Chipgrin shrugs, "You are my envoys. If you need proof to be convincing, Orubis can show you where the sea of slime is. He'll be able to heal your burns, since you gift-less don't heal so well."
Taking your leave of the plateau with Chipgrin's throne (area 5), Orubis leads you east back to the refuse pile (area 3). Just past the refuse pile is another trap he warns you about, with words this time. You all arrive at a narrow corridor (area 6).
The walls of this great cavern are covered in slime — dripping, sickening green slime. Echoes of dripping water also fill the cave, in the center of which is a large spherical structure is held up off the floor by stone pillars. Around these pillars crawl dozens of living oozes, heaving forward while reaching out with grasping pseudopods. The sphere’s surface, like the cave walls, is covered with slime. Black slime swirls with yellow and gray slime in a disgusting soup, the unearthly patterns in the movements of the slime straining your eyes and tugging at your mind.
Given an example and guidance from the deep gnomes, the rest of the party successfully remain silent and out of sight, and are able to observe the sea of slime without provoking any response.

Rodolfo whispers to Orubis, "Your leader mentioned that you have been keeping it at bay and were you to leave then bad things would happen. What exactly do you do?"
He also tries to discern anything relevant to the "keeping at bay" that could be visible in the area (perception check: 7)
Rodolfo notices that the oozes and slimes seem to be rather passive. They are gathered in numbers in the chamber ahead and seem to just be staying there, even with your party so close.
Rodolfo draws the attention of the others and backs off quietly the way they came, gesturing that they should all leave. Around the corner he says in a hushed tone, "That is a lot of ooze or oozes. What are they doing there? We should probably report back to the others what we saw here."

Orubis shrugs and you see him kick and punch and splash a bit of radiant energy around himself. “With a bit of hyah! Huh! Hoo! And a lot of that.”
Unlike Drax, my reflexes are too slow to catch references that whistled unobserved past my head.

Orubis looks at the king a bit surprised but shrugs as he turns back to the rest of you.
“I can do a lot of things, but sure. Whatever is the will of the Mushroom Prince.” He holds up the tiny box hanging around his neck and sniffs it.

Rodolfo says, "Lets go see the sea of slime ourselves and then return to talk to Diggermattocks. After you, Orubis"
Orubis will lead them to the Sea of Slime if they’re done chatting

Haha, this made me laugh. I'm kind of sad the others haven't played off this.
What's the plan now? Head back to report to the Diggermattocks?
If that's some sort of reference to something - I don't get it - which is probably why I made no play off of it.
As for the plan - I guess we take what we've learned back to the Diggermattocks then?

Have you never seen a kid pretend to karate? They kick and punch while making noises, like "Hyah! Huh! Hoo!"

Oops. This was supposed to all be in the OOC thread. Can we move this to OOC?
Rodolfo rolls his eyes at Orubis and says, "Without doing yippikayee and cachingggg? No wonder so many made through."
He continues, "But okay. Are you prepared to .... perform? ... present .... this knowledge to the Diggermattocks? As in are you coming with us?"
