Trimyrai: (to the party) "We don't know where Darvin and that hag went off to. Thats why we were doing odd jobs."
Anaskyrath mentioned that 2 unusual people sent her from Nunkreet to the Feywild (post 4406). After getting a better description (post 4415), Trim and the rest of the party realize that it was Darvin and the Bheur Hag (post 4418).
It does seem odd that the Iron Gate hasn't found any clues about their whereabouts in the past week. But you can have Ana lead you to where she saw those 2 beings.

"Hm?" Ana has been so focused on their discussion, she didn't even notice all the snow-covered people. "Someone's controlling the weather? But why?" She rose and grabbed her equipment. "Shall we go investigate?"
Reverie hums and then nods. "I would join with Ana for investigation as well. If it is a Bheur Hag that controls the weather at this moment, then we need to seek for a clue for ourselves quickly." Then she tilts her head. "However, it is indeed strange that the Iron Gate hasn't found any clues yet."

Ana's "Cosmic Omen" ability will be used just before the party heads out in the morning, unless Ana wants to pick a different time.)

With little information seemingly to be had that evening, Brin has a couple more ales, then would retire. Int he morning he would find his new companions and be ready to follow to the last place this winter hag was seen.
After the party's discussion is over, Trimyrai will retire to his room, bathe, and think on what is said. After a long rest, Trimyrai will meet up with the party and come up with what we are going to do for the day.

The party is still a little tense after your experiences in the Feywild, and having 2 new members, but you still enjoy your dinner and a chance to sleep in normal beds. (Fey food and hospitality is more than a bit unusual.)
At the crack of dawn, you assemble for a quick breakfast before heading out. Buster (one of the hotel owners) greets you, and passes along some news from overnight.
You'll have a bit of trouble moving around, as there is a foot of snow outside. (Reverie will move easily with her magic fur boots, but everyone else will find it a slog.) The snow is almost 3 feet deep around the High Garden (where the city nobility live.) Someone had planted an Ice Troll heart near the High Wall, and invoked dark magic to create last night's blizzard.
There will be a reward if the culprits behind the blizzard magic are caught/stopped, although the Earl of the city hasn't said what the reward will be.
Some of the Bane high priests were arrested, due to all the signs around town (demanding payment to the church of Bane or face disaster). They claim their innocence, but are still being interrogated.
Jack's room is empty. He packed up his things, and checked out before the rest of the party was awake. He told Buster to pass along his apologies, but he has to check out the map by himself. (Says it is secret society of marines stuff, so he can't involve the rest of the party.) He hopes Trimyrai finds his villagers.
To help out the party, Jack left behind 2 regular healing potions. (I've added a potion to inventory of Brin and Ana.)

Despite the slightly subdued mood of the group, Isk is delighted by the heaps of snow despite himself saying, "I've never seen snow like this before.... I mean, a work of great evil for sure, but at least its pretty."
Trimyrai: (to the party) "This seems a little too convenient. A problem just happens to occur the night we return from a long journey? Something is up."

Reverie looks at her friends and the new companions for a moment, and yet she decides to keep her words within her mind. "It is beautiful to see the snow glows under the sunlight," she agrees with Isk before nods when Trim assumes something is up. "Something is happening indeed. I am worrying if Jack has gone safely." A pause. "I am wondering, though, who would have had an ice troll's heart and planted on the High Garden. I thought the High Garden is secure than any other places, at least."

"Well it no be getting us anywhere to be standing around staring at the snow." Brin grumbles as he glances to the group. "Which of ye knows the location of where this winter spellcaster might be last seen at?" he glances around and nods to the snow. "Just as well be getting a move on, that no be going to melt anytime soon to my way of thinking."
Trimyrai: (to the party) "Brin is right, lets begin our investigation." Trimyrai leads the way to the high wall to see the spot where the troll heart was planted to see if there was any clues the city guard might have missed.

(OOC: For the newcomers, to make my life simpler, there are 4 seasons, each with three "moon" months of 30 days.)
A blizzard of this intensity is almost unheard of. Since Nunkreet has clerics of every faith in residence (heavily over-represented for a city on the frontier), the weather workers usually cooperate to keep the weather mild. Even the SnowFall Festival last month (at the start of the Winter season) was a deliberate and light amount of snow, carefully scheduled.
Bane is no storm god. Even with the magic of an Ice Troll heart, there must have been disagreements and sabotage between the churches to let the blizzard get out of hand.
You leave the hotel (in the northeast corner of the city), head west (past the craftsmen, the North Gate, and the blacksmiths), then head south to the slums. Along the way you see that some people are digging out paths in the snow, while some shops are closed for the day. When you reach the slums (widely separated huts and open fields), you see that most of the inhabitants are marching through the snowpack, to get firewood, water, food, or to work.
It is somewhat near the western city wall, and somewhat near the shop of the seedy Mortimer Warkent, where you encountered Darvin and his gang. (Link to post 3510, if you wanted a reminder. Not necessary to read.)
When you are almost at the spot where Anaskyrath encountered Darvin and the hag (two days ago), a nearby city guard squad yells at your group. An overly wide and chubby sergeant is the one getting your attention. There are four common city soldiers standing around a metal barrel, holding their hands by the fire for more warmth. There is a nearby warehouse, better constructed than the other slum buildings, with tracks in the snow leading to the squads current position.
Sergeant: "Turn around to where you came from. The Earl (city ruler) has closed down this part of the city. Between the thick snow and the claims of Ice Trolls roaming the city, you should return to the safer parts."

Seems like command always puts the best men in the worst places, " Isk smiles and adds, "but I suppose that's where they are needed most. Can you tell me what sort of things you've seen out here?"
Brin stomps his feet in place, working to keep warm as the conversation with the guards starts. he eyes the barrel they are warming up over, and wishes he could step closer to do the same.
Brin takes a few side steps to get closer to the fire barrel, then takes a few steps farther away when one of the guards says: "You heard the orders. Go back to your homes."
Brin: roll an Insight check (if you are looking more at the guards) or a Perception check (if you ignore them and keep looking at the barrel).
(The others can argue with the sergeant, or suggest other actions.)
