Then he turns to face the passage into the room, draws his second axe, and takes up a defensive stance with axes at the ready. He nods at Drusk's words saying, "Aye, best not to leave an enemy to slay tomorrow that can be slayed today."
Move: 10 feet further out, then turn around
Action: Ready attack for when an enemy enters my reach. Attack: 11 Damage: 6
"Ouch," Hildigrim comments thoughtfully. He looks up at Jorin the best he can in his awkard position. "Many thanks for my rescue," he says to the human.

Resolution: Vanja hoists her ball of flame higher as she retreats a little towards the blood room behind her, ready for anything. Drusk holds position, saying, "If this thing tries to come after us, it will have to leave its hiding spot and be exposed as it comes out of the room." Jorin rushes towards him, carrying Hildigrim, "Aye! Best not to leave an enemy to slay tomor..." and then howls, drops Hildigrim and clutches his head (edit: save failed, 9 psychic dmg).
Hildigrim bounces as he hits the floor. "Ouch." Jorin shakes it off and draws his second axe, turning to face the room.

Notes: The re-rolled DM rolls didn't change anything substantial, I don't think, but labelling them will help me moving forward. Jorin lost an initiative contest with something, so it got him before he moved out of sight. In the interest of putting a post up sooner rather than later, I've asked Guiltysparc for an Int save roll, but it won't make a substantial difference in the outcome, so I've moved ahead. I'll edit and make a note when I have that in hand.

Hildigrim will grab Jorin's pant leg and pull him toward the blood room. "We can't fight what we can't see," the halfling says. He moves toward the blood room, pulling Jorin if he is hesitant or distracted and needs encouragement.
Moves to swap spaces with Jorin (map in post 334). Still ready-ing a Sacred Flame.
Makes the following suggestions, using comic-book reality, where all of this could be said in 6 seconds. "If this thing is actually invisible, and we keep getting hurt, let's retreat to the surface to heal up.
"Otherwise... If it is a special ooze creature, we need to lure it out of its hiding place. They usually feed on metal or meat. We could get one of Hidigrim's arrows (metal arrow head), skewer some jerky on it (from rations). I cast Light on the arrow head. Shoot it just inside the room. When the Light fluctuates or fades, something is feeding on the metal or meat, and we can attack it then."
