Reverie gazes at Jack, thinking deeply about his relationship with Umberlee. Soon her eyes grow wide when he asks her back, hesitating to answer his question. Then she breaks her gaze from Jack as it shifts down to her berserker scimitar. "I... think I am okay at the moment..." she mutters, "I am a noble girl who wanted to be a hero from my favourite childhood book. Just as you said, I made my oath and chose to be rebellious towards my family before I met all of you. However," a frown rests upon her brows, "I feel like something has changed within me after meeting the sages, learning about some kind of magic occurs to my family and my spare partners, and gaining this scimitar for the Forestgleam's..." A pause. "... Sometimes, I am confused—no, every time before I go to bed. I don't know if I chose the right path for myself... For my family."

Reverie Forestgleam—Human Paladin Level 5 in Frontier City of Nunkreet Extremely busy and busy as ever recently, but I will trying to catch up as much as I can
Jack frowns. “There’s no sense worrying about that now, is there? Just note that ye only met us because you went on that path. As for your family, they should be proud of ye. You’ve grown to become quite a strong individual. I’m sure, were they here right now, they’d applaud you.“
Jack shakes his head, suddenly deciding to burst into enthusiasm. It seems family talk is not something he enjoys, and is actively trying to change the subject. “ok! If everyone’s ready, how about we go back? Maybe we can do something about that note we just got.”
Isk says to Reverie, "Aye, it seems like all of our fates are connected. I am thinking it was no coincidence that you guys came upon me at the at shipwreck. We are all bound to this journey."
Then to Jack, "Perhaps back to Mortimer's shop, we can question him about how dealings with the cult of Bane."
The party wraps up Warton's body in a simple blanket, like a shroud, for protection and concealment. For now, you are carrying the body... There was a broken wagon in front of Mortimer's shop. If you can get that working, it will be easier and more dignified way of transporting the body to one of the temples that can handle a funeral.
Your group is conversing as you head back to Mort's shop. As you round the corner of the house nearest to the shop, when you realize that there are a dozen city guards bustling around the shop. A portly dwarf with an elaborate mustache is talking to Mortimer outside the shop. The dwarf is looking at the (ice) damage to the front doors, while Mort is mopping his sweaty brow.
Jack sees a guard holding his Boom-erang. The guy is unfamiliar with the weapon, and waving it like a warped club. Jack walks over and snatches it out of the guard's grasp, who was caught unaware. Jack: "Oh crap, I forgot about getting that back earlier. Thanks, buddy."
Those words, the appearance of your battle-dirty party, and the body-sized bundle you are carrying, seem to agitate the policeman. The squad of guards surround your group, weapons drawn and ropes ready. The wrapped-up body of Warton is pulled away from your group. The dwarf waddles over. "I am Inspector Clew-Sea. I am in charge of investigating the crimes that have occurred at this location. You are to be questioned at the precinct house, along with the usual suspects in this neighborhood. Surrender your weapons, and come along peacefully."

“Questioned?” Jack says, handing over his Boom-erang. “Rghh..” However, he doesn’t hand over Leroy, keeping him sheathed. “Ye can’t have him. He’s got a mind of his own- handing him over would be like handing over a living being.”
Looking at Froskan, he frowns. “It’s not like I started this. What do ye expect?”
Reverie sighs as she closes her eyes once, handing her scimitar, but still holds on her berserker scimitar. "This is the treasure of my family but cursed, thus I cannot hand it over to the strangers for good. Would you please allow me to hold it in my hand for the safety?"

The only weapon Isk has is his glaive, which disappears in a puff of purple smoke. Isk looks at the guards with a shrug and says, "Alright then, let's go."
Clew-Sea looks over your group again (after the comments and obvious irritation), then adopts a mock servile attitude. "Oh, maybe we should arrange for a room in the finest hotel, a bottle of fine wine... Then we can wash your feet?" (Then gets serious again, and spits on the ground to the side of your group.) "You should re-think your attitudes. You are suspects of crime and violence. You are not going to wander around the precinct with weapons handy. If you want to keep them, maybe we should break your hands so you can't use them?
"We are the police, not criminals like you pompous hobos."
(Reverie's persuasion roll of 22.) One of the guards nearby, oblivious to the bad atmosphere of the conversation, starts speaking up. "Eh, the lieutenant that got sacked was certainly a crook. Selling off confiscated goods, then keeping the money to himself." (Another guard piping up.) "Yeah, he shouldn't have sold that distinctive heirloom of that knight... Say, this lady has a point. If anything they hand over goes missing, we will be in so much trouble with the Viscount's men." They start squabbling about other corrupt acts they've heard rumors about.
Clew-Sea is annoyed by the interruptions. (He doesn't seem to run a disciplined squad.) After slapping the two guards to get them to shut up, he takes a moment to stand tall and regain a dignified look. He then approaches the group again.
"Fine. We shall do the interrogation here. If I don't like your answers, you get locked in our dungeon... without your weapons.
"From what I've heard so far, 3 members of the Bane church walked in to do some business in this shop, you started arguing with them, then mayhem started. First question... Why did you strangers attack fine-upstanding citizens of our community?"

