You all return the same way you arrived, passing the collapsed stones in the refuse chamber and past the still exposed spike pit Skameros fell into. Banging on the door and answering a myriad of questions to prove you are who you say you are gets the door opened and you once again re-enter Inner Blingdenstone. Your party is escorted to meet the Diggermattocks who were busy administering to the daily grind of running the semi-organized government of the settlers. They drop their tasks to hold an impromptu meeting, Senni looking hopeful and Dorbo giving the stink-eye to Orubis. They sit patiently waiting for your report.
Beegred: "We found out that your last name was Diggermattocks." (notices the looks of annoyance from everyone) "They didn't tell us, so I figured they didn't know either."

Trying to make Beegred feel a little better, "I mean, I did learn that... though I've only been here a short time. Also, it was pretty obvious from context..." He shrugs. "Anyways, there is a large group? gathering? pile? of slimes and puddings amassed just outside the borders controlled by someone known as the Pudding King. The wererat contingent has been slowly whittling down their numbers as they come through, but are ready to abandon the fight entirely. It seems likely the colony would not survive without the support they are currently providing. They are asking for assistance in dealing with this threat, as it endangers both your and their community."
Senni and Dorbo indicate they need to discuss, walk out of earshot and turn their backs. It is obvious that Dorbo is animated while Senni is trying to settle him down. They return a few minutes later, Senni speaking, "Well, it seems this Pudding King must be the Faceless Lord the oozes keep blasting in everyone's minds. If this Pudding King is here in Blingdenstone, then it at least somewhat explains why there are so many oozes coming through."
Fully aware that Orubis is new to the party, and a bit too scruffy for a 'proper' svifneblin, she directs her next question at him, "And how are we supposed to help? You think this Pudding King can be delt with?"
“Oh ya, he just needs a good katchoo to the chin, and that there Puddin’ King will go by the way side. Perhaps a bit o’ help to get the slimy folks out o’ the way so that these here tough guys can get in and give ‘im a what for.” Orubis nods emphatically throughout
Beegred: "Well, don't go putting the horse in front of the wagon. Before the fight, you gotta have the talk... This CheapGranny guy wanted to meet directly with the DiggleMocks, to see if your combined efforts could stop the PuddingPop Prince. Maybe talking face to face lets you reach a deal faster, without any hot-heads starting a fight by accident.
"But if you are too tired right now after learning about your last names, then leave the negotiations to me. I've got a brilliant mind and great memory for dip... diplo... the talking thing."

Dorbo stares uncomfortably at Beegred for far too long before flatly stating, "Maybe it would be worth sacrificing a member of the expedition to lead this one back to the surface... far from here."
Discussions are had and the Diggermattocks ask Orubis to relay a message to Chipgrin, agreeing on a meeting, to which the adventurers are not invited. Once Orubis returns, you are asked to keep yourselves occupied for a day or more while the Diggermattocks meet Chipgrin and figure out how to proceed.
With the free time afforded to him by the discussions, Grithik visits the markets within Blingdenstone. After finding an eager buyer for the gem he had knicked from the dwarf before escaping, he purchases a hefty amount of incense, charcoal, and herbs, as well as several bottles of ink. As he wanders through the markets he occasionally pulls the book from his bag, opening it and appearing to read, though no text is visible.
He converses with Rodolfo as they meander past stalls and shops, "I noticed you have a book of your own there. You study the arcane? I'd love to take a look, if you'd let me. Never could resist an interesting read, always so much to learn."
Rodolfo says, "I have been doing it my whole life, yes. Transmutation is my main area of interest. It's still a meager collection though, vast majority is unfinished. I've been tinkering with a few different spells, but not managed a reliable effect just yet. It'll take a bit more time or actually finding some scrolls to help me finish some."
As they go around, Rodolfo will find a buyer for "three green-gold bracelets (25gp each)" that he had in his inventory from god knows where. He will also buy (spell inscription) ink for two spell levels (100 gold, right?)
After spending time in the market, you all return to The Foaming Mug for a meal. When you arrive, there is a young-ish female gnome sitting at a table, waiting. She sees you and springs up to her feet, closing the distance quickly, "There you are. Name is Nomi. I am told you've seen it. Tell me what you know!"
Beegred: "Nomi? You've been spelling "Gnomey" wrong your whole life."
After blinking a few times, and remembering who she is, Beegred will mention the sentient dust cloud, in particular how it animated the Draw statues and corrupted the earth elementals. (He will leave off any mention of the Drow glob wand. The elemental was simply too far away from the menhir to reach it before being corrupted again.)
Beegred's opinions on what he saw are trash and nonsense, but the details of his observations (Observant feat) are accurate and precise.

Nomi almost bounces in excitement, refraining from interrupting Beegred even when she knows his opinions are wrong. When Beegred ends is recounting of what your party has seen, she launches into an explanation of her own, "They were wrong, I was right. I did not take risk for nothing."
Seeing your party has no context for her statement, she elaborates, "Yantha Coaxrock is the leader of the Stoneheart Enclave. We are practitioners of magic that focus on summoning elementals for various purposes. We also make magical items related to elementals. I am Yantha's apprentice, given the responsibility of leading the enclave while she is away to Mantol Derith."
"We are a people with morals, and don't summon elementals to our aid that are not willing. To do this, we barter and trade with them. Yantha and the others are always warning initiates to stick to ridgid exchanges that have served the svirfneblin for centuries. But having our elementals turned on us goes beyond what is traditional. It occurred to me that the beings on the planes we summon our elementals from might have answers. So I asked them, and exchanged information to pay for the answers."
"They have informed me about a being from their plane who is known as Ogremoch, who is able to possess and corrupt them at will. Their theory is a small piece of Ogremoch squeezed into our plane during a summoning ritual and is now trapped here."
Nomi looks at you all with an excitement she expects you all to share at this theory.
"I have been studying elementals that have been possessed, but in general we push them out of Blingdenstone instead of fight them. I am sure if I study enough I can figure out how to protect our Elementals from the effect of Ogremoch's Bane." She smiles, asking "You like the name I'm giving this dust you saw?".
"In any case, I will pay you for pieces of any elementals you destroy, as long as they are fresh kills. The stronger the elemental, the more I will pay."
Orubis hooks his thumbs into his belt. “Oh ya, you betcha. Not real welcome there. But I’ll do what I can to get this here problem turned okey-dokey.”

The Diggermattocks seem skeptical and a bit concerned for the well being of even the adventurers.

Rodolfo will gladly follow Grithik around the place, discuss the arcane and definitely look/ask around for any spell scrolls.
Orubis just follows the party around to be on hand, and keeps picking up rocks he likes and putting them in a pouch.
