Innkeeper Bob gives off a huge smile as Quill enters the room. "My girl! Welcome welcome. You did not tell me your friend here was a Bard!"He watched Thom joyfully as he played his Lute and told stories. "Look at my room. It's packed to bursting! This man has brought in customers for me and in all honesty I don't have enough hands to take care of them all. Would you be so sweet to help me with their drinks? I would gladly play you of course!" (CRITICAL PASS: PERSUASION CHECK)
Jadyn snorted, sending ale in a cone in front of her. "150 gold in advance? Child, I'm older than your great-great-great-great-great-great-grandparents. I've seen my share of scams. That you'd try something this stupid on me is insulting. If you're serious about being a guide, we can make an arrangement where our interests are aligned--where your payment depends on reaching our destination, and on our safe return. If not, go find another mark."
FOR DARIEL: Sleeping peacefully in the park Dariel suddenly gets this sense someone is watching him. As his eyes shoot open in shock a woman is seen coming around the fountain, a look of worry in her eyes. (PASS: PASSIVE PERCEPTION CHECK) Though the moon does give off some light you can't make out much of her face. What you can see is what appears to be a small creature sitting precariously on her shoulders.
Salida steps back in order to avoid the spray of ale before rounding on the Cleric. "I don't set the price, Demon Child, Merchant Prince Jobal does. He also doesn't take kindly to those who refuse to give him his pay before leaving for the woods." Salida gives Jady a hard look. "He will get his pay one way or another even if it means he has to crack open a few skulls to get it. Your going to have a hard time finding any guide who would be willing to agree to the demands you make. It's their lives on the line just as much as yours. Unless you give some sort of payment upfront you won't find a guide anywhere in this town who will go with you." She shakes her head in disgust. """If you want to bargain then lets bargain but give me a better offer then that."
"I'm fine with a down payment in advance. But it should be no more than 20% of the expected total, with another 40% when we reach Wyrmheart, and the last 40% when we get back here. If your job is to help us succeed, I want you invested in our success. And if you're confident you can do the job, and acting in good faith, that shouldn't be a problem."
Salida takes a swig from her mug and thinks upon the offer given to her. After a few short moments have passed she begins with her own offer. "Ok, Demon Child. That 20% will go to Jobal who must be paid before we leave. I will accept the rest of your conditions if I get 10% of what ever treasures and other items of value we come across as we find them." (PASS: PERSUASION CHECK)
"That sounds good to me." Jadyn smiled. She produced a sheet of parchment, ink, and quill. "Shall we commemorate our arrangement here, or do we need to talk to Jobal for that?"
Salida nods her head in approval. "It is the Guides responsibility to ensure he gets his payment before we leave. Once I receive the 10 Gold Pieces I can drop it off at Jobal's Villa before we leave." She took the parchment from Jadyn and borrowed the ink and quill to create a document. When she finished she handed it back to Jadyn. "Just ensure everyone in the group signs this document and you shall have your Guide."

