(Aryn don't forget hunter's mark damage. 4 )
The ground beneath the two ogres and orcs bursts up into the air sending both orcs flying and knocking the ogres over. To the west Aryn's first arrow sinks into the chest of the ogre who roars out in pain before being silenced as her second arrow pierces through his eye. The northern collection of ogres and orcs turns and runs north, fearing for their lives while to the south Jinara and Torq dispatch the remaining orc battalion with a combination of lightning and fire. To the east Gaelin's fireball explodes with such intensity that the orcs caught in the middle of the blast are reduced to ash while those on the outside of the blast radius immolate as their hide and clothes catch fire before falling to the ground. Valeera lashes out with her claws lacerating nearby orcs before she chomps down on an orc and rips his body in half as she viciously shakes her head. The surrounding orcs rush towards the dragon and rider lashing out with their axes while those in the rear throw javelins.

Gaelin will launch 3 eldritch blasts out at various orcs and will inspire Valeera singing, "I think I love you, there's nothing I'm afraid of, so let's just kills these orcs now, and head back to the tower."

Torq will fly up and northeast coming back together with Night Dream and will say telepathically to the group, "Incoming" then once in range (120ft) will expend a charge to throw his hammer into the clustered orc group.
(Aiming for it to hit 20ish ft west of Valeera and Gaelin are just outside the blast radius)
As Aryn's arrows impact the barrels arcs of electricity ignite the oil and cause a huge explosion that kills all within 20 ft of them. To the east Torq's hammer explodes killing a large group of orcs while Gaelin, Jinara and Mucor each unleash a volley of spells at the survivors before Valeera finishes off the last stragglers. Aryn tactically takes down the remaining two orcs and lone ogre with her bow as they fail to reach the safety of the forest. The campfire burns beneath you and your vision and nostrils begin to fill with smoke from the multiple fires below. You make your way back to the tower where the mages await and greet you in celebration of your success.
You take some time to receive healing from the priest and acolytes and check over the griffons and Valeera, who seem relatively fine but already tired from the days exploits. The griffons and Valeera settle themselves by some bales of hay while you tend to yourselves. After a few minutes one of the mages approaches and directs you to follow him. You go down a series of stairs before you are taken to a teleportation circle. He motions for you to enter saying, "This will take you to the mage quarter within the town hall." as a fellow mage walks in and disappears in a flash of blue energy.
You tentatively follow along and appear in a large marble room. You are lead out into a hallway and enter another large room with two long vertical tables on the left and right side of the room while a single horizontal table sits at the front of the room. Seated at the horizontal table is a well dressed elven female flanked by a leather armored human male and a burly red dragonborn male in half plate. They carefully watch as you approach getting a good look over each of you before the female elf says in a smooth and welcoming voice, "Welcome to Esterlin Lightbringers. I am Daestra, Prefect of Esterlin. This is Colonel Karim Whitfield (human) and General Beladar Keldrosh. (dragonborn) Please be seated. I'm sure your travel here was quite taxing. We have been under assault this morning but it seems to have subsided for the moment. Your aid in this conflict is most appreciated." You seat yourselves at the table as the mage clears his throat and says, "M'lady. The drekthar ground forces were eliminated this morning by the Lightbringers. They insisted on attacking the enemy forces before coming to meet you all." he bows and steps back 10 feet from the table. An unintentional jaw drop occurs from Daestra and colonel Whitefield before they quickly compose themselves, while General Keldrosh allows a small chuckle and smile to escape his normal emotionless stone-like expression.
(Great teamwork and ideas on this one guys! Those bundles make short work of the siege equipment. You continue to surprise and outsmart me, but I still have a few tricks up my sleeve. :) )
(OOC: Sorry i didn't post earlier, I was basically down to cantrips and low level stuff anyway so I wasn't going to be able to do much anyhow :P)
Mucor would let out an exhausted sigh and rub the back of his thick hairy neck with his large calloused hand. "It is nice to meet you..." he would manage before collapsing hard into the chair, clutching his staff with his other hand but allowing it to sag as he looked towards their important hosts.
(No worries. I figured not to mention there wasn't much left of em anyway.)
"H...How did you manage to do this by yourselves?" Daestra lets out. with a still confused look on her face.
"There were at least 12,000 drekthar out there... and you all managed to kill them all within an hour. Mighty impressive." the dragonborn adds. "I'm glad you're on our side."
