"Oh my goodness, where are my manners. We did not give you our names," she says apologizing to Arilynia. "I am Ghanima, the Cleric Arilynia mentions. Meilikki is my patron," she says pulling out her holy symbol. To those familiar with the nature god, the symbol seems much more extravagant then the normal ranger or druid would wear with it's shining alabaster, silver and gold inlays. "I travel with her guidance seeking those that need protection from evil, specifically the undead and render aid. This is where she has led me and it seems very apropos that she has. We, Katrina and I, had heard the stories of the villager's missing women and came to aid you in finding them."
Despite his Druidic knowledge, Avan had rarely sought contact with others during his training. Only the minimum required by his nightly sect when deeper, unintuitive mysteries were revealed. He displays no recognition of the symbol on his face.
"I am Avan," He introduces himself and, not realising the symbol was tied to nature, reveals his ignorance, "I'm a druid who speaks to the spirits of he night and early dawn." He immediately tests her, "Would you know what kind of creatures we faced? Vile dead things which arose at our presence, controlled some of our own, and had a painful, soul-splitting touch. Then, when we thought we struck the killing blow against each, they turned to smoke."
Katharina studies the newcomers with her glittering grren eyes. They see a woman with a slim frame but which still has some curves. Katharina stands almost 6 feet tall. She has long, flowing auburn locks and sparkling green eyes. Her skin is pale in the torch light. She wears knee high leather boots and a green tunic that comes down to a few inches above her knees. When she moves she does so with almost supernatural grace.
She smiles at Bastion and Rivoril. Katharina speaks in what would be an eastern european accent to our world. " I am Katharina. It is as my friend Ghanima said. We heard of the need and came to help. We already disposed of a fair amount of the undead on the way in. I am no cleric and serve no god. I have used these from time to time however. " She holds a vicious looking kukri aloft in each hand. " I hate undead creatures and i destroy them wherever i find them it is my.... calling.... one might say. " Katharina smiles again. She only shows a hint of sparkling teeth whenever she smiles. " Please accept our assistance to drive this evil out of this city. "
Bastion studies the pair before nodding, "Those behind me are Dena, who is a cleric in her own right, Kixarn the wizard, and Rivoril, a person with many talents. In regards to the captives, I'm afraid there is not much hope at this time. These two rooms appear reserved for this place's captives, but we found nothing save bloodstains and the strange undead creatures Avan mentioned."
"If you are prepared, I think it would be prudent to spend a moment recovering from that encounter, but then press on. We have healing wands for the physical injuries taken, but those things drained some deeper vitality from us. Is there any chance you know how to deal with such?
We have several Wands of Cure Light wounds, so anyone who's wounded, just roll a few times to fix the damage taken and make sure we keep track of the charges used. Rivoril, don't forget that healing spells cure nonlethal damage at the same time as lethal, so you can get rid of both rather quickly.
P.S. The answer to Bastion's last question is no, but he wouldn't know that. Negative levels take a Restoration spell to reverse on the fly, which none here can cast.

"I cannot say they are familiar to me. I do my best to repel or destroy them by the force of my god's will. I am fairly good at it and Katarina and I went through a couple dozen to get to the point where we found your scouts and then Arilyania, but encountered none that turned to mist, just zombies and skeletons. We sustained no injuries and could push on if you do or rest up if that is your plan. As I have been focusing on driving them back and taking them out with my crossbow I have not used but one spell so far if anyone is injured and needs healing." The entire time Ghanima is speaking, she still has her hood up and glances around to see who seems the most hurt.
Avan lowers the glowing arrow held ahead of his narrow waist, bringing it to his left. The change in light reveals a thin, almost 6' tall man with bloodshot brown eyes surrounded by wrinkles and dark bags. However the rest of his lightly-tanned, narrow, hollow-cheeked face and untamed brown hair are of a young man. He is covered in natural plate armour of wood, twigs, bark, leaves and grasses and holds a quarterstaff in his right hand with a longbow and pack slung over his back. Beside him, mostly covered by the wall is a large, ugly dire jackal, with bony protrusions and a snarling, wicked smile.
"You came straight from the village?" Avan asks, suddenly worried about something other than the unsatisfactory answer and seeking just a confirming nod. "Then they had the capacity for another assault... We also dispatched a large group the night we arrived and two nights later. Used up the village's whole supply of tinder and oil."
"Which begs the question: where is the woman, or her necromancer? Can they also turn to mist? Is that why we saw nobody leave? When will they strike again?"
Katharina looks at Avan and Jackal curiously as they enter the hallway. " The necromancer is the key. We need to take her out quickly. She will be able to send an almost endless stream of corpses at us otherwise. Any idea where to look for her?"
Bastion shrugs, "Presumably somewhere in here, as this ruin seems to be the source of the undead. But I am afraid that no one here has even glimpsed our true foe as of yet, just their pawns. Following the path taken by those last enemies may prove helpful in that regard."
Kixarn watches the new people joining the group with uncertainty, his well-earned nervousness causing him to tuck deeper into his cloak as he listens to the conversations. When he is named by the solid Forged warrior, he raises his hand slightly, not wanting too much attention from the unknowns. He hides his form well in his clothing, not much more than red eyes seen in the shadows of the hood. Tall, yet slouched, he is a slim figure that doesn't fidget. His red-eyed raven, perched on his shoulder, is far more dynamic, head turning sideways, back and forth as he studies them with intelligence.

Katharina ignores the other newcomers for the moment to watch Avan check the crack in the wall. She glides over next to him. " I can help a little with this." She reaches up a little higher than Avan with her hand held out. She murmurs a few words and energy leaves her hand seeking the undead.
She casts detect undead and will concentrate on it for the full 2 minutes to learn all she may.
Katharina grimaces a little and looks to the others. " I sensed several undead auras through there. Down there I should say. I also sensed one aura that was a lot stronger than the others directly below us. Something is pretty potent down there. Much worse than these others you were fighting. We need to find a way to get down there. "

Rivoril greets both Katharina, and Ghanima into the group. "It is indeed fortuitous that you both are here. "I'm Rivoril a Half Elf and pleased to make your acquaintance," He says. He frowns with concern with the mention something more potent is beneath.
"I might have a quick look down the end of this corridor then report back," Rivoril says quietly.

"We could plug this hole before we leave," Avan wisely intones. "I would suggest tree sap or beeswax, but the local area is particularly lacking in plant life. Perhaps someone's rope is fraying and we can cut off the end? Add a bit of candle wax if anyone is carrying some?"

Arilynia states that the new comers gave no names but stated one is a healer and both feel the Undead are creatures that should be gone.
OoC: I hope I got that somewhat close to the actual for Kathrina and Ghanima.
Rivoril, hears Bastion introduce himself to a couple of strangers around the corner. He quietly moves around to take a look himself.

The crack in the south wall is not very big and your arrow is not able to go in far (a inch at most) you can see the crack moves downward inside.
