While the last goat rammed Af, it gave Reverie a chance to finally put it down.
Jupiter skewers the last wolf with his spear, then charges behind the dire wolf.
Jack's bravado fades as his dagger cannot penetrate the dire wolf's tough hide. But he still yells out words of encouragement (to Jupiter), even though the wolf is opening its enormous jaws in front of him.
Reverie, confident after striking down the giant goat, cuts into the wolf.
Katrina drags the fallen Froskan away from the wagon, and revives him with the healing spell. Grateful, he shoots off a ray of frost which blasts the wolf.
Af is still a bit woozy from being trampled, but his radiant Sacred Flame burns the side of the wolf. And before the wolf can bite off Jack's head, Theren puts his short sword through its eye. The dire wolf sighs (Jack and Theren discover that it had really, really bad breath), and crashes down.
After the battle
The head merchant Merle rides up on his horse shortly afterward. The entire caravan was attacked by the pack of wolves, which left a number injured, but no fatalities. He is impressed at how quickly your group of novice fighters won, but hides it with a curt "Well done".
The merchants help you cut up the goats (for meat) and the wolves (to dispose of the vile bodies). Inside the dire wolf's stomach, a mostly-digested hand is found, which has a ring with a small topaz on it. Merle will have it appraised for you (your spoils of war), so expect a few GPs to be paid to you later.
That night, you are exhausted, but still manage to do guard shifts. (Long rest: HP back to max, spell slots refreshed)
The next day of travel is blessedly uneventful. That evening, the caravan stops at a small village. You still have to sleep in tents, but it is safe enough there that you can relax that night without guarding. The merchants you protected have brought you a small cask of ale, and you got the prime cuts of the goat to roast over the campfire.
(I will be somewhat busy for the next day-and-a-half. Please use this time to role-play, get to know each other (in-character), boast about your past, and figure out what you might want to do after the end of this trip.)

A young man approaches you before the ale cask is opened. You recognize him as a blacksmith's apprentice. "You may not remember me, but I was also getting sword instruction the same time you were. I didn't have the sword skills, but I knew you were destined for greatness... I saw you trying to do the master's sword kata during the battle, but the longsword was too unwieldy to be used with your dagger... I've also seen you polishing your halberd, which looks unused... If you like, I could trade your halberd for this sword I made." (A scimitar.) "It would be a loss for my coin purse, but the best weapon I've ever made should be in the hands of a true warrior like you. You'll be able to make the swift strokes to do the kata with the dagger." He then bows and walks back to the other tradesmen.
(If you chose, remove Reverie's halberd, and add a scimitar.)

Af, on his own since the since early evening, arrives at the campfire as the cuts of goats arrive. "Looks good."He says as he sits down around the campfire
He stares into the fire feeling the warmth. He looks around and watches the others. He smiles. He hasn't been around this much people ever. He remembers being from the city of Nunkreet when he was young but he grew up in a village away from the city life. There's a bit of excitement, but he doesn't really show it on his face. Yet, there's a bit of uneasy feeling. Brushing that aside, he grabs a stick stokes the fire and have it burn brighter.
Katrina's grin, already wide from how exciting the whole situation is, grows even wider when she sees the ale. Only being 53 (quite young for an elf, as people in her vilalge were quick to remind her), she hadn't really had much of a chance to try anything like that. There had been the odd bit of cheap wine, here and there, but she is eager to try something new. She got herself two mugs of it before sitting down next to Af. Here eyes are bright in the light of the fire, though with how excited she is they would probably be bright even in the deepest cave. She bounces up and down a little with joyful energy before saying, "That was Sacred Flame that you cast before, right? I've always wanted to learn a spell like that! The closest I have is Create Bonfire. I mean, it's an okay spell, but it's nowhere near as impressive as Sacred Flame!"
Jack chugs some ale, and sighs, with a happy smile on his face, despite the previous events today.
He walks up to Theren, and congratulates him.
"Hello. I would like to thank ye for that manuever with the sword through the wolfs head. Ye saved me head. Any chance you want some ale? Its better than the rations here."
Blushing, but you can't really tell, Af replies, "Thank you. Create Bonfire is a great utility spell. Sacred Flame are great for adversaries, but not great for starting a simple camp fire." He stokes it more. "It works on living things, and especially undead living things." He chuckles at his oxymoron. He grabs the gold chain from his mace and guides his hand to the end with the holy symbol which glimmers with the fire. He casts Light onto the symbol. "But this is my light for the darkness. *pauses* Thank you, Lathander for our group's victory today."
He lets go of the symbol and sticks out his hand for a handshake. "Katrina, right? Great job healing today. It's good to see another healer in the ranks."
Katrina eagerly shakes Af's hand. "Yep, Katrina York! I'll admit, it was kinda scary when I actually got close to that dire wolf. I'm glad everyone was there to fight it, or I'm sure I would have died." Despite the morbid subject, her chipper tones doesn't change. She quickly switches to another topic, though it's less out of a sense of akwardness and more because she doesn't have much more to say on the matter. She is grateful to her companions, and that is it. No point dewlling on death. "So, you're a follower of Lathander? I've read as much as I could find about him, but I'll admit I don't know all that much."
When she sees a young man and recognizes who he was, she only smiled at him before she heard his offer. Exchange her halberd with a scimitar... Indeed, she hasn't been able to use it before the joining the caravans. "It would be my honour to have this kindness from you," she speaks quietly as she hands her halberd to him. "Please take care of it and give it to someone who could use it better than I am."And then, she accepts a scimitar. Reverie sighs deeply as she looks up to the starry sky. It was a sudden event and it already exhausted her after the battle. Still, she is grateful that she is still alive at this moment after the fight. As she looks down on her new weapon, she sips of ale before gazes at the group.

