Rowland doesn’t seem to recall any creature known as the “Spider King”. 

"Us dwarven folks have a natural ability to shrug off poisons... call it 'in out genes'.. but ye lot should be needing it being extra careful lads. Come of there be nothing else here can we be moving?"

Rowland to the group

"Well let me scout ahead a little bit down the tunnel these creatures were inhabiting."

Rowland will scout down the tunnel stealthily another 100 feet and then report back to the group.

Well team,  let's take the note and move on. Gougy with me lad. Keep that about sharp for any wierd smells or danger.  

Gremryl will move to follow 

Elmo lights his sword, waits for grem to get roughly 30 feet ahead.  He then grabs Mikeys hand and pulls him along.

"Come on mate"

    Rowland reports back saying that he sees a fork in the tunnel, not far from where you lured the Carrion Crawlers away from their meal.  The fork to the left appears to have a glow of faerzress in the tunnels revealing sticky white strands clinging to the walls.  The strands become more dense as one would move farther in.  The right fork goes on for quite some stretch.

Leon whispers to the group

"We are here for the Derro right? Shouldn't we take care of him first boys?"

"Its a bit late now, rowland is up ahead lad. Best we move on and smite these evil spiders lest they be waiting for us when we come back? " 

Rowland looks at Grem

"I am literally right next to you. Are you okay man? I just told you about the tunnels ahead."

Rowland walks over to Leon

"Watch your old man.  I think he is having old people problems."

Leon whispers to Rowland

"His dick isn't working anymore? Oh wait the confusion... don't take it personal.  He isn't really a listener... or a pay attenioner.  Just tell him to follow and where the bad guys are."

Leon turns to the group

"It would appear Grem wants to kill the spider king.  Any votes for killing the Derro we came down here for?"

"Eh, ye boys speaking of mi packer? Its stout as ever! Why back in mi day.. well. Let's not being that up. But ye right in that i think we slay this spider then find the derro. Might be it has some items we can use? Plus gougy hates spiders. But it matters not lads. Where ye lot goes I'll follow. Someone had to look after you young lads..."

Leon whispers to Rowland

"Definitely over compensating for the whole dick thing.  I will check it out.  Thanks for noticing... Not sure why you were checking but good catch."

Mikey says "I'm still itching from where that last swarm of little spiders tried to crawl up my butt and nest!  I want payback!"

Mikey will move forward at the rear of the group and let the more stealth party members scout ahead.  He will pay particular attention tot he walls and ceiling to watch for an ambush.

Well if the Chortle is ready let's be moving then lads.

    Rowland proceeds to scout ahead roughly 45ft from the rest of the group.  Gremryl follows behind next with Gougy, then Elmo, Leon and Mikey guarding the rear.  Rowland quickly approaches another fork in the tunnel.  Right or left...the field-trained ranger kneels down to touch the webbing...it doesn't take long for him to recognize the faintest twitches coming from farther down the tunnel to the right.  Something moves farther...or closer...it's unclear.

Elmo follows with mikey keeping their paths lit with his sword.  Seeing mikey inspect the walls for spiders, elmo decides to do the same.

Perception check for danger or any useful knowledge as we travel: 21

Elmo says quietly so only Mikey can hear,

"Bloody hell, why are we courting danger with the spiders.  ye remeber the bloody note, and that we done be having any potions to combat deadly toxins either.  I should have spoke up, but I had a mouth full of pocket meat. Curse you and your deliciousness!" Elmo says to a pocket meat in his off hand before he consumes it.

Rowland returns to the group and advises them of the impending danger inside.

”Do you have another plan Leon or should we walk into the lair of death?”

Leon thinks for a second.

”Well we can illuminate the interior and see what we are working with. Atleast it won’t let them surprise us but they will know we are there. Rowland and Elmo can shoot arrows in the cavern and I can use my light cantrip to illuminate the arrows so we can have a look inside.”

Leon thinks for a second

”That or we after the Derro.”

Elmo works his way over to those with dark vision after putting out the light on his sword.  His travels slowly and carefully whispering "Mates... Mates!" along the way.  When he reaches the Leon, Grem, and Rowland, he says,

"Mates! i got this scroll of cloud kill (gives to Leon), some oil that we could use to create a fire trap, and some oil of slipperiness."

Elmo puts all the items on the ground for the other to use since he cant see without lighting up his sword.     

"I think we should be getting the derro.  I dont want to have died because I ignored a bloody note.  But if we are going to kill some spiders, then lets set a trap."

“Unfortunately Elmo I can not use this scroll. Perhaps we find a mage to sell it to or have them cast it into my ring. The fire trap does sound promising as long as we can pull the spiders into the trap area.”
