So as Penny is gathering the evidence and putting it in her bag, she finds the map and assuming someone tells her that it goes to the coachmens house, she will study it for a moment. "Ok, yeah I know how to get there. I am pretty familiar with the area." The says as she pulls her blond hair back into a short pony tail and puts on her watchmans helmet and heads to the door. As you make your way across town, you get a few stares but no one says anything to you. You are not sure if it is because you are accompanied by a member of the watch or if it is because they don't care that much. It is hard to tell. You do notice though that as you get to the nicer side of town, some of the looks you get are a little less confused and a little more... scared... as the people on the streets move across the road to avoid you all and some of them pull their children behind them as you go past. Before long you arrive at the large manor. It is a white brick house with a small cobblestone path that goes from the road towards the front of the house and splits off to head back behind the house towards what appears to be a small stables or shed.
"Alright, So I recognize this house. This house belongs to madam Hayes. She is pretty old and keeps to herself. Her family has been a part of this town for a long time. They made a lot of money mining silver before the mine dried up" Penny says looking up towards the house from the street as she puts the map away. "I uh.. well I guess we should go up there then...and ask her what her coachman has been up to..."she says nervously.
Veng thinks Penny looks nervous, so he takes her shape and tries his best to look like a stern badass *****. "Look at yourself. You got this(shifting to his own form) the Captain is a badass and cares about our parents. You wouldn't have been assigned if you couldn't handle it, it's not just because you saw me first. Let's go talk to the lady"
As the people they pass become more confused and scared at his family's passing, the bugbear takes a special interest on the way. Namely of any that were shocked for the wrong reason.
Beyond that, he remained content to move on in secret until they got close to the building. To avoid some direct line of sight issues, Vruuk is mindful to not perch on a roof directly across from Madam Hayes house this time, but rather at some adjacent rooftop. The longbow stays undrawn, as he favored having his utensils ready for draw. Aside from sight, he is too far to hear anything without shouting; only seeing the front and streetside.

Vruuk has a hard time making out much of the faces as he moves across the rooftops due to the bright sunlight causing him to have to squint to see.
Penny smiles a bit as the changeling shifts in front of her. "The fact that the captain cares so much about this case is what worries me, but you are right... I need to get it together" she says before making her way to the door. As you all approach the door, Penny grabs the silver door knocker and slams the cresent moon shaped piece of metal hard three times. After what seems like a forever, the door slowly creaks open enough for the figure of a tall slender pale skinned man to be visible "hello... what can I do for.... you?" the older man says with a bit of disgust as he looks from the woman to the rest of the party.
As Cinders leaves with the group, he spots Vignar and hurries over to him. Getting there, Cinders holds one clawed hand to his snout, "Pyewwww! Vignar you stink!" He then looks around, "Not much I can do right now, alright come on Vignar." he says gesturing in the direction they are going.
AH: 10 (If success that is 5 successes for the come/follow command!)
When they get outside the manor, Cinders turns to Pok'im, "Big Bro, if you were planning on staying outside, do you mind looking after Vignar, whilst I help brother Veng?" he eyes the dog out of the corner of his eye, "Don't want him rolling around in anything else."
"Apologies for any inconvenience sir, 'we'(self derisive tone) are here under ma'am(giving a slight nod and bow to Penny) per order of the Captain of the Watch. Officer?"

Pok'im goes over to Vignar and says to the dog "Cinders right, you stink but not worry, Pok'im fix." Before the dog has a chance to react Pok'im grabs the dog (Grapple test - 13) and carries him across to the nearest horse trough and drops him in and then starts rubbing the muck out of Vignar's coat. The big grin on Pok'im's face as he washes the dog says that he is enjoying it - whether the dog is, is another matter - as he talks to the dog in a low rumble saying things like "you like dat Vgnar, you smell much better when Pok'im finish, etc." The fact that Pok'im is almost as wet as the dog from its impromptu bath doesn't seem to worry Pok'im.
Gin is tagging along behind the others silently, scribbling something down in her new notebook—or rather, defaced tome. She glances up at the man with a cherubic smile that would have looked charming on the face of a creature that wasn't a goblin. "Pardon our intrusion, but may I interest you in talk of the Sylvan Ghost? They are a might and glorious god and also very very funny." Hey, just because you're on a mission doesn't mean you can't do a little light preaching about the god literally no one else has ever heard of.