Torq approaches the table and stands at attention before saluting. After being asked to sit he will open his wings so they slide behind the chair. He'll listen to the exchange and wait a moment before adding, "Sir, superior skill, strategy and the element of surprise allowed us to overcome the vast enemy numbers. We neutralized their siege equipment with a combination of oil and alchemist fire crates that we dropped from the sky. This group is capable of nearly anything if given time and proper equipment to plan. Sir."
"We kicked their ass." Aryn says with a smile. "You wouldn't happen to have any food would you? I don't know about the others but the fight has given me a serious appetite." Aryn looks around the room for a moment before continuing. "How's the coastal defense going?"
The minotaur's eyes would light up at the mention of food. "Yeah.. our griffins and friend Valeera could use some food as well..." he would say sitting up a little straighter. "But we do have a pretty good track record for sinking orc ships as well... if ya need us to do EVERYTHING.." he would finish with a snort and a bit of a grin.
"Umm... Yes, of course. I'll have food brought out immediately." stammers Daestra, still in awe. She motions one of the nearby servants and they rush off through a back door.
The mage clears his throat again and interjects, "Your griffons and dragon will be well taken care of at the tower." then steps back away from the table.
General Keldrosh eyes the mage then turns back to the group with a low chuckle. "Thank you... The naval ships have held through every assualt. In my opinion they could hold out another 6 months, but with the supply of fish running out the city was doomed within a couple weeks. We just announced half rations yesterday. Luckily, with the ground forces cleared we can focus all our strength on the coast and resume farming and hunting. Esterlin should be able to turn the tide and set a trap for the drekthar fleet. With no siege to the north we can afford a few risks. However, if you're not in a hurry to leave, your assistance in the next naval assualt may save many lives and break the drekthar's morale. They should attack sometime within the next three days but if you have other matter to attend to we understand. Folks such as yourselves typically come and go like the wind."
"I don't see a problem with staying but if we do leave you can reach us using this." Aryn says as she pulls out one of the three gold rings they found on the orcs at Traes. "This will allow you to contact us regardless of where we are on Eraas. Gaelin will be able to teleport us here quickly to aid in the battle." she'll hand the ring over to the dragonborn general then add. "I'll want this back after we destroy the drekthar fleet." and will sit patiently waiting for food.
The dragonborn looks over the ring and takes it carefully with a nod. "Understood. They don't have a pattern for time of day. The only time they nearly punched through was a night attack a month ago, but they haven't tried that since." As the general Keldrosh speaks multiple servants enter the room with a wide spread of meats, fruits and drinks. They lay it out neatly along the table as the dragonborn continues. "We've seen as many as a hundred ships on full assault, but generally its between 50-60. They've come in various formations, mostly variations of wedge formations. We'll leave you to eat. You've done enough for the day and I still have a city on fire. Thank you again for your aid. If we weren't still under the threat of siege, we'd hold a parade through the city. Perhaps once we've taken care of the drekthar armada. Should you need anything request for colonel Whitfield." The three officials stand and bow before exiting the room leaving you to your meal. The food is a welcome reprieve after the many skirmishes of the morning.
(The day and city is yours to do whatever you want. Jinara- you would know that today the Hellish Rebuke medallion would be ready.)
(OOC: How long until the the daybrake grove is complete? )
Mucor would eat until it pained him to move, scarfing down food as cumbs and drink fill his fur. After that the large minotaur would simply lean back and fall asleep in his chair with his stall laying against his chest, clutched tighly in his arms... leaving Button to munch on bits of food from the table and orc bits from his pack.
(OOC: So can Mucor just like... request magic items... i mean... all willy nilly... and see if they will bring them to him?)
(Daybreak is our keep and it is pretty awesome... has a few awakened animals and trees to help defend it... has some cool buildings and NPCs hanging out there.)
(That is correct. Castle Daybreak is the personal keep of the Lightbringers. I let em get away with alot, you can ask but i can't confirm or deny that they'll respond with an answer you like. )
The mage standing off to the side pipes up as Mucor doses off and says, "If you'd like a place to rest we have rooms arranged for you."
(Now if there's a particular magic item you'd like to own in your own browsing of the website, let me know and I can arrange a method to obtain such things. Some items might be easily bought while some might be near impossible to track down.)
ooc I kind of feel like Mucor only has one attuned item he could bare to part with...amd that would be his ring of protection. his staff and necklace are too awesome. That being said... as far as unattuned items.. Mucor could always use some better armor or shield other items that dont require atunement. I will have to look and see what Mucor "NEEDS" lol