Watching the woman warily, Dariel climbs to his feet. He squints in the moonlight, partly trying to make out her featured but even more interested in the creature on her shoulder.
Just as the woman passed by the moon appeared from where it had been hiding behind a dark cloud. It’s light reflected off the fountains clear water and revealed what appeared to be a tiny dragon on the worried woman’s shoulder.(PASS:PERCEPTION CHECK)
Gairlick hops up from his seat and grabs the document. His lips move a little as he reads. With a shrug, he signs his name - "Garlic". "Not sure when we're wanting to get started but I have a couple of things I'd like to grab. Since it's a little late I'll do some shopping first thing... So midday tomorrow? And about how far to these mines?"
Damien looks over the document over Gairlick's shoulder. Then casually looks up at Salida, "This last bit only applies for when your guiding us. Savy?"
Giving the matter no further care, Damien nods then signs his name. Once that is done, he reaches in and passes her the 10 GP for the start of the contract, letting everyone else sign it to.
"We ought to be leaving by tomorrow at some time before dusk. That good with you?"
At Dariel's voice the woman jumps back and grabs the edge of the fountain for support. Her eyes, large and fearful, searched about the area nervously. "She is Pseudodragon..." The woman speaks softly. "Im.. Im sorry.. but I.. where are you... who are you?"
Jadyn looked over what Salida had written. "Oh, this won't do..." She took the quill and wrote a new contract:
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS Jadyn, Dariel, Rand, Quill, Damien, Lesnalore, and Gairlik (hereafter collectively, PARTY) wish to secure guidance in the wilderness of Chult (hereafter WILDERNESS);
WHEREAS Salida (hereafter SALIDA) wishes to engage in gainful employment;
THEREFORE:
A. SALIDA agrees to guide PARTY from Port Nyanzaru (hereafter NYANZARU) through WILDERNESS to the Wyrmheart Mine (hereafter WYRMHEART) and back to NYANZARU without undue delay.
B. PARTY agrees to pay SALIDA: 1) 10 gold pieces upon execution of this contract, 2) 20 gold pieces upon PARTY's safe arrival at WYRMHEART, 3) 20 gold pieces upon PARTY's safe return to NYANZARU, and 4) additional gold pieces equal in value to 10% of the value of treasure found while SALIDA is guiding PARTY, whether that treasure is in the form of gold pieces or other valuable items.
C. This contract will be considered executed when SALIDA and all members of PARTY have signed it.
D. This contract will be considered completed when 1) PARTY has returned safely to NYANZARU, and 2) PARTY has made all agreed-to payments to SALIDA, or 3) if all members of PARTY are dead, or 4) if SALIDA is dead, or 5) if 365 days have passed.
E. PARTY shall have the right to terminate this contract early, so long as PARTY makes all payments to which SALIDA is entitled at the time this paragraph is invoked, including 10% of treasure found as of that time under paragraph B(4) above.
F. SALIDA shall have the right to terminate this contract early, so long as 1) SALIDA offers to guide PARTY back to NYANZARU from wherever they are in WILDERNESS at the time this paragraph is invoked, 2) SALIDA forfeits treasure share payment under paragraph B(4), and 3) if PARTY has reached WYRMHEART, payment under paragraph B(2) is due, and payment under paragraph B(3) will be due either when PARTY safely returns to NYANZARU or when PARTY rejects SALIDA's offer of return guidance under paragraph F(1); if SALIDA invokes this paragraph before PARTY has reached WYRMHEART, payments under both paragraphs B(2) and B(3) are forfeit.
G. PARTY shall have the right to add additional destinations for an additional payment to be agreed upon in writing by PARTY and SALIDA.
"Since part of your Party has already signed the previous agreement I would normally hold them accountable to it." Taking the old agreement she walked over to the hearth and threw it into the open flames. "But I am not that kind of Guide." Taking the new contract she signed her name on the line. Then handed it to the next person to be signed. "The Mines are to the South. It's exact location is not marked on any current map but I know the general location. I will get us there as long as you come prepared. I would highly consider finding a pack animal. We are going to need plenty of supplies where we are going."

Dariel holds a hand out in front of him, palm up, and murmurs, “Flickum Bicus.” A small flame appears in his hand, lighting up the area. “Dariel,” he says, waving his other hand at himself.

(Can I tell in the dark what it is?)

Damien looks over the document over Gairlick's shoulder. Then casually looks up at Salida, "This last bit only applies for when your guiding us. Savy?"
“Obviously” Salida spoke as a matter of fact.
Giving the matter no further care, Damien nods then signs his name. Once that is done, he reaches in and passes her the 10 GP for the start of the contract, letting everyone else sign it to.
"We ought to be leaving by tomorrow at some time before dusk. That good with you?"
Dariel lets out a gasp and takes a step closer to the woman. “Dragon...” he whispers.
At Dariel's voice the woman jumps back and grabs the edge of the fountain for support. Her eyes, large and fearful, searched about the area nervously. "She is Pseudodragon..." The woman speaks softly. "Im.. Im sorry.. but I.. where are you... who are you?"

Damien shrugs his shoulders at the newer, and in his opinion, needlessly wordy, contract.