Froskan hears Katrina and Af talking about spells. "I can't make something the size of a bonfire, but I'm quite handy for anything smaller," he says, waving a hand and using Prestidigitation to snuff the campfire. After a moment, he waves his hand again and reignites the flames. "Though I'm really better with cold spells than I am with fire."
OOC: Sorry, pretty new to playing a Rogue. Appreciate the help.
Theren takes in Jack's appearance with polite interest. "No trouble, better to have living friends than dead ones. Happy to watch your back if you watch mine, and I'd love some ale, I've never had any. Is it good?" he asks with child-like wonder in his eyes.
"You've never had ale? Me goodness, you're missing out! Here you go!" Jack hands him some ale and gives a chuckle. "And sure, I'll watch yer back. Say, want to see something? I thought this was cool when I was first showed this trick." Jack pulls out a boomerang and hands it to Theren. "Chuck this out there at nothing as hard as you can! Just make sure not to hit anythin', alright?" He then starts beating on his drum slightly, readying the Mage hand cantrip to catch it in midair.
"Lathander represents a new dawn, new beginning. Starting anew with healing and light." Af preaches, but he says it more out loud for himself to hear.
He turns to the dragonborn, "Hey Froskan." Af recognizes the dragonborn. He sees him use his Prestidigitation on the campfire. When he snuffs it out, Af's heart skips a beat. But just like that, as Froskan returns the fire, Af quickly stokes the flame. "That's very clever. And I do like the cold." Af says quickly, hoping no one notices his sense of panic. "So, what brings you to this caravan leading into Nunkreet?" He asks.
Theren takes ale gladly, and the boomerang. "Thank you! Alright, I'll give it a go." he says a bit nervously, and hurls the boomerang into the air with all his might.

Jack smiles as a hand appears to catch the boomerang and tosses it back. Jack catches it and, when the beat stops, the hand disappears. "Cool, right? And isn't the ale delicious? So why're ye here? What brings you to a dump like this?"
“Hi Af,” Froskan replies. “I’m hoping to find new teachers that can gain me further in the use of my magic.” He waves a hand again and a scale image of an adult silver dragon appears in front of him (Minor Illusion). “And I’ve always hoped I could someday meet a full dragon....” he says, indicating his own silver scales.”
"You're looking for teachers, too?" Katrina gasps at Froskan. She claps quietly a few times, too excited to sit still. "That's great! Maybe we could practice together sometime! I'm no teacher, obviously, but I think everyone has something they can show others, don't you? I'd love to learn something like Minor Illusion! It's so useful!" The only magic-users that Katrina had ever been around were far more advanced than she is (and most of them were often a little unhinged), so she is eager to practice with someone at least a little closer to her level of skill. Although she is sure he is a little more advanced than her, considering how casually he used magic while talking.
Reverie watches and listens to the events by the campfire. When the illusion of a silver dragon shows, the reaction from Katrina made her smile a bit. Then, she gazes at Jupiter who is also quietly listening to the conversation from the campfire. Debating if she should joining in his silence and listening to the conversation together or not, she walks towards him quietly and asks, “do you mind if I sit next to you?”
