"Above this...?"It took Ulroc a second to catch the pun, but once he did he let out a short huff of breath, trying to remain serious. A fruitless act, however, as he was relatively carefree and especially so about his shortcomings. Amongst his people, he was considered taller, and that was good enough for him. "You're lucky I showed up so late, else you'd be picking your nails while I took care of 'em all!"
Ulroc glanced at Kolthar and then the remains, interested in looking over what was left as well, but instead he decided to follow the others into the inn. Once inside, he just about got back to his drink left behind prior to the fight, but he caught by a hug instead from the Horne. Ulroc was caught off-guard by the act, but reluctantly reciprocated it. "No need for that, just carry on!"

Lindal smiles back to the dwarf and his tone turns more serious. " I am just relieved that we all are ok and that we saved that woman. But I am afraid that this will not be the last time they try to kidnapp her." he says to the other paladin while they enter the inn.
Myron whispers to Ulroc, "could you pass on to the others to not mention that I am a Horne. I'd rather not be shunned or have us chased out". He then walks over to the lady and says in a calm tone, "it's very nice to meet you, could you please tell us what happened". While smiling a cherry smile.

Kolthar searches for some clue, but can't appear to find anything.
Glitch, you realise that these people can't have been from here, or anywhere close by. Their armour was odd, gold with a tint of green. They didn't act as you would expect anyone to in the face of defeat, appearing not to feel fear. They also seemed to act on instinct rather than logic.
If anyone wants to see if they can gauge where they came from, make a survival check. If you want to figure what these people are, straight intelligence.
Meanwhile, inside the inn. The woman is shaking, and has taken a seat.
'I don't know why they were chasing me! I was just out in the forest picking berries when they came out of nowhere demanding I came with them. So I ran back home, here!'

As Hektor collects this information in his mind, it fills him with uncertainty. Not nessessaily because he distrusts the woman but, the information gathered thus far leaves many important questions unanswered. He decides to try & subtly inquire about details she may have either forgotten or not realized yet.
"Well, it's good you live in such a loving community m'lady... For give my manners I haven't even gotten your name yet Miss...?"
"Auna is it? Thats a very lovely name madam and it's good that you have such a strong relationship with your community. However there's some things which I'm, why I'm ashamed to admit it I'm having trouble understanding certain aspects of your testimony. Now may I ask where exactly did you go to harvest the berries? As I mentioned earlier, there is a serious famine plaguing the villiage. Most of the food here is being brought in from the other regions as aid which is what I was brought in for to help distribute among other things.. And I must ask, did you go into such a place alone or with someone else? Since you knew of such a place where food was still plentiful enough to warrant collecting then I can't help but wonder why did you not inform anyone else of this in such a dire time? But whats bothering me the most is these strange soldiers.. I can't imagine strange beings like them casually hanging around some berries & bushes in the forest for no reason? And the intense & uncontrollable longing... while I don't believe that you could have a relationship with these creatures, is it possible that maybe they mistook you for someone else? Was there anything you think they might have seen in you as such? Did they call you out by a different name or look like they saw some semblance of someone else in you?"
(Geez I had to rewrite the whole thing! But anyways..)
Hektor tries to carefully read Auna's reactions to his inquiry, hoping that she may unintentionally give away some information she's hiding willingly or unknowingly.
'That's a lot of questions.... Let's see.' She thinks for a moment, sucking in air. 'It's about a mile out to the north, there's nothing much left though. The famine has killed the growth. I went alone, I didn't tell anyone, I saw no need to. I just went there to see if it still grew. I don't know what they thought I was, they just told me to come with them. They just called me their lady.'
She seems to be telling the truth, though she seems to have to think about it a bit.

OOC: intelligence=Nat 20+4, for what the people, we fought, were
You realise that these are definitely not human. The thought that they were possessed crossed your mind... But something felt off about that thought. From your studies, most mass possessions or control needs to be done as a ritual, with symbols perhaps scrawled on the bodies. They didn't seem to have anything written on them. They could also act with some independence.
No, these people were in control. What was off is that they seemed very unintelligent. They seemed to only know one thing, that they wanted this lady. What could do something to someone? You remember a few things that can do something like that to a person. The first that comes to mind, travelling through different planes without caution. These people were from somewhere else.

Ideas were whirling in Myron's head. 'Why would these people travel planes with so little caution, just to get a girl' he thought, then his mind clicked. 'No, not a girl, My Lady, stating that she is a position higher than them. Those guards wore fine equipment, so they are higher than the town guard l, at least. They must have rushed to find the lady, and more will apparently come. Why all the fuss to cross demensions, throwing caution to the wind, to come get a girl. Unless they were desperate, to get her..back' Myron's eyes widen 'A girl, with no family, raised by the village, somehow find berries in the middle of a famine. Next thing we know the guards are chasing her, but not maliciously. They only drew their weapons at us saying, to return their lady. As if she was taken, as if she wasn't from this village, as if she wasn't from this... dimension.' Myron takes quick steps to the the inn keeper, he says to the inn keep in a low whisper, "That girl isn't from here, is she"
'I don't know what you're talking about. She's lived here her whole life...' His words get softer, and she stares at her with a look of happiness. Then his eyes glaze over, similarly to the men outside, and he pulls in close to Myron. 'Give us back our lady.' He whispers. Then, he straightens up, adjusting his clothes. 'Would you like a drink?' He acts as if nothing happened.

'Well time to adjust my theories' Myron thought grimly, 'If this happens not because of possession, and because a planer travel. Why did it affect the inn keep.' he turns and looks at the girl, then back to the man. ' Unless... It is because of the the girl.' Myron takes a deep breath and then loudly addresses his party and the people around him, "All right, someone isn't telling us something. The inn keep just got some glowy eyes temporarily and told me to give him back his lady. The girl is having visible trouble remembering things, and one of my theories right now is that the reason people are acting this way is somehow realated to her being here. Either way, I'd love to have everyone spill any secrets regarding the girl, or apparently, this town"
Ydriss stood there and listened to the conversation as she studied the group seeing as she spent most of her life in her god's temple training to be a Cleric so she hadn't been with others but her own kind.