“If a Bane cultist is upstanding, I don’t want to see what the horrible people are.”Jack says, mumbling under his breath. “Alright! Here’s what happened!”
In true Jack fashion, he begins telling his tale. “We were here for a job. To watch for some people from his-“ Jack, dramatically, points to Trim. “-village! The owner of the shop no longer wished to pay them. Now, as far as I understand, these villagers had been kidnapped. Kidnapped, I say! Taken away from their simple homes. Quite a surprise to us, since they were now part of this Church!” ”Trim and I stood outside, watching the scenario. We set up the scene. These 3-“ He points at Froskan, Reverie, and Isk, still pulling the dramatics. ”-hid in the shop, in plain sight. They, oh so bravely, chose to put themselves in harms way. True heroes, these 3 are!” ”Now, Trim-“ He does more pointing, as he spins his tale. “- he was with me, awaiting the foes arrival. And there, we saw the Villagers.. with 2 people, chained up! When confronted, these worshippers of Bane turned them into strong-“ He flexes, still dramatically. “-Frightening, roaring, Demons! We had to fight our way out of the situation!“ Jack pulls out Leroy, comforting anyone watching that he won’t hurt them. He begins swinging Leroy around, reenacting what had happened. “We all fought valiantly. Reverie, with her scimitar, slashed at the Demons. The strange Lady Villager put down a spell, creating a wall of ice!” He performs some magical gestures. “Froskan and I chopped away at the ice, having to bear through the pain. The frostbite chipped away at us, but eventually, we managed to put away the Demons, and make it through!” ”But then, something unexpected happened. The villagers morphed, twisted into found beings. A Strange, Terrifying creature of Umberlee-“ He says her name with spite. “-, a twisted Deep Scion. The woman, she morphed into a Hag- a strange, evil Spellcaster.” ”We chased them down to a house, where we cornered them. We thought we were doomed! The Hag shot freezing cold blasts of Ice, pelting us with Hail from above. The Scion went into a maddening rage, furiously swiping at whatever was in front of him, as if he were truly possessed. Heroically, we took down the Scion, forced to take his life in the process. The woman, however- she got away, on a magical broom of hers.
During all of this, Jack is reenacting the entire battle- the hacking and slashing, the spells, the insults, the dodging and rolling. The might roars and rage of the Deep Scion, the spell casting of his allies and the Hag. Every small detail, he includes in his reenactment, leaving nothing under exaggerated.
Jack smirks, sheathing Leroy. “And that is the tale of how we Valiantly slayed a terrifying demon of Umberlee, and the cultists and demons of Bane himself! 2 worshipped Deities, of who’s Cultists came out for who they were- Evil, Demonic beings!”
Isk take's moment before Jack breaks into his amazing rendition of events and, with a genuine smile, says, "Apologies investigator, we have just been engaged in a battle that saw us take serious damage. Our nerves were frayed, we did not mean to insult you." Persuasion 12
The regular guards are awed by Jack's storytelling, and a few start politely clapping when he is finished. Clew-Sea is not so impressed (and looks unconvinced by Isk's apology).
"An interesting story, however much of it is true. Gives you an explanation for the suspicious activity of carrying around a dead man. But everyone knows that Bane fights against demons. His followers would not use them if they had a choice."
(When he mentioned "dead man", he looked at Warton's wrapped up body... Bane is Lawful Evil, and works mostly with devils. Devils and demons are in constant war, in the outer planes.)
Clew-Sea starts speechifying, marching back and forth, and not really looking at anyone as he gets caught up in hearing himself talk.
"Seems your knowledge of the church of Bane is limited, or outdated. There were bad leaders in the past, who caused trouble and tried to rule others. But when their power was broken a year ago, new and better leadership ousted the corruption. They are now model citizens of the community now, shining examples that work for the public and donate to worthy causes... You should not besmirch their fine names, merely because of a few bad seeds from long ago."
(Reverie and Froskan are proficient in Insight, and Jack has expertise. You notice that when Clew-Sea said "donate to worthy causes", his hand subconsciously went to the coin pouch on his belt.)
