Morgana, floating high above the dangers below witnesses his Halfling companion nearly die before her eyes...and more importantly, on her watch. Nothing in this astral plane exists that infuriates her more than an enemy, and these ones, in particular, could be costing Morgana her future of power untold. That cannot be...and will not be!
Casting Ice Knife on the Water Weird that she can see, and dealing heavy damage, the Water Weird begins to retreat back into the water, but not before Morgana, in her rage, casts Ice Knife yet again, dealing additional damage! This is more resistance than the Water Weird has encountered before, and while there's life left in its magical form, it's wise enough to know retreat when it's the best option. It looks to all of you that it will soon retreat under the water's surface and recuperate from this unexpectedly powerful defense. It's not able to take action yet, however, all of you have no question in your mind that you have the upper hand now in this battle.
Gremryl, clutching Elmo in his hands, after Hemeth pulled him back to the safety of the raft, is ready to take action next!
"Now I swear to you...the frozen hell that I just visited upon that weird sewer dreg that's now running like an iced up turd down a toilet will seem like a hug from a kitten to the next ******* PICE OF CRAP THAT EVEN LOOKS AT ME CROSS EYED!!! Give me a god damned excuse!!!," Morgana seethes as she revels in the pain and destruction she has wrought on her foes!!
to Hemmeth he says "Steady the raft! watch me back and for Moradins sake watch the water!! Ye be believing in the power of Moradin aye?? (he growls with determination) "I be his Hammer and his power flows through me!"
I whisper into my hands again and that golden glow eminates.. and cast Lay on Hands to restore 20 Hp's to Elmo.
and as my bonus action i cast Hunter's Mark on that wierd ****!
and my movment will be to stand up and stand shoulder to shoulder with Hemmeth facing the water after healing Senor Elmo.
Stool is worried for Elmo and rushes over to provide any protection and comfort he can offer. He readies an action to attack an enemy that comes close.
Elmo, now recovering from his near-death experience, is ready to take action. There's still a Water Weird that's targetable about 15-feet away from the raft at the moment.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Elmo jerks back to consciousness having last remembered his attempt at a squid defense,
It worked! Great Ishtus that was wee bit close! (shouts to all) Guys! Elmo added another sneaky maneuver ino his wee bag of tricks. I teach it to ye later Glabagool lad!
Hit: 11
Having been freshly healed and in relatively little pain, Elmo casually finishes his sentence as he finishes taking aim at the retreating weird. Elmo nonchalantly, or perhaps over confidently, fires his cross bow at his target. He doesn't wait to see if it hits. He proudly turns back to the party, half smile on his small face, to continue bantering and reload his crossbow.
Elmo opens his mouth, presumably in an attempt to say something witty or brag about his new "squid-ish" tactic, when he notices that he had not heard the thud of his bolt making contact. He gives a disappointed look over his shoulder at the foe.
Briefly disappointed by the miss, after a second Elmo energetically shakes off his disappointment.
Oh well. Nobody is perfect, not even halflings. (He then begins to casually take off his pants)
Id like to use my bonus action to use my fast hands to clean the shit out of my pants off the side of the boat. Elmo's pants are off again.
Sorry mates, handling some ink stains.

You can use the bonus action granted by your Cunning Action to make a Sleight of Hand check, use your thieves’ tools to disarm a trap or open a lock, or take the Use an Object action.
Everyone on the raft hears Elmo announce something about ink stains and then in a flash of Superman like speed, his pants are completely freshened and nobody's really the wiser about it. Except perhaps for Glabbagool who was in the water at the time of the...escape attempt...
The Water Weird that looked to be retreating now seizes the opportunity to escape from combat by disengaging with Glabbagool and turning invisible underneath the water's surface. Gremryl can still sense roughly where it's located and can tell that it's descending as deep as it can and likely as fast as it can.
Glabbagool returns to the raft and readies an action to engulf the next enemy that comes close enough. Hemeth stands strong, shoulder to shoulder with Gremryl and also readies an action to attack the next enemy that approaches within range with his Javelin.
At this point, nobody can see any additional enemies approaching. What does the group wish to do?
