Reverie Forestgleam—Human Paladin Level 5 in Frontier City of Nunkreet Extremely busy and busy as ever recently, but I will trying to catch up as much as I can

Barnum seemed unshaken by the outburst of the orcs, and as they were led from the amenities they'd been staying in since coming through the portal, he quickly gathered his weapons and meagre possessions, following the others out of the cell. His impassive glance at the mess across the hall belied a familiarity with death that it seemed was not shared with many of his new companions.
Moving through the corridors, Barnum took the time to glance into each of the doors as they passed. The slightest of chuckles slipped through his beard as Jebben remarked on the orcish tribal conflicts, continuing to follow the Minister to wherever their next destination would be.
As you wander down the hallway, following Minister Trask through the twists and turns of the stone corridor, you pass a number of cells. At the other end of each cell is a small barred window. You glance through this window and see a small outside courtyard surrounded by more cell-blocks, in a square. This must be a walkthrough for the guards. After a few more cells pass, you glance again. You see four figures hunched behind one of the walls. An earth coloured energy is swirling around one of them as he places his hands onto the wall. A couple more cells pass, you spot the stone walls melting as if they were made from candle wax. The other three figures look around behind, making sure nobody is watching.
The cells are suddenly becoming more rowdy. Some seem to panic whilst others try to stick their heads out of the bars, trying to see what's happening in confusion. Minister Trask has a confused look on her face as she turns toward you, still walking forwards. She tilts her head "Hmm, what's all the fuss?" She scans each cell as she walks past.
Wander almsot stips as he sees the fifure glowing with some kind of aura he did not recognize. Being from Eberron he had seen plenty of magic due to it being a part of everyday life, even if he understood little of beyond certain practical applications. "I do not know what is going on but it is certainly strange. It may have something to do with magic...." The warforged says, not quite sure how or if he should explain what he had seen.
Vostariaraises her eyebrows in alarm. "The facility may be under attack, Minister. Some potent magic wielders are breaching the walls. Look through the window into that courtyard."
"Impossible." Minister Trask stops and looks through the cell, and then through the window. Her calm and collective attitude turns and she screams out for the Guards.
"Guards! Guards! To the Courtyard! Stay here, do you understand?" She rushes off ahead and makes a sharp right at a crossroads in the corridor and out of sight. Alarm bells start to ring inside which are almost deafening. The individuals in the holding cells look concerned, and some have backed themselves as far as they can from their windows. Some are obviously families, and clutch their children tightly.
In front of you, the four figures from the courtyard appear, as if from nowhere in a shadowy spiral of magical energy. Now they are within line of sight, you can make out some of their features.
One is a Human in sage green robes. He wears a black bandana over the bottom half of his face, but his hood is down. He has a tome hanging from his belt along with a staff across his back. His hair is a short brown colour, and swept to the side. Another is a Goliath. She is brutish and has tribal tattoos which cover what seem to be her whole body. She wears heavy chain over a black robe. A black helmet shows her facial features. Her Maul is in one hand, whilst another creature is hanging in her other arm.
They carry a Gnome who is wrapped in dirty bed sheets. The Gnome is unconscious, and sways limp in the Goliaths arm.
The other two individuals are both Elven. One male, one female. Apart from their builds, their facial features show that they could indeed be twins. One carries two longswords on either side, and the other one has a bow slung to her back.
The Human looks towards you, then around, looking for a route out. He gestures to the others to start running ahead of you, toward the direction you were walking with Minister Trask.
Vostariawatches the scene impassively, or rather with some detached curiosity. "Very interesting. Intruders, what is it you seek?" she asks in a voice raised against the din.
Ellayne frowns ever so slightly as soon as her mismatched eyes witness the wall that melted abnormally. She remains silence since she wants to make sure she isn't the only one who sees this strange activity from the outside. When the figures start to run towards the direction they were going, Ellayne readies her longbow and arrow, then pointing at one of the figures—to the human sage. "Don't move." She speaks firmly.