(congrats Cinders, you can now reliably ask Vignar to follow you without rolling :D)
So Vignar seems to be happy getting his bath, splashing around in the water and panting happily as his tail flings water all around.
"I have no interest in whatever lesser being you choose to worship" the man says in a voice dripping of disgust as the thin clean shaven older man turns his gaze to from Gin to office Penny. "Well... what do you want" The man says impatiently to the woman. Penny, looking slightly flustered even under her helmet would speak up "We are investigating a kidnapping... A witness said that they saw you driving a carriage carrying someone that we believe may be responsible for the disappearance... We would like to ask you a few questions"Penny would say a little more sternly as she holds up the sketch next to the man before putting it back in the bag. The man, noticeably annoyed would slowly open the door with a heavy roll of his eyes before glaring at the group as you enter "Make sure you wipe your feet.. or paws.. or whatever you call them" He mutters as he closes the door behind the group and escorts them into a large living area with a huge fireplace, three expensive silver and crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and a number of nice chairs and couches scattered around the room facing various paintings and portraits that you would assume are of Madam Hayes and her family, the town, and other works of art.
Veng just thinks it is a very fancy, although a little gaudy. You can tell the the paintings are many years old, the town of sleepy timbers is much smaller in the painting and the coloring has faded quite a bit of a pale white haired woman with a pale white haired daughter and a light brown haired man, all wearing fancy clothing. There is also a painting of a dog, it is pretty cool.
Cinders grins as he watches Pok'im give Vignar a bath. As the man refers to his limbs and extremities, Cinders pretends to examine his own right claw before looking up with a toothy grin, feeling more confident now that progress was about to be made, "You where close there, but it's called a claw not a paw."
As Vruuk settled in for a lengthy watch, he starts patting himself down for second breakfast. "Huh... What's this?" He mumbles as he takes out the ledger, and starts thumbing through it. Almost immediately upon realizing it wasn't his, he stuffs the book back into a pocket, then buries his hands into his hair. "Ohh… I think I slept walked again and stole something!" He spends the remainder of his watch chewing his nails, and only half-keeping watch.

The man pretends like he doesn't hear the kobold as he motions for them to sit down on what appears to be the most uncomfortable and least fancy of the pieces of furniture. "Ask your questions, and be quiet about it, Madam Hayes is asleep upstairs" He says motioning towards a large sprawling staircase leading to a set of heavy ornate wooden doors. Penny will move towards he couch but not sit on it. "Who did you take to the tavern and why?"she would ask, pulling out her notepad. The man would snort, "This really is stupid... " He will say rolling his eyes once more as he pulls a pocket watch out of his fine clothes and checks the time before sighing and replying back to the obviously unamused officer. "Lady Hayes asked that I help out with the church since she is not well. When I asked Cassandra how I could be of service, she instructed me to take some members of the church to the tavern and bring them back when I was done..." He says plainly.

Oh man. Nobody insults the Sylvan Ghost. He was her friend before she'd even met the Stonepheonixes. She stayed smiling cheerily, but she was already planning to strip this place of its valuables as recompense. As the man speaks to Penny, she would glance around the room, eyeing the place over for valuables. Gin usually didn't take things she didn't need, but this man was clearly an *******, and she wasn't above petty vengeance.

So as Gin looks around the room, she spots many many items worth lots of money. She can see silver candle sticks on some of the end tables, expensive looking books on the book shelves lining some of the walls and ornate weapons that you are not sure are purely detective or if they would actually be functional but you can tell that the gems socketed into the hilt are definitely real. You notice silver crescent moon shapes engraved in many of the expensive pieces of around the room but nothing really looks suspicious.
"I didn't ask their names... I Cassandra told me to pick some people up and take them wherever and bring them back. She gives me times and places to be and show up and do my job" The man says glaring towards the changeling. "My job is to take care of this house and Lady Hayes... The only reason I play the role of cart driver for Cassandra is because my Lady asked me to do it. I do what is asked and nothing more. It is not in my job description to do more." The pale skinned butler will say with a look of annoyance. Penny will pause from writing everything down to lock eyes with the man. "And where is Lady Hayes now, can we talk to her?"she will ask as she prepares to take some more notes. "She is upstairs in her room resting, and NO you may not see her. She has not been well recently and she has instructed me to make sure she is not disturbed" The man says as he moves to stand in front of the stairs leading to the second floor.