"I sense they be retreating to the blasted depths they came from, I say we best be getting on our way! Before they be thinking about coming back with friends! Morgana, can you give us a 'hand'?"
“Sorry for poisoning the lot of ya back there. I don’t really miss a trap, then again I rarely ever shite myself either. This has been an unfortunate journey of firsts mates. I’m truly sorry“
Elmo bows graciously and checks inside the canister.
I'll maintain air cover but I'll send my mage hand down to help paddle.
Calls to Elmo: "If you can't handle mystical objects of power responsibly, then give them to somebody that can. Grem, or perhaps stool who has been showing some common sense lately. Not me though...I'd just try to fight it....Also, what the hell was that cloud I saw appear in the water from up here? SOme sort of area attack by the weird?"
To The party in general: I'll keep watch from up here but the coast seems clear for now. Onward!"
As you all decide that it's best to move on and not provoke another encounter with the denizens of the Darklake, Morgana puts her Mage Hand to work and begins pushing the raft slowly over the Darklake.
Once they begin to get some distance between what could have been Elmo's watery grave, Elmo once again turns his attention back towards the small, metal container. Being extremely careful to make sure there aren't any more traps involved, Elmo opens the container and finds...
A pre-paid invoice to a store in Gracklstugh called "Henstak's Worldy Wares". There's only one item on the order form and it's labeled "Duerger's Spite". In small handwriting, you see a scribble next to it that says, "Crossbow +++". You deduce that someone needed a little extra info to make sure the order was received accurately and the courier wasn't easily deceived.
Morgana keeps watch from above, but if anyone were to look, they'd see her paying more attention to not crashing into another stalactite then to any threats that may be following them.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Gremryl will stand at the front of the raft in all his majestic Glory, looking like a Righteous Paladin his mace in one had and morning star in the other staring ahead for dangers and land.
while scanning and probably not seeing anything he asks Stool "Lad, how much farther ye be thinking?"
So Is Elmo the only one who's been having dark dreams at night? Hemeth has been having a spot of night terrors too, though his are different than mine. My nightmare had old Elmo falling for ages, until I finely splashed in a cold lake. Once in the lake I was toyed with by some terrify'in evils I was... (elmo stars into the distance as he recalls the horrors in his nightmare)
Is Elmo alone? Or is he Crazy?
Later to Hemeth
Ye aint ever heard of Henstak's Worldy Wares have ye mate?
I want to continue to develop my relationship with Glab more. I want to continue to answer his questions and talk his ear off. If possible I want him to learn how to tell a good story, how to set up a joke and finish with a strong and unexpected punchline, how to get along with humanoids. Ill roll a charisma check like last time:
Replying to Elmo in a tone that suggests I am not all together present: "I've been dreaming as well, little one...There are voices whispering at me in the dark. They require that I give in to my darker urges....they insist that I be about my father's work...I don't care to sleep...."
To Stool: "So what can we expect when we hit your town, little buddy? What's it like? Any points of interest we should be looking forward to?"
I'm also gonna take some travel time to reset my ring of spell storing and charge it with mind spike, suggestion, and charm person.
"I thought I was the only one.. me dreams are filled with foul beasts!! Evil, coming at me from every where... minions of the dark. My power.. it seems not enough. .There's some amiss don't ye doubt.. A dwafs mind is sharp. Mine especially. Me dreams have helped me in me investigations of sort. One time Old Miss Hardbread had lost her favorite rolling pin when i was a young dwarf. So good 'ol Sherlock grem was on the case aye.. I ate some of her delicious bread and slept on it.. had a dream, about biscuits and rolls.. (might have i belched a few times). In the morning I knew where it was... I was sleeping on it.. turns out i passed out in her pantry and she may have dropped it there. Aye.. dreams are important, dont ye doubt"
"
I'll continue to ask hemmeth about his family, duergar wrestling, discussing martial techniques, and weapons strengthening the dwarven bond.
Stool replies to Gremryl - "We're not much further, maybe just another day or so. I can feel we're very close to my village! Thank you for taking me home!"
Hemeth replies to Elmo - "Aye, I have. But how did you hear of that place?" he asks in return, with a puzzled look on his face. Clearly, he did not expect you to reference that name without having ever stepped foot in Gracklstugh before.
