To the group, "Once everyone is ready, I believe we should head to the cave where Elmo blocked the passage and send in those in the group that will fit. Hmm, I wonder if Hemeth has any small companions he could spare for that part of our adventure?"
”After Elmo left to see Grem and Mikey at the contest, Gotokarr told us he wanted us to track down Drokki as well for the Dragon. He said Drokki appeared to be working as a messenger for an organization called Grey Ghosts and an unknown organization.”
”Elmo and Rowland did you discern any clues to this while you were in there? What is the layout of this place? What exactly are we walking into here?”
Rowland will ask Hemeth to provide materials in order to sketch out a crude map of what he has seen of the cave system so far.
(Is the DM able to provide the group with a limited map of the cave system?)
To the group, "This is the area we've explored so far. I didn't notice anything during our first visit that indicated a specific group was working there. We only saw one figure enter and he was taking to himself referring to Droki in the third person as I recall. After persuing and blocking his escape we explored briefly and came across Bupido who seemed to be alone until he summoned his skeleton minions."
To Elmo, "Elmo, you seemed to notice something that indicated the figure we saw originally was Droki himself. Did you notice anything else?"
“He was invisible. I only heard him. It sounded like a crazed Derro scolding himself in the 3rd person. I only say the back side of his before he shrank and went into the hole. I know that ye need to take some mushrooms to shrink and grow to the appropriate size. (Elmo holds out a handfull of both types)”
”I have never seen Droki. The Derro I think we trapped may not be him. But judging by the reports of murdered wee ones, and the grizzly state of Bupido’s room of horrors, I wager that I followed Droki.”
“There is no light in much of the cave. Which, thanks to ye belt, is only a problem for ol’ Elmo. Since Rowland I did most of the hard work I imagine, and because mr Black is an even better scout in the underdark than I am, I think I can manage with me torch. Our party’s full force, and me with a torch should be more than a match for Skelton’s or worse. The only place I could see me lack of sight in the darkness being a problem is in the tunnel that we trapped Droki. Even with the shrinking mushrooms, only Grem and meself are big enough to fit. Me sight would only be a problem if we chose to be stealthy. Otherwise Ol’Grem can take the lead, I could follow a bit behind with a torch. What do you think mates?”
“I say we make the call when we get in there and do what needs to be done. Keep in mind though things maybe tougher this time. If I were just attacked my defenses would be up. Stay vigilant everyone.”
The group departs for the tunnels. Before leaving, Hemeth tells you about the Grey Ghosts. He tells you that the Grey Ghosts are the only true thieves' guild in Gracklstugh and the Deepkingdom. Its members are Duerbar and Derro outcasts plus the odd escaped slave, from his intel has recovered. There were rumors of heated engagement between the Keepers of the Flame and the Grey Ghosts that may have directly led to the execution of the Grey Ghosts' previous leader who stole something of immense value from the Keepers. Ever since, they've gone quiet...
Rowland hands Elmo the end of his rope and relays to the group that he intends to be in front by roughly 10-15 ft so that he can see any threat first and relay it to the team before they are spotted. He'll proceed quietly once they are ready and search for any sign of life or recent activity as they head towards the spot he and Elmo blocked Droki at.
You enter the door and walk into a large cavern tunnel that's black as the Underdark could ever be. Without some aid to vision in the darkness, this tunnel would surely be the death of an unwary traveler. To the intrepid adventurers of this motley crew, however, this is just one more journey, quite par for the course.
You slowly more forward in the darkness. Rowland is scouting just about 10ft ahead...prepared to give the signal to halt all movement at a moment's notice. Finally you come to the area where Elmo and Rowland believes they've perhaps trapped the Derro named Droki. It appears as though nothing has been changed since the last time that Elmo and Rowland were here.
Elmo hands Grem a couple servings of the growth fungus and the shrinking fungus and instructs him on which is which.
“After we shrink down, we’ll need somebody to move the rock for us. Move it slowly to allow Grem to get in. We know that Droki can turn invisible, so I don’t want him sneaking by before we have a chance to enter.
“Elmo offers his +2 short sword to Rowland. If yer radiant short sword works for any foolish halfling, then perhaps we trade swords for a short while.”
Elmo is ready to enter. He takes the shrinking shroom when Grem does. “Who’s going to move the rock? Remember to move it back so that it’s obscuring most of the entrance. Make it so Droki can’t slip by ye. Just be ready to move it if we come running and screaming this way.”
To Grem,
“You go in first. I’ll be about 40 ft behind ye with a torch. Keep an eye out for traps. There was something that I feel that I narrowly missed on my first trip though. If I see Benny light up I’ll come running up quick.”
You all arrive back at the manse and begin to debrief each other. When you’re ready to move out, majority vote will dictate where you go next.

Elmo takes the rope but gives it to Grem so he can be further back.
Grems gives it to mikey.
"Hang on to this lad. It may get dark. "
"Leon my boy when you are ready any blessings ye have I'll take lad. "
<What would you like to do?>

Rowland swats Elmo's hand away, "Sorry friend, we'd need to rest and focus for you to utilize its power. There's no time for that."

Rowland moves roughly 10ft towards the unscouted area and watches for signs of danger.
Perception: 16
To Grem, after the shrinking
“Here’s where we see if buying Ye a shield was a good investment.” Elmo jokes.
