?! Well (a sad look crosses his face), I lost that fight in more ways than ye think lad. Almost to the slavers block we were sent and by the will of moradin, things happened and here we are. Give gougy a chance.  "

Perception check for danger 24

    Off in the distance you hear a clippity cloppity of hooves on stone...the huffing and puffing of a trusty war-hog whose picked up the scent of his master and is making its way back to him...  From up above the rooftops, Elmo is able to track where the sound is coming from and has a general idea of where Razorgouge came around in a general direction to find Gremryl.  Rushing up to Gremryl at full speed then skidding to a stop, snout to nose with its master, it bends its neck down looking for a pat on its head from the Dwarven Paladin.

    Gremryl's senses pickup a hint of danger lurking...could it be that they're still being watched?  And if so...is it the Duergar Stone Guards, Drow, or something...else...?

As Gougy comes in I'd like to picture gremryl open armed "come here my little hoggy!" I'll feed gougy some snacks that Elmo gave me. 

To the group: "see lads, if he's close by we wont be lost. I fear though something's strange around here. This blasted city I tell ye... be quick with yer eyes and quicker with ye weapons I'd reckon. If ye and Elmo can sneak about us again and watch our backs, I think the chortle, gougy and I will be ok. Let's make haste back to hemeths manse. "

As an action gremryl takes out his mace and is armed with mace and shield. I'll direct gougy to go back the way he came so we can get back to hemeths manse. 

Elmo follows. Elmo figures that he can get a better look from his elevated position. From a concealed position, during the party’s travels to Hems mansion, Elmo tries to spot danger, anybody following, or watching Hem, Mikey, and Gougy with interest. Perception: 26

"Ah and here's our meaty friend at last." Rowland says out loud as he hears the clatter of hooves in the distance. 

"Gougy, it's good to see you my friend!" He gives the hog a nod.

After hearing Grem mention the lurking danger, his face darkens and he replies solemnly, "Very well, I'll blend in and follow at a short distance. If you hear the sound of a bird's song, you'll know I've spotted something."

He follows the group keeping an eye out for signs of pursuit. Also he keeps an eye out for anyone selling meat tenderizers or exotic seasonings and spices.

Rowland rolls for perception in finding any signs of pursuit or spice dealers. 

Perception:20

    Rowland finds no signs of pursuit nor smells of appealing spices. 

(The group wishes to return to the manse, right?)

I follow the box 

Mikey asks the first person that walks by him:  "Excuse me, noble dude.  Do you know the way back to the royal quarters?"

Rowland chuckles to himself quietly at Mikey asking for directions. 

  In this particular corner of the city, just outside of where you exited Ylsa's Warehouse, there aren't any other citizens or denizens that you see about.  The thought makes you begin to wonder just how long you've been in there for.  Rowland, staying behind a bit of Gremryl and Mikey, feels the unsuspecting poke of a sharp object behind him.  Afraid to look, he freezes in place, quickly calculating his next action.

Rowland - Roll Initiative! (You did not elude their tracking as they saw you pull back from Grem and Mikey).

    Walking ahead, Gremryl, riding Mikey and Mikey keeping pace, they simultaneously see two cloaked individuals come from around the corner.  You can't make out the details on their face because it's obscured by their hoods...but the color of their skin appears to be the cold-blue of Drow.  One holds up his(or her) hand while the other unsheathes a short-sword.

    Elmo watches this unfold just moments prior to the engagement beginning and has made up his mind on how he wants to action...
