(Merregons are devils, not demons. Those are standing outside the leaders 12:00 cave and blocking that door (post 1360)... You haven't seen the demons yet. Only know what the interpreters and that soldier have said.)

Going down from the ledge, the passageway is just as claustrophobic as on the way up. Isk reaches the bottom, and peers out. Despite the movement of sahuagin nearby, he is well hidden. Peering into the other corridor (5:00), he is barely able to make out the sea elf scout in hiding. Isk puts out his arm, and raises his thumb. The scout makes a slight head nod, then disappears as he steps away.
The party waits in this cramped passageway for several minutes, eager to stretch your limbs. Then there are multiple shouts from the west. (Can't be seen from your current position.) Then sounds of spell explosions, and more than one conch shell being blown in alarm. All of the sahuagin in sight grab their weapons and equipment, and scramble to the SW corner of the cavern.
Your party cautiously steps out from the passage into the main cavern. At 12:00 in the chamber, the massive door is still closed. A handful of sahuagin are trying to reach the door, but the Merregon devils are blocking them from interrupting the leaders. All of the remaining sahuagin are in a mob in the southwest corner, trying to push through the exit to go outside (where the sounds of fighting can be heard). The passageway is open, but the disorderly rush of fish-soldiers has created a traffic jam.
As long as the party hugs the outside wall of the cavern and moves carefully, you will be able to reach the entrance of the prisoner's cave (3:00) without being noticed. (No rolls needed.)

Upon reaching the entrance to the prisoner's cave, Isk with summon his glaive again and take up a martial stance, ready for whatever demons might be in the room.
Reverie looks at the other companions and then waits for the distraction as she readies herself with her scimitar and a dagger.

(The distraction is happening (post 1412, 2nd paragraph)... A few of the fish-soldiers are trying to push past the devil guards at 12:00, the rest are trying to exit the hall at 7-8 o'clock. That's why your group can move from 5:00 to 3:00 in the central cavern, without having to roll for Stealth.)

From outside the east cave (at 3:00), you only have a limited view inside, while staying under cover in the main cavern. (You will see more in the east cave, after you enter it.)
You only see the southern edge of the cave. Don't know how far north it goes. The eastern edge of the cave is 80 or 90 feet away. You see a 10' x 10' cage in the SE corner of the cave, made of bamboo and thick sea plants. You can't see through the bars from this distance, but faint whimpering and moaning can be heard from it.
Fifty feet away from you (and 10' west of that cage) is a humanoid shaped figure facing the cage. It is moving erratically north and south, not moving any closer to the cage. It is hard to tell what the figure is from this distance. It's orange-green skin seems to be crawling and twisting on its back.
(While Reverie was on the ledge, she and Jack discussed the possibility of using Divine Sense. In this situation, this being is within range, and there are no walls between it and Reverie.)

The Divine Sense lasts only a few seconds. During that time, Reverie senses that the 4 demons are in a north-south line, averaging 10' apart, randomly pacing side-to-side. (The rest are too far north to be seen from your current position.) They are Rutterkin, base demons warped by a terrible disease from the Abyss. Their skin and sinews literally crawl and bulge across their bodies
Like other demons, they have resistance to cold, fire, and lighting, and immunity to poison. As weaker demons, they are affected normally by non-magical weapons. In packs, they project a wave of revulsion and fear, which can affect even hardened adventurers. (Who knows how long the prisoners have been tormented.) If you are bitten by the teeth in their hands, beware of the disease it carries. If you are rendered unconscious while infected, you would be transformed into an Abyssal Wretch.
