Dagon nods grimly to the suggestion of resting, and after helping his companions to make sure the room is secure he will find a place to sit with his back to a wall and rest his greataxe across his lap. The warrior takes out a small scrap of cloth and a whetstone shard from a small pouch at his side and begins tending to his axe with an almost trance-like steadiness, running the stone along one edge and then another, carefully wiping away dust and debris and repeating the process. His dark eyes stare blankly at his task but his hands move in a manner that seems almost automatic, as if the process requires no thought or effort in it's familiarity and repetition. The half-orc knows that it will take more than this basic maintenance to repair the damage done by the caustic ooze, but tending to his weapon is a practice that has become second nature and it is soothing and relaxing, allowing the marauder to recover his stamina for the trials ahead.
"Shall we continue?" Kic says as he flys about the room twirling and limbering up for battle. The flame and shine of shillelagh now adorn his quarterstaff.
Dagon breaks from his reverie and looks up as Kic speaks.
"Yes." The half-orc rumbles, standing and stretching his powerful muscles like a predatory cat. "Let us continue the hunt."
The marauder feels entirely restored and ready for battle as he hefts his greataxe and begins looking around the room again. There is still the dais to inspect, as well as a door on the northern wall and two on the western wall. Dagon uses the scorch marks cleverly left by Kic to remind himself that they came through one of the two doors in the west, and he furrows his heavy brow in thought. He considers the options for a moment, then addresses his companions.
"We go either north, or we double back west again. North would presumably take us deeper into this structure while west would cause us to backtrack on our progress, but there is a chance we come across something we may have missed. We could open the western door and see if it is a room to investigate or a corridor that leads somewhere, or we can abandon the idea and simply press onward to the north." Glancing around, the marauder grunts, "I would suggest we open the western door, but if it leads us back in that direction then I say we ignore that path and continue northward instead. What are your thoughts on our options, pack mates?"

Humphry, groggiliy getting up from his nap, smacks his lips, and follows Kic's orders blindly. He approached the door, while hacking up the biggest loogie he could muster. He leaned his head back, and then quickly shot it forward, sending the glob directly at the door. Investigation 6 | Spell Attack Roll 14 | Acid Damage 6
The gnome takes a good long look at the symbol and the mechanism. "I have a f-f-f-e-few ideas" Taking a look around at the position of his allies, "St-st-st-st-stand back"
Humphry first tries using the skeletal hand that is formed when you cast Chill Touch to press its finger on the symbol. If that doesn't activate it. He'll try picking up the corpse of one of the creatures and throwing it against the symbol, hoping it might activate. If that doesn't work he'll just try disarming it regularly (without any theives tool). Dex check? 15 (not sure if I should get disadvantage on that roll or not)
The door screeches but no enemies appear. Kic enters into the corridor that they were in recently, and he can see the massive stone slab blocking the entrance to the northern room, the result of the trap you triggered.
"Anything of use in there?" Dagon grumbles, waiting for his Aarakocra companion to inspect the newly opened passage, "Or do we move on to the next door?"

“I like that idea” Kic responds. “Humphry go spit on the door and see if it attacks you”
(That cracked me up. :D)

Humphry, or rather Humphry's salivary liquids reveal a symbol of hypnosis carved into the door that would be activated upon opening it.

Kic probably doesn't see anything unusual.
Kic spots an intricate disabling mechanism beneath the symbol, but he realizes that the slightest mistake in deactivating it could trigger the trap.

Kic will look over to Humphry and say, " there seems to be a disarming mechanism under the symbol but it looks... delicate. Wanna give it a go?"

Kic will back up and make sure Perry is a good distance away.
(I really hope the chill touch doesn’t work so I can imagine Humphry throwing a corpse at the door for science of course.)
Humphry succeeds in disarming the mechanism, and you can all breathe easier.

"it opens to the stone slab corridor. Let's try the next door" Kic responds and will shut the door and mark it with the flame.
Humphry checks that door for traps as well. Investigation 15
