Froskan launches a Ray of Frost at the bandit leader.

(OOC: For dramatic purposes, I'm going to have Theren's opportunity attack hit for 2 damage. That is the average damage he does, with a 40% chance of hitting the bandit leader.)

Froskan's Ray of Frost coats the bandit leader in ice, but his rage at Jack has not cooled. Jack responds in kind, plunging the dagger through the metal sheet covering his chest. The leader collapses, Jack's dagger in his non-beating heart.

Af takes advantage of Reverie's smite, by walking up to the ogre and bashing her with his mace. Attack with advantage: 15 Damage: 7

Katrina will use up her last spell slot for more magic missiles. Damage: 5 + 2 + 5

(Theren is freed up for melee attacks with advantage on the Ogre. Do not need to do the round 1 opportunity attack.)

It used to be "public"=DDB members  and "private"=local friends, and "recruiting" and "closed" were the tags for joining the campaign or not.

I will change the "public" to "private" to remove this confusion.)

Theren attacks the Ogre with his swords (and advantage!)

Attack: 15 Damage: 9

Bonus Attack: Attack: 13 Damage: 4

Sneak Attack: 1

Theren's strong-hand swing is deflected by the ogre's massive arm. But that allows his second strike to go in the armpit, deep into the chest for 20 damage. (Critical also doubled the Sneak Attack.) The she-Ogre is at 51 damage total. Most intelligent creatures would try to flee or surrender now, but as a wise man once said, a raging ogre just wants to see the world burn.

She stands up, and swings her great club at Theren: Attack: 9 Damage: 10

(OOC: Combat would have been different if this ogre could hit. Now I have an IC reason why she was left behind during the caravan raid... I'll let combat go another round, so we see who gets to role-play the bragging about taking down this mountain of blubber.)

Round 3, party members are up.

Froskan touches his diamond and launches a frozen ball of ice (Chromatic Orb cold) at the ogre. 

Attack: 19 Damage: 10

(That puts the ogre over 60 damage.) The she-ogre takes the blue Orb from Froskan in the face, and falls over motionless. (OOC: Combat is over.)

Behind a nearby tree, you find several sacks that the ogre was carrying. It is mostly personal effects (like family mementos), but there will likely be rewards for their return. You also notice that one sack is somehow holding a small dining table, several chairs, and other large items. Your group will have to wash it a few times to get rid of the ogre smell, but you have a bag of holding.

(OOC: I assume you'll be returning to the caravan with the loot, which all of you will need to help carry, along with evidence that the worst of the bandits have been stopped. You have a chance to talk about whatever you want. I'll post a follow-up in a few hours.)

(Who wants to carry back the leaders corpse? Just saying. Jack would likely put it in a bonfire.)

Jack grunts, then kicks the bandit's body a little. He goes over to Theren. "Good fight! Whew, needed that exercise. Don't pay any attention to anything I said. That guy was delusional, and it was an intimidation tactic I learned as a marine. He thought I was someone else, so I used that to my advantage. Now who wants to help carry back this guys dead body as proof this is over?"

(OOC for Jack: There should be enough room in the bag of holding for a human corpse, in addition to the crappy dinner table and wooden chairs. And you know of a nearby log cabin that should probably be condemned... You don't need the whole body as proof. The armor and his weapon will be sufficient.)

Jack takes the Bag of Holding, and stuffs his corpse into it. Jack takes his weapon though, and takes a nice long look at it, then puts it into his backpack. 

"Ah, ok, now, any other proof we need?"

Reverie sighs as she stretches herself before she turns around to see Jack. "Well, if we need to... It would be the ogre's weapon. It could be a great proof than... taking her head." She says as a pause settles on her feature. "... What are you going to do with the body of this chief?"

"Burn it. Unless you have something better to do with it. Don't worry, I'll take his armor off first." Jack takes the Ogres weapon and stuffs it into his pack if he can. (personally, I can't believe no ones mentioned Jacks constantly changing accent of ye, you, me and my. I find that funny, in a way.)

Reverie didn't say much as she watches Jack before she helps him put a weapon of the ogre. ”Is there a specific reason? That man’s word sounds like he knows you.”

"Like I said, intimidation tactic. That guy was delusional. And why burning him? He doesn't deserve a funeral."

(OOC: Please continue the discussion for now.

While it won't happen for a few more days in game time, you might as well give your characters another 600 XP and advance to Level 3, when convenient.)

Reverie frowns as she watches Jack and listens to his reason. "Jack, are you sure that's all your reason?" Now, she wants to see if he is hiding something about the bandit leader.

"That is all my reason. Why would I have any other reason?" Ooh, this sounds fun, can we allow this?