Wandee does not act aggressively but moves to lean on his quarterstaff, his eyes focused pn the strange human and his band of rogues. He turns towards Ellayne when she raises the bow with an arrow knocked. "Perhaps it is not so wise to threaten those who we do not know the abilities of. It appears they have some unknown magic."
Her mismatched eyes shift its gaze back to Wander when he advises that her agressive action would not be a wise choice. Ellayne watches him for a second before she goes fixate her gaze again at the human sage. "However, they have invade into this area, giving the fears to the others. I would like to know the reason from them."

Jebben, who had stayed close to Barnum as he followed Minister Trask, watches the scene unfold with widened eyes. When Trasks shouts her commands, the gnome's lips set into a determined grimace. He places his hand on the Barnum's shoulder and stops.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Barnum, could you please watch over me a brief moment as I procure my weapon?" he says, his voice sounding even more friendly than normal, almost magical. "I'm afraid I didn't expect to utilize it within the confines of the transfer area. Once I have it at the ready, I will be more than happy to accompany you!"
Jebben grants Barnum Bardic Inspiration.
[[Gah! Can't figure out how to tooltip link a feature! Here:
Bardic Inspiration: As a bonus action, a creature within 60 ft. that can hear you gains an inspiration die (1d6). For 10 minutes, the creature can add it to one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw. This can be added after seeing the roll, but before knowing the outcome.]]
With that, Jebben puts his traveler's pack on the floor, and begins untying a long, leather cord that holds a cloth-wrapped rapier onto the side of his pack.
The group run toward the exit of the cell block, completely ignoring you as if you didn't even exist. The Gnome bounces up and down in the Goliaths arms, completely limp. The Human in the Green Robes is the last to reach the door, he shouts to his colleagues. "Get her up there! I'll stop anybody following us!"
He touches the door with his Staff, closing his eyes and muttering some words under his breath. Too far away to recognise what he's saying, he opens his eyes again and they are pitch black. Streams of oily smoke belt from his eyeballs and dissipate into the air.
Minister Trask appears from where she ran at the crossroads. "Guards! This way! Block the entrance, they're escaping."
You can see through the door that the Guards are rushing into the room ahead from the other side. The Green Robed Human eyes return to their normal colour. He turns around and begins to run out of sight.
Jebben manages to untangle his rapier from his pack and slide it out of its long, sock-like cloth sack. He stuffs both sack and leather cord into a side pocket of the pack and stands up. With a whoosh-whoosh he takes two practice swings, then settles back on heels, rapier held before him, watching for trouble.

Vostaria begins walking along the tunnel, her curiosity getting the better of her. She moves cautiously, trying to discern what the human in green robes did with his magic.
Wander will hold back as he is still not sure if it is in his best interest to intervene as he did not wish to end up like the orcs for doing something that the elves that ran the place did not like. He grips his staff, slowly moving towards the others in the group. "This is not something we should involve ourselves in.... at least not without the proper knowledge of what is going on."
Ellayne curses under her breathe when the human mage ran out of their sight. Something is weird with that magic he used since her very own eyes witness his eyes turned into a black. She frowns ever so slightly and put down her longbow but still gripping on it and its arrow. “Yes, I agree with Wander. However, I am curious with the gnome who was unconscious in that group.”

Barnum watched the scenes unfolding before him, however, with a similar impassivity to some of the others in their group, he made little effort to intervene. No doubt the guards here had their own established patterns and sequences for dealing with situations like this, and one thing he'd learned - from both sides of the coin - was that it rarely came off well to jump into the middle of an otherwise under control circumstance. Whilst this was a bit chaotic, it was certainly far from out of control.
As the gnome beside him reached out, a strange sensation flowed through Barnum, like some kind of extra strength. He shrugged, his odd accent spitting through his beard.
"Sure. Best being ready for anything that might pop up."
With Jebben rummaging through his sack of possessions, Barnum alternated between looking each way down the corridor they were in, taking stock of his newfound companions' actions, and glancing into the cells that were becoming more rambunctious and disturbed. His own hand curled around the handle of the warhammer, wrist slipping through the leather strap at its end, large, stubby fingers tightened their grasp.
