”Yeah, but how do we get them, let alone find them. I have Faerie Fire, but I can’t do me thing with them nearby. We need to wait for the signal. In the meantime, let’s brainstorm. Ideas? Suggestions? Maybe a little divine sensing? Magic? Isk? Jack shoots Isk with a glare. “Ye got anything?”
"I can use my Divine Sense if it would work," Reverie says as she starts to think deeply about the plan. "They seem to argue each other and having different ideas even though they are working together. While they are too distract to each other or get attack by the allies, we can go in right away."

DMing "Gallia Campaign 1".

“No, you’ll let them know we’re here. They can’t be nearby for Faerie Fire, or they’ll see it. We just need ideas for when the mergolk have our backs.”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Isk tisks at the lack of martial drill in the Merrow and says, "Ugh, fish..." dismissively.
Does Isk know anything about the Merregon or Erinyes from his time crusading against evil? Namely, what they might be doing allied with the Sahuagin?
History: 18
He looks a Trimyrai and says, "Thaumaturgy is a good thought, but I believe our merfolk companions are going to be proving most of the distraction. Were they waiting for us to signal them or should we wait for them to get the party started?"
(I meant for the signal to be the other way around... When your group thinks you know where to get the prisoners, you go back down the hidden passage and you signal the elf scout. Then, that guy goes outside and tells the merfolk to start fighting at the main entrance to distract the sahuagin. While that is going on, your party will be able to move about more freely.
For Reverie's Divine Sense, it works for beings "within 60 feet of you that are not behind total cover". This size of this cavern and the walls will be a problem.
Made an edit for the leaders conversation. I realized that the words I chose were misleading, instead of helping... At the start of that section, instead of the Sahuagin Baron saying, "We have delivered the prisoners", it now says "You have inspected the slaves from our side of the bargain.")

The Sahuagin, Merrow, and their deity Umberlee are all Chaotic Evil. Devils are Lawful Evil.
They might work together for mutual benefit, but they still want their own side to end up dominant. The previous conversation sounded more like a business deal than a true alliance.

For convenience, let's say this central cavern is round, and has side caverns and passages on the outside like the numbers on a mechanical clock.
The way you came in (and met the sea elf scout) is at 4 o'clock
The ledge you are currently on (and the narrow passage down) are at 5
The main entrance is at 7 through 8
The leaders of both factions left a big side cave at 12 (post 1359), walked to a cave at 3, then left that cave while upset (post 1360) and returned to 12. During the time that the door was open at 12, it looked like resting area of the Sahuagin Baron (rock walls were chiseled smoother, fancier seaweed to brighten up the place, etc.)
There are other caves or passages at 9, 10, 11, 1, and 2. Might be something at 6, but that is the only spot you can't see from the ledge

Earlier, Trim mentioned Thaumaturgy. And both Froskan and Trim can cast Prestidigitation. Checking all the side caves 1-by-1 will take a long time, and certainly cause the party to be discovered eventually... Here is an offer to get more information, from the safety of the ledge.
Your group can do some whispered ventriloquism on the closest sahuagin below your ledge, to try to trick him into saying something useful. But here are the rules:
Since none of you speak Sahuagin, you can only use words that were spoken by the Baron or his interpreter. You are allowed to add common words that you may have heard around the hall, like "food', "fish", or "spear", but don't overdo it.
I'd need 2 Performance rolls: 1 from either Froskan or Trimyrai (Prestidigitation caster), and 1 from whoever is deciding on the message to be whispered
The shorter the message the better. A long message will allow the listener realize that words aren't pronounced properly, or with the wrong accent.
You don't have to do this, but the offer is on the table if you'd like to try it. (If you have something else you'd like to do, suggest it.) Even though only 2 will make Performance rolls for the message, you do have time to discuss it as a group.

(Wait! Would we have heard Sahuagin for Sahuagin? And doesn’t Reverie understand it thanks to the helmet?)
(That was the idea. You've heard some Sahuagin, which Reverie translated for you. So you can piece together Sahuagin words from the Baron and his translator, but you can't construct a sentence from words you haven't heard.)

(in their language, of course)
(Oh... I don't see the word "Sahuagin" coming up in their conversation. You'd have to work around that. Maybe rearrange the acolyte's words and use "servants of... the great goddess"?)

”Everyone. Listen up. Trim, Frisian, I have a plan. Why don’t ye use Predistigination to get one to tell us something? Tell it in Sahuagin... Um... ‘Fish Men, Great Servants of the Great Godess, I want the Slaves and Prisoners, and Magic Items, Gathered in the Churches in Nunkreet, Gifts for Your Lord. You will pay if you keep those pets.’ ?”
Maybe if we heard the word Be in the background, we can add ‘you will be gathered in the east as a payment for your Lord’s wishes’ ? Quasimodal, please? I worked hard for that.
