And then quietly and quickly to the new people, "Don't be alarmed, do not attack, don't do anything. It's a creature we befriended and saved a while back."
It is difficult to see a gelatinous cube in good light, and almost impossible in dim light or darkness. But it is evident that the levitating stones that you can see are actually Glabagool's last meal. That's about the only way to guess as to Glabagool's actual position.
"Hello little 'not-big-one's-food'. I am indeed still alive, whatever that really means. Although being alive is a miserable experience when suffering from hunger. It has been a time since I've digested proper sustenance. The King is serving us famine as he promises endless feasts. I have to admit, you all look quite appetizing at this moment. Maybe I could just have a taste? I'll spit you out before you perish..."
The rations never hit the cavern floor, as the faintest of ripples gives away Glabagool's outer surface when the rations enter. The rations are drawn into and among the floating stones and unlike the stones, they immediately begin to disintegrate and expand as if turning into a cloud. Eventually the meager rations spread into the large form of the gelatinous cube, fading from sight. It doesn't take long at all before nothing remains of the rations.
"Ahh, that was a tantalizing appetizer. I consume your weight in those appetizers if you can oblige... Meanwhile, best I distract myself. Even though it is not much help, I can tell you I am the only one of my kind that speaks any word other than 'flesh for the faceless god'. It is very disappointing to be drawn here to be among my kind, only to find myself just as alone as I was. As for speaking with the King, my kind doesn't seek audience with the King. The King comes and speaks to my kind. Only the Prince and Princess stay with him wherever he goes."
Glabagool quickly digests Rodolfo's rations, as he answers, "I came because I had to meet the King. Now that I am here, I'm just starving while the King talks about feasts. This place will belong to my kind, but the feast is going to be the groom of the Rotting One, somewhere far away."
Beegred is still carrying around a waterorb (30 lbs, 6 days of food/water), but it is old enough that it is starting to smell funny. (Also really heavy.) The halfling will toss it at Glabba-Dabba-Gool, which will hopefully make it happier.

“I think they be meanin, do ya like to eat ‘em? Me fer one love mushrooms, especially with lamb and a dark ale.. by a roarin fire”.(he loses focus for a moment then snaps back)” If we can get ye some more food, ye think ye’d help us get over to yer king without lettin these ones eat us? We got’s a bone to pick with yer king ye see- and it be seemin like ye do as well. .” 25 persuasion with advantage from help (from the others and all the food so far)
If a Gelatinous Cube could shrug, Glabagool does. "I absorb any organic 'food'."
"I do not know where the King goes after he gives speeches. And to get you past the others of my kind, I would have to ingest you. That is the only way."
“If I created a whole bunch of mushrooms, would your cousins here ignore us for the east meal?” Orubis rubs his palms together.
"Please, do not. If the others of my kind find organic sustenance, they will begin to scream over and over and the whole horde will go every which way. This will draw out the King, who will be the only one to shut them up."
Thurnir replies.. “Ye be sayin they’d all come out and eat, and yer king’d come out too? Well, we’d been wantin to see yer king. How’d ye suggest we get to him? I mean aside from bein inside ye, which don’t seem too safe fer us.”
Rodolfo whispers, "Glabagool?! You're alive!"
And then quietly and quickly to the new people, "Don't be alarmed, do not attack, don't do anything. It's a creature we befriended and saved a while back."

“I’ve got rations fer him if he don’t eat us!” Thurnir gently tosses a day’s worth of rations to the area where the stones are floating.
“Mayhap Ye can help us with dealin with yer oozy friends here- I’d like to have a word with this puddin king.”

Rodolfo throws all but one of his rations into the cube (I have not been managing these at all, so it's probably 3 total at this point).
He says, "So what have you been up to since we last traveled together? Just hanging around here?"
Glabagool quickly digests Rodolfo's rations, as he answers, "I came because I had to meet the King. Now that I am here, I'm just starving while the King talks about feasts. This place will belong to my kind, but the feast is going to be the groom of the Rotting One, somewhere far away."

Glabagool doesn't respond to Skameros's question.

“How do you feel about mushrooms, Mr Glabagool?” Is starting to look excited.
Paladin - warforged - orange
Glabagool, as pensive as a Gelatinous Cube can be, responds, "Am I supposed to feel something about mushrooms?"

Rodolfo also chimes in, "By the way, you mentioned Prince and Princess? Who or what are they?"
"Please, do not. If the others of my kind find organic sustenance, they will begin to scream over and over and the whole horde will go every which way. This will draw out the King, who will be the only one to shut them up."
"They are my kind, and always with the King. They are special, and get special treatment. I do not know why."
Thurnir replies.. “Ye be sayin they’d all come out and eat, and yer king’d come out too? Well, we’d been wantin to see yer king. How’d ye suggest we get to him? I mean aside from bein inside ye, which don’t seem too safe fer us.”
"I do not know where the King goes after he addresses my kind. I can go search." Glabagool begins to leave.
