As Jonathan enters the main temple area a feeling comes over him that he should head to the main altar. As he nears it he feels the commanding presence of a greater being even while he can not see one. He feels the need to kneel at the altar and pray. Meanwhile Grant seeks out the head priest. He is lead to a small hallway that is just off the main chamber. In the hallway he is lead to a door that is opened revealing a small room with a elder elf sitting on a hard stone bench. The elf smiles at Grant and invites him in to have a seat beside him. The rest of you stand in the main chamber while Ariel reports that those following you have stayed hidden in the alleyways outside not approaching. SHe can not see them to see what they are up to unless she gets within weapons range. She has seen a few with bows that have followed her through the sky. What do you wish to do now?
I kneel the alter putting my shield and sword down as I offer up some thanks for the abilities I have been infused with by Bahamat. After a minute of kneeling, I pick them back up and and begin swiftly moving toward the doors, I sweep past Rachel and say, "I'll be back," as I pick up the pace.
I step up as well, "If you just got some instructions, now would be a good time to let us know. They're still out there, and armed. We don't need a confrontation even if victory were certain."
I look at those that are talking about following me, "Stay here where it is safe! Do not follow!" As I run out the building I make it a block before I lurch to the side and run into an alleyway.
Jonathan is gone out of the temple about 50 minutes. When he reenters the temple he is covered in blood from head to toe. It is dripping off his armor, shield, sword as well as him. He appears to be uninjured.
“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
If no one has it ready, I quickly prepare a casting of prestidigitation and start using it to clean Jonathan off. "I hope you and Bahamut know what you are doing. Our enemies will no doubt spin this tale as a foreign madman mass murdering citizens in the streets. It will be difficult to say the least to provide proof that it was a defensive action. Hell, even I am not sure it's a defensive action. Please tell me they tried to harm you and you didn't just cut them down."
"Yes, they shot first." I say as I offer up my items to be cleaned as well. "They were after Rachel and they were on par with mafioso in terms of virtue even threatening to put me in the harbor. Bahamut led me thru the city clearing the vermin and ending at their nest. No guards saw what happened and none of them got away."
My eyes go wide seeing him covered in blood. " Jonathan..." I move over quickly to check on him and hear his response about it not being his blood. " Bahamat told you to do this? That was very dangerous but impressive as well. " I place my hand on his arm and say, " Thank you for protecting me yet again. You are quite the bodyguard. "
While all of this is going on Herschel steps out of his house to head to work and the finds himself in a forest. Turning around he does not see any door, hall, or other exit just a lot of trees. What does he do next?
I come back after some time, enlightened and looking refreshed, before Jonathan returns. Upon learning of his exit, I exclaim "Another solo mission? Didn't we learn how bad it can be on our own, from the LAST time someone took this our route? Did you at least give him the ring in case it got too hairy, or follow him? This isn't the height of wisdom, from anyone, regardless of what he said about going alone." And I send Ariel up to keep any eye out, trying to find out where he went. After he returns, I let the others fuss over him, once I know he is unhurt and tell him "Next time some God-given quest demands you go out alone, give us a few minutes to prepare you. If you utterly HAVE to do something for Bahamut by yourself - which is foolish considering our situation - I at least can provide some magical aides that would ensure a better chance of coming back. Or at least keeping tabs on you and coming to you if you have issues. Did you have to deal with those who were following us?"

I shake my head as I continue cleaning the viscera off of my friend, "What's done is done, all we can do is move forward. He's right though, a little warning would be appreciated. If you absolutely had to go, we could have at least provided a few buffs and whatever other support that was feasible."
"I had thought to get word to the king about the situation while we remained here using Ariel, let him deal with the threat to his guests as he saw fit, but it seems that won't be necessary."
"We should let the king know what happened here regardless. Soon or late, he will find out. Mafioso or not, emissaries from another land killed his citizens in the streets of his capital. If he has to find out about it via an investigation, it will jeopardize everything we've achieved here."
I look around, "Look, I have no clue what they know here or if Bahamut has even spoke to them personally before. Up until now my only contact with Bahamut has been the knight that trained me in my vision quest. These maneuvers are like katta's from the divine and when I tell you that yes, I went out there to do his will take that to literally mean that. I may have held this weapon and shield, but I could not have done what I did without him and the fact that he acted on our behalf says something. I'm still shaking. I know the ramifications and I have no doubts that he does as well. We can talk more about this on the boat but if I'm getting my vibe from him correctly, we are not going to be talking about this." I look the group over to make sure they get my meaning, "Accept the gift from above and let's move on. The coast is clear."
I check on Johnathan when he returns and help Jason with the clean up. I listen to that Johnathan states, but notably word comes from my lips. Within k in my mind that I could have possibly been some help; but he trusts what instructions where given to him, I am just glad he is alright.
Once Grant returns from speaking with the High Priest and we find out what he stated and once everyone is ready, I again will follow the others back out into the street.
"Before we go, I need to visit the alter." Walking to the beautiful dais I kneel once again putting the sword and shield on the alter. I am thankful there is just the soreness from the bruises instead of the dozens of cuts I would have received. "Blessed be your brilliant scales. Your task is complete."

I look with alarm at Jonathan leaving. " You can't go out there by yourself. It's dangerous. " I motion to Caesar and follow him outside.

As I enter I ask, "Does anybody have a towel?"
OOC - Not sure if I'm back yet for this event.

"Yeah, this seemed like a go now sort of moment."
My typical ‘WTF?’ Then look to see where the sun is to determine my axis, then head East to where the major road/hiway should be.
