Timing the words with Chad's already rising foot for the final step, he uses the momentary confusion to slip the handaxe forward so that it gets caught mid-motion in the crook between handle and base of axe blade. Then during the brief window oversized ox was off-balanced, they yank just hard enough his own top heavy weight would send him crashing down.

Rustler keeps singing in their mother's voice. And As if to add both momentum and insult to injury, Rustler helps a hopefully already sliding Chad on his way down the stairs by jumping on board his back, then off again forcefully, propelling the man further into the tumble while sending the Kenku forward onto the final step.

Rustler sings during the final moments, sliding the handaxe back into place before Kyle can hopefully turn in time to see it. Though even if he does, Rustler just looks back and shrug while singing the last note in her voice before switching to her father's while pointing back in the direction of the Mine. Even if they couldn't recall the exact route of their kidnapping, if nothing else Rustler knew "inconveniencing" their captors would buy Ma and Pa time.

As Chad goes to take his last step off of the stairs, his foot is pulled out from under him. The morningstar in his hand falls to the ground with a loud clank before tumbling down the stairs, banging and clanking on every step along the way down. Chad slams down hard into the stairs as his face bounces off the stone floor, splitting the skin on his chin as blood begins to pour from his mouth and nose. He doesn't quite get the chance to stand up however before the talon-like feet of the kenku land on his back and pushes him backwards down the stairs. The thug would reach out and quickly try to steady himself before falling down the stairs....

The thug rolls down the stairs a short way and disappears around the first bend of the steps, but you can hear that he stops long before the sound of the morning star...
Kyle would spin around at the sound of the heavy weapon clattering down the stairs and point his own morning star towards Rustler. "YOU, What did you do!? What happened to Chad?" He would exclaim as he pushes past the few remaining children that have not piled into the room yet... stomping towards the small kenku.
(OOC: I will let everyone else describe what they are doing. This would count as a surprise round if you wanted to attack, but then we would go into initiative if you all do attack)

As soon as Kyle leaves the doorway, the kenku mirage rolls off the table onto its feet and hurries after him to try to stab him in the back with both his rapier and dagger.
The kenku, seemingly producing a rapier out of thin air... quickly run up behind the distracted man and ram the rapier through his back. The tip of the rapier will erupt through his chest with a spirt of blood as he pierces his heart. Kyle himself doesn't make a sound but a few of the children around let out startled screams as the body collapses to the floor lifeless....
Then, a moment of silence passes before the dissoriented Chad begins climbing back up the steps, he has a dagger drawn and his rubbing his bloody jaw. "I'll kill you ya piece of filth!" He would shout as he staggers up the stairs.
(OOC: I will let George and Cinders make an action before we go to initiative)
George lowers his head and charges at Chad (Attack: 6 Damage: 4) but misses and either sails down the stairs hooves scrabbling for grip or smashes into a wall.
The Bloody faced Chad would catch sight of the kobold just as the orb of acid slams into his chest and splashes up on to his face. A deadly sizzling sound would be heard as his roboes and lower portions of his face dissolve in front of you. He quickly falls to the ground at the top of the stairs and begins slowly sliding back down.
(No need for initiative yet unless Cassandra comes up the stairs or you all head back down there..)
As the two guards fall, the small children look both scared and excited. As if all at once, they begin talking over eachother, asking if they will be going home, how to get home.. where are they... where are mom and dad.. and so on....
You know you have two dead sibling down stairs somewhere as well as a badly hurt sibling being guarded by a dog in a heavy chest down the hall. All of the now free'd captives are in shackles and can only move at half speed until they get them off...
OOC: Technically, we don't know Vruuk and Pok'im are dead. We say them being thrown down into the pit, but we don't know they're dead.
Carmir (in the guise of a taller Chirpee) watches as the second guard is taken down by Cinders. "Good job, Sparks," he hisses, despite the image of his beak being bound. "Now, we've got to get down there and get Ghost and Cubby." He looks at the kids. "Hide in there," he says, his wing pointing at the cell. "We'll be right back to get us out of here."

If in or after the process any try to dart down the stairway, Rustler bodily blocks it off and shakes his head, then makes a slashing motion across the throat. "Dead Men Tell No Tells."He says in a baritone voice. "They be sleep'n with the fishes now, me boy. lil' more than Chum."
Rustler than gestures over to the kids. "Don't worry. Momma's got'cha." Rustler says in Ruby's voice without turning away from Carmir. "Welcome home, sweeties."He pauses at that point, cocking his head this way and that before gesturing to some random spot in the ceiling. Then points over to one of the bodies before mimicking the sound of many feet stomping on stone floor. "O' get away from there, Rustler. You know its not safe here." He finishes in Mr. Stonephoenix' voice.

I mean technically you guys didn't make any medical checks to confirm they were dead... but you saw what they looked like before they were thrown down into the pit.. ***On the verge of death, bloodsoaked and hurt very badly.**** and saw their pretty mangled looking bodies inside the hole after breaking through essentially the stone ceiling of the crypt and landing inside. Carmir and Cinders wouldn't know what had happened to them after being tossed into the pit. )

Without another word he walks over to grab a few of the younger kids hands as if intending to lead them, but looks to Cinder as if awaiting instructions.
Carmir also look at Cinders. "Sparks, if we can't save them ... we need to get these to safety." Carmir notices the chains for the first time and bends down to try to free the little ones with his thieves' tools.
(You can make as many as you want.... I mean the longer you spend the more time there is for someone to find you but so far no one is around... The manicles require a DC 15 to pick or break or slip out of... acrobatics, thieves tools, or athletics accordingly..)

Cinders turns to Carmir, "I agree big bro. We need to get our siblings out of here." He looks around the room, and spotting George, he goes over and says, "hey George, we are going to try and break these shackles, can you watch the door?"
He then goes back to Carmir and helps however possible to pick the manacle locks (help action).
George strains against the chains, pulling hard and working his horns into links. After a few seconds of struggling, the chains would burst with a quick snap.
(@Wreck & DDP: DDP didn't add either his prof. or his dex mod, so that 1st one is a 15. The rest even with the missing +2 doesn't cut it however.)
Unless the set George snap is enough to free up Rustler, the Kenku belatedly sees to slipping out of his own in the meantime at least once. Afterwards, he keeps an eye on the stairways for the siblings with an increasing amount of concern showing in tapping his feet. "I'm not liking the smell of this boss. Too quiet. Way too quiet. Maybe we go some other way boss?"He asks in a distinctly goblin voice, looking to the others nervously.

Upon hitting the guard, the ball expands into a glob of acid that starts to eat away at his clothes.
