I relax a little as the majority of the pack leaves us alone. Even though there are still 5 left I feel sure that I can sway them to leave us alone. I continue to speak calmly and evenly to them trying to encourage them to go for easier prey.
Will try wild empathy again. I didn't add the plus 2 for aid into my rolls.
Holding Patience's reigns tight I keep her eyes off the Dire Wolves themselves to keep her from panicking. From the way she moving thought she definitely knew they were still there. While everyone else was dusting themselves off I quickly check behind me to try to gauge the distance between our group and the hobs. It seems that presenting a united front for the wolves was the more useful place I could be at the moment. "Are we good?" I calmly ask Rachel while looking sternly at the wolves.
I glance over my shoulder as Jonathan asks me a question. " I'm not sure yet. We will find out soon I'm sure. " I continue to try to convince the wolves to leave us alone and seek easier prey.

Still surging with adrenaline from the nearby threats, I run over in mind what may influence such enormous creatures to find easier prey. Still calming my mount with soothing strokes, I try to provide an imposing backdrop for Rachel's efforts.

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
As Rachel calms another one down one of the Dire wolves steps on the caltrops that Travis laid down in front of the group in the dire wolves path. Tow of them are angered now and the lunge forward to attack the front line. I need to know who is on the main front besides Jason and Jonathan. Rachel is safe from attack as the one in front of her turns away and heads towards the Hobgoblins.
Dismounting off of the nervous Echo, I quickly remove my cloak and blind him to the dangers surrounding us. As a front line fighter, and ready with sword, I engage the foolish beast attacking with the flat of my sword to ‘encourage’ it to follow its pack mates.
Ooc- my caltrops, sorry. :(. New initiative, or reusing the old one?

I sigh as one of the wolves growls and moves forward. " Careful everyone, we risk causing the whole pack to turn on us. " I ride forward on Ghost and try to get between the angered wolves and my companions. I speak soothingly to the angered wolves trying to get them join their companions and leave us alone.
Understanding the precariousness of the situation I dismount as well putting forth the shield, but not swinging the sword. As I approach, I get as low as I can using the shield for cover and get right up to the Dire Wolf trying to grab the caltrops off the ground to prevent it from injuring itself further.
I will need initiative rolls from everyone plus four rounds of actions. If you do not attack the wolves and just use defensive tactics let me know but remember you have Hobgoblins coming in from the North.
Seeing that Rachael has the Dire Wolves taken care of for the most part, I must believe Easy Spirit made it back to the stronghold or at least not far away and away from any prey that may be after her. I then turn my attention to the sound of the approaching Hobgoblins from the North and ready my crossbow and have Precognition Offense and Defense going.

I keep up a strong front in the face of the dire wolves. I will fire only on wolves that commit to attacking us, or any hobgoblins that approach. In the event a large group of foes approach us, I will use a fireball scroll on them. Regardless of how it happens, as soon as we are clear, I will seek to rally people into departing the area.

Roll for Travis initiative here: 10
Travis continues with his defensive, but cautious posture with the Dire-wolves. He learns of a Hobgoblin attack from the north. He gets ready his light crossbow, for the impending attack on the group. Realizing he cant move far, without a horse and also pinned on the other side by Dire-wolves.

Sword at the ready, and horse blinded from hazards, I stand at the forefront, ready to defend against any aggression. If the wolves charge, I'll attack with the flat to discourage them harmlessly. If the hobs approach, I'm ready to charge in.

Not liking this development, I call out, "Form up, lets get out of here while we can. Wounded on the horses, anyone without jog alongside for now. We'll switch out soon enough."
