Hanzo sits with the old man. “I don’t mean to be so forward but I’d like to talk to you about *whispers* what you heard from the other side. My ship was attacked by men claiming to be from the other side but we all thought they were lying, until today when I heard your claims in the market.”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Before the old man can respond, you (Briar) are interrupted by the greeting and offer of a drink to the old man. surprised, you turn to see a blue man with a crystal mohawk, holding 2 pints of ale. Additionally, you notice 2 dwarves sitting at the bar, starring inquisitively while they eat.
The old man looks surprised by Hanzo's offer but graciously accepts. "Why thank you. It's not every day I am offered a drink from a Genasi. Have a seat."
Briar looks up at the Genasi Insight5 in an attempt to size him up as she slowly rises to her feet and offers her seat to the Genasi, moving off to side turning to old man and speaking normally, "I will leave you two alone to talk but will remain close by should you need me or wish to continue our conversation."Briar then respectfully and politely bows to both men and steps back to take a spot in the corner on the floor taking out her WyrwoodViolto play a tune for those in the tavernPerformance16 and allow herself time to think, reflect and keep an eye on those in the room but especially keeping a closer eye on the dwarves, etc.
keep in mind that you never heard any conversation that Briar now speaks of.
@Briar
Your dazzling performance on the wyrwood has drawn the attention of everyone in the tavern. chairs are knocked over, as the people begin to dance and shout, toasting and drinking recklessly.

Biar smiles slightly happy to see the people in the tavern enjoying her music continues to play herViol and keep an eye on things but is not concerned with what is being said in regard to the old man and his Genasi friend. Briar, however, will remain watchful for potential signs of danger that might yet arise. Still, in range of the old man with her telepathy, she will give him plenty of time and room to come back to his conversation with Briar on his own terms in his own good time... when he is ready. Until then she is in no rush or hurry so, for now, ignores him and the others and just plays and keeps an eye out.
You hear the conversation between the ganasi and the old man in its entirety, however, given the noise brought about by the playing of the wyrwood, you must stay intently focused on the conversation. if your attention wanders, you can no longer hear what they say. it is also fairly obvious that you are listening, and the bartender has noticed the attention this old man has drawn from now 3 different individuals. She also finds it rather odd that Briar mentioned a conversation, as the bartender had heard no such dialogue.
Terrance will turn from the genasi's conversation back to Zaroc and (speaking in Dwarvish now that they are close to the old man) say "It sounds like our blue-skinned, crystal-headed friend over there also has interests beyond the barrier." Terrance turns to the barkeep in hope that the she may know something of this old man.
Still in Dwarvish he calls to her "Lass, would you be able to help a couple of brethren out. We've tasted your divine food and seen the joy men have taken in your ale so this is clearly a well toward establishment. That man over there" Terrance points at the old man but tries to play it off as scratching his chin "claims to have received a message from beyond the barrier. That kind of nonsense can only be bad for business. Think what could happen if the guards found out you let such a man - a man they are seeking after he set some of them on fire no less - drink and eat in your bar. We wish to be of some assistance to you as our purposes seem to have found common cause. We would like to quieten this mans mutterings and any information you could possibly share with us about him would be most appreciated. Is he a regular? Have you seen him before? Or have you noticed anything about him since he walked in?"
Aye, he comes in here all the time. Tho I must admit he usually does not draw this much attention until after he has had a few too many and starts his beyond the barrier mumbo jumbo. I have never seen him set anyone on fire tho. (her eyes get bigger with intrigue) How big were the flames? Were the guards badly burned?
"Big enough to be called a burst of flames at the very least. He gave two men second degrees which, while not life threatening, wasn't very nice. I suggested they seek out a healer and have come to investigate more myself. Has he been coming here long? And do you know where he comes from each day?"
Fraid not. He has always been pretty mysterious if you ask me. But he always pays, which is enough for me to ignore his outbursts. Assaulting royal guards tho... tsk tsk tsk. serious offense that is.
"Ah I see, Well it looks like I may have to take my companion Zaroc's advice and speak to the man myself. I, Terrance Fimbulvinter thank you for your help Miss...?" And he raises an eyebrow inquisitively.
The old man is sitting at the bar, not a table. you are like, 2 stools away from Terrance, and he rolled a 21 perception to listen to your conversation. however his concentration has now been broken, so he wont hear what you say now.
Biar for her part continues to play her viol just watching things like people's body language, etc.... not attempting to eavesdrop (playing the viol right up against her ear kind of makes that self-defeating) so she remains totally oblivious to actual conversations from anyone. What she is more on the lookout for is geared toward potential trouble/violence about to erupt, like someone with an aggressive stance or body movement, drawing a weapon on the sly, casting a spell with a somatic or material component (that she can see) or what have you in a passive manner.
@datgirl, what are the chances I overheard their conversation? Passive Perception of 15, and a perception check of 18 if either helps (sorry Idk how to roll though this website- I am also on my phone).
If I overhear their conversation, I immediately relay vital information I hear to Terrence when there is a pause in their conversation.
If not, Zaroc just listens to Terrence & the bartenders conversation. He’s along for the ride at this point
You are able to hear what the genasi is saying, however the old man is too far away and speaking too softly for you to hear over the drunken commotion.
Terrance swivels round on his stool so that he is facing away from the bar, his eyes pass over the room seeing the drunken revellers at the large table and the waifish human playing the viola. He looks over at Zaroc "Guess it's time for your approach" and then he hops down off the stool with the aim to head towards the old man.

The Tune that Briar Plays on her Viol
Terrance moves up the bar and tries to surreptitiously here what the genasi is saying. (Perception 18 if you need it)

@Ducolis & Rasquin
You approach the Bottom Rock Tavern and you can easily hear a wyrwood being played, as well as lots of commotion resembling a rowdy celebration.

Battlehammer. Amber Battlehammer.
Would the dwarfs of heard what I said? I whispered it to the old man and we’re at a table and they’re at the bar.
