I see my buddy start to reach for his weapon and grasp mine as well. 

“What in the gods name did I get myself into” Zaroc thinks. Ever the pragmatic, he reaches out and tries to catch the silver coin that bounces off of Terrence.

He brandishes the coin towards her and speaks over her playing “Here lass, your playing’s mighty fine and you look like you need this more than I do”

Briar pauses playing to accepts the shiny silver coin from the dwarf looking at him with a coy mischievous grin and thanks him... speaking in a sweet musical voice, "oh my... thank you very much, kind sir!" The young waifish Viol player is dressed rather poorly, in little more than dirty rags, "did you have a special request, a song that you might like to hear? Such a grand generous gesture as yours deserves more than simple thank you. Perhaps a bit of homespun wisdom... I have heard that cucumber seeds have been used as a treatment to remove nasty tapeworms... such dirty little buggers don't you think? That's why I am a vegetarian!" Briar looks up from the floor at the dwarf giving him a sly knowing wink...

simply because of the proximity of everyone, Zaroc does not catch the coin, and the rest of the scene plays out as stated. However, i am now pausing the game for everyone in the tavern to make a new perception check, and wait until Hanzo responds to the old man before i tell you what the perception check is for.

Hanzo replies to the old man “I don’t recall any interesting marking on them they seemed like everyone else, a mix of races, both male and female, their ship looked a little funny though a design I had never seen before. What did you hear? How do you know there’s more out there? Is there a way to get past the wall?”

Old man 19 Perception

The Old man, Hanzo, Briar, and Zaroc  notice 4 royal guards enter the tavern with purpose and authority, scanning the room as if looking for someone

"No lass, think nothing of it" Terrance responds starting to turn away, he stops in his tracks at the mention of the tapeworm and gives her a shrewd look. "Cucumber seeds aye, well I may have to give that a go" He completes his turn thinking this girl may not be all she seems and wondering if the mention of the tapeworm was a coincidence or if she had something to do with his new conscience. Terrance heads back over to Zaroc.

Terrance due to your low perception and timing, you are still looking at the lass playing wyrwood when the guards enter. Ducolis also has his back to the door.

Biar turns her attention away from the Dwarf as she quickly gets the impression the guards are there for the old man, most likely there to arrest him for causing the disturbance and injuries earlier and projects her thoughts with her Awakened Mind, to the old man to silently warn or alert him. 'If you have magic to disguise yourself, best do it quickly or duck for cover behind the bar and hide... and hope for the best.'

As she is doing that Briar jumps to her feet and moves to intercept the royal guards hoping to delay and distract them giving the old man additional time, she casts Druidcraft to create an instantaneous, harmless sensory effect of falling leaves coming down on them as she moves forward to cut them off... her Viol, in one hand and open palm begging with the other hand to the leader speaking out loud, "good day gentleman, welcome, can I play you a tune on my Viol, anything you like for just a copper?"

Hanzo turns back to the old man after seeing the guards enter. “It looks like we’ve run out of time to speak, but I need to know what you heard is there a place we can meet?” Hanzo tries to block the guards view of the old man with his body standing up and leaning over him a bit.

Take the road Northeast out of the city, until you reach the river bridge. I will be waiting under the bridge.

at that moment, the old man slips out of his stool, crouching near Briar. He rips a bit of fleece from his cloak, softly mutters something in a dark voice, pointing in the direction of the small table in the back right corner of the tavern.

Zaroc sees the guards, and it dawns on him that they must be there for the old man Terrence spoke of. He thinks to himself "by the gods, what did I get myself into?!". 

As the woman begins to ask the guards for coin, Zaroc gives Terrence a wink and topples as noisily as possible out of his stool, knocking over as many patrons and glasses as he can on the way down (IDK which you would want me to roll for so I did 3 lol)

You go unnoticed, as it is not uncommon for people in the Bottom Rock Tavern to pass out and violently crash into people and things on their way to the floor.

At that moment, the old man appears standing on the table in the back right corner of the tavern, arms outstretched on each side like a crucifix. His eyes glow red and violent flames rise from his fingers, palms, and forearms.
