Through the dark, most you can tell is the odd fauna and a few peculiar critters. And some were caught in webs or the plants. Though you see no spiders, you can hear something scuttle, various things scuttling. You can hear them follow you quite obviously, but they seem to follow your pace. "It...seems we have they've noticed us. Just keep calm, we're not here to hurt them."
George raises his hand, "That'd be me then. Need something?" Sullivan and Beryl rise from their chairs and start heading out, "We're just gonna go grab our gear for patrol, don't take too long now." Sullivan says.
'Just sizing up our squad's strengths and composition, sir.' Gallias replied as he took note of his fellow magic user. 'Fortune favours the prepared mind, after all. Though I would not be averse to some practical advice as this would be my first foray into into the field.'
As you walk through the darkness, you start to hear something else. Rather than the sounds of birds and little animals, you hear a cracking sound. And as you get closer, you can hear shouts. "Raargh! C'mon you little shits, give me your best shot!" Up ahead, you see a little camp of sorts, lit up by a few torches on the perimeter. There stands minotaur with red tribal tattoos going about his body. He fights with one hand as his other holds a corpse of a spider. "Seems like my assumption was right...Gruul, looks like. Hmm, how'd you all like to proceed? They've came here and disturbed the nature here..."
"Well..." George fixes his uniform, "Best to keep your spells for the rowdy suspects and try to make a mental note of what they look like, what their suspected for, and any liable allies or enemies of them. We're just going for a patrol so I won't be expecting much unless someone calls for us. Civilians tend to straighten up when they see our blue or the red of the Boros. Otherwise, Sullivan will mostly be between us and them, Beryl proven herself to be a decent shot and fair with a mace. I'll be in the back trying to suppress them and most of all, don't kill unless authorized to. We need their testimonies for trials, but if your life is in danger then don't hold back. It'll dock you on some pay and put on paperwork duty for a while, but you'll be alive."
You're soon joined by the rest of the team, all in their armor and having weapons of choice. The sergeant enters the barracks and heads towards the team, "I trust you all met with our new recruit today. Good, cause we're heading out. We're going to reinforce a checkpoint in precinct 4. This checkpoint has been getting hammered recently by Gruul raids and it'll be our job to make sure they don't get past that point. We'll be there till the main regiment gets there then we'll join up with them to get rid of the Gruul camp near there. Essentially, we'll be defending then attacking the Gruul. Is that understood?"
Thwuut seems slightly surprised. "Strange, I thought a Gruul clansman would be all for preserving such nature. Perhaps we can persuade them to leave peacefully." She suggests, then thinks for a few seconds. "Though we should be prepared for them to lash out at us." She keeps her hands upon the greatclub she brought with her.

'Understood, sir.' Gallias replied with ever so slight enthusiasm. 'I shall conduct myself as befitting a member of the Azorius Senate.' He then took a seat at the vacated table to mentally go over any preparations for the upcoming patrol and wait for the others to return.
Throom nods, "Very well..." Throom heads out into the clearing, holding his hands up, "Hello there, I am Throom, an evangel from the nearby vernadi. I've come to see what have been disturbing this forest and its inhabitants. I wish not to incite a conflict here but may I ask if you are causing their anger?" As Throom asks this, the encroaching spiders near the camp disperse, giving the camp a respite. The minotaur tosses the corpse into the camp and grunts. A few moments later, a man wearing the skins and bones of animals come from out of a tent, walking to the side of the minotaur. "Soft Selesnya, yes, we tread upon your grounds to take something from these spiders. For we have need of their venom and fangs. But that is all we need, so leave us be. Or face the wraith of the Skarrg clan."
After a few moments, Sullivan and Beryl return to the break room, donning their armor. Sullivan in a chainshirt with a cloth of the Azorius over it and Beryl having leather armor, her blue uniform over it as well. Sullivan wields a flail and a shield and Beryl has an assortment of weapons at her disposal. George stands up, taking hold of his staff. Sullivan nods, "Alright, since this is your first patrol, I'll explain it to you. We'll be walking the streets of the tenth district, keeping an eye out for anything suspicious or illegal. We'll also sometimes be first responders to situations so don't let your guard down. Otherwise this will be a routine sweep through the streets and then back here. We'll start our patrol here in the first precinct and then down to the second precinct. Understood?"
The march over to precinct 4 is rather quiet with the exception of the clanking of armor and beat of the marching. Though as you approach precinct 4, you hear an explosion, then another, and another. It doesn't faze the other squadmates as they continue to march through. "Keep your guard up, street gangs, Rakdos, Gruul, any of them could be out on the streets right now." The sergeant says as he leads the squad through the streets.

"If you pardon, sir, but your collection of this venom is causing much worse problems for this ecosystem." Thwuut reasons with the Gruul minotaur. "Because you are pillaging here, you are causing problems for many more elsewhere."
"If they are weak then they die, that is true nature. Where the strongest presides over all, as will the great Raze-Boar. And we have need of these creature's venom so we shall take it, consequences are for the weak." The spiders start to bristle among the borders, their numbers slowly growing. "The Gruul's view of nature is a bit different from ours, rather than living aside it, they'd prefer to rule it. Choosing to prove themselves by fighting the other guilds or other clans. Strength is their main way of winning an argument with them...Perhaps we can..." Throom whispers to you both as he goes silent for a moment, "May I ask that we prove ourselves then? We'd prefer not to shed any blood but we'd dislike to force our hand more. Perhaps a duel of some sorts?"

Boros Legion:
You see a few goblins run away as you spot them stalking you through the streets. Others just look away as you start looking around. "It's a constant warzone here, private, being neighbors with the Gruul, a playground for the Izzet, and just scum make this place so dangerous. I'd be surprised if this district was quiet for once. So keep your guard up, private, be ready for anything."
"There is also the strength within numbers." Thwuut explains, seeing the spiders amassing. "One big brute can easily be felled by an army; many little makes a lot. I advise you be done with your business before the many little takes down the lot, as nature dictates."

'Yes, sir.' Gallias gives the man a salute before heading out with the squad. While on patrol, he hangs a bit back, as not to get in the others' way, and does his best to observe and learn.
