As Cora and Lilyth continue their friendly chat with Mavren, Zolin begins a slow walk around the camp, in an ever-widening circle, to see if there might be anyone else lurking about.
As you walk around, you have difficulty piercing the darkness and trees around, but you feel that there are no other people around except for this man.
"Making vampires more powerful? I have enough problems with the Blood Sucking Empire as it is!" Sheshka steps through the brush and tree line, finally joining the others, greataxe in tow. The orc slings it over her shoulder and gives the newly found vampire a look of disgust "Hard enough on the waters as is, let alone handing over MORE power to the Empire!"
After circling the camp for a while, and finding nothing of note, Zolin returns to the group. Being the most recent add-on to this interesting party of adventurers, the barbarian is unwilling to offer his opinion regarding Mavren. Zolin does, however, nod his head silently in agreement with Sheshka's commentary on vampires and their empire.
"Ha!" Lilyth forces a laugh. "Welp. That's the chalice we're looking for."
"Considering I am-- was-- from the Blood Sucking Empire, I'm going to leave this choice to you guys. Alante wants it to prevent the Legion from taking over this land, but now that he explained what it does..." She trails off and after a second she turns around. "I don't know if we can really trust Alante..."

Zolin knows nothing about this artifact, Torrezon, or Arguel, but he does know that the phrases the prophet visits my mind and I follow his guidanceseem a bit peculiar. The barbarian can't help but think that Mavren is hiding something.
Zolin, as you listen closely you feel that he seem to be sincere in his so-called faith. A typical devotion that you'd see in higher-ranking priests of the Sun Empire.
This part of the jungle turned out to be vile? What does that mean?
Zolin continues to study Mavren and, trying to seem as non-threatening as possible, he asks the vampire, "Vile, you say? May I ask what you mean by that? To my eyes, there's nothing out of the ordinary here."
“Aside from you.” Lilyth adds in, turning around to point to Mavren.

Anyone may make a History check to recall anything you ever heard that sounds similar to that description, if you have not been in island of Ixalan for long, do so with disadvantage.
OOC: If it's regarding an Undead creature, then Sheshka gets advantage. I'll roll with advantage just to save time. If it doesn't apply, then please just take the first roll.
Sheshka places a hand on her hip and grips the ax lazily in the other. "Something that makes a Priest of the Empire shake in his boots? And it's not me? I'm a little impressed, actually!" With that out of the way, she'll also see if she recalls anything that fits the description.

Ooc: just a reminder this is exactly the artifact Alante was asking you to retrieve
OOC: Sheshka had NO idea what it was for or that it was magical. Now she does lol

"So, is anyone else curious to know how he came to possess this chalice?" asks Zolin. "Tell us about the temple, Mavren."
Cora turns from Lilly and Zolin back to Mavren, awaiting his answer.

Something that moves along with shadows...
History: 5
Mavren's description doesn't seem to match anything that Zolin has ever heard of.
