"Ahh" Gaelin screams as he casually looks over his shoulder not expecting to see a rather close depiction of his father standing next to a smiling Aryn. "I guess so. Did she put you up to this?" Gaelin asks not upset but somewhat shocked. He looks over his sister closely to see if there's a deeper meaning.
Perception/Insight: 18
He assumes it is a simple jest and resumes his studies saying with his back turned to them. "You and daddy Mucor can go have fun somewhere else. I'm a bit busy at the moment."
As Mucor and Aryn turn to leave Gaelin hears the voice of Varian in his head. "I have finished gathering my research and dispatched a mage who will arrive within the hour. Make whatever preparations you deem necessary."
(We'll say its the morning of the 15th day so Jinara you can have one more attempt with advantage and inspiration since Iris and Gaelin are there.)
"Wait." Gaelin exclaimed to the group. "Varian just sent me a message. A mage will be here shortly. Get your stuff and let's meet up at the grove. He didn't say anything about the griffons but we may want to get them ready just in case."
“What? Alright I’ll try to find Torq and alert him. Get Valeera. Let’s finish this.” Aryn replies and goea to rush off towards the griffins stables before turning back to Mucor and kisses him on the check. “Thanks Mucor.” She whispers in his ear then sprints down the tower steps.
Mucor would stand paralyzed for a moment before managing to whisper "You're welcome" After Aryn was already halfway down the tower steps. After touching his cheek and giving his head a quick shake.. he would also make his way down the steps and to the grove. The wood elf would not run however.. he would make his way towards the grove while feeling around to make sure all of his weapons are still where they should be. He would stretch and move his head and neck.. getting a feel for this type of body and regularly playing with the silver ring on his finger.
"Oh hey Aryn. What's the rush?" Torq would say when Aryn finally found him. When she tells him we're going to see Varian he perks up 1000% percent, ready for battle and can hardly restrain his excitement while he tries to play it cool in front of Alexandria and Juliana. "Really?!? Uh..mmhm. I will prepare and meet the group in the grove momentarily." he replies clearing his throat after his squawky first word.
Torq will grab the additional bundles from Varian and place them in his bag before putting on his belt and aid the girls get their armor on. He will escort Alexandria and Juliana to the griffons and then fly to the grove to meet with the others ready for whatever awaits them.
Gaelin will bow and exit the tower heading towards Valeera's den and speak with her. "Hello darling. Varian contacted me and we are about to leave. I'd love for you to come with us. We could definitely use your help. There might even be a massage in it for you if you come." he says with a grin.
Either way, Gaelin will gather his things and his bundles from Varian in his bag then make his way to the grove. (Good call Torq!)
Jinara- you are briefly interrupted by Aryn and Mucor's intrusion but refocus as Gaelin's pronouncement recalls your true mission to memory. Your eyes flare and you cast Arcane Anchor successfully, fully mastering it. (Yes!)
Valeera looks compassionately down on Gaelin in her huge dragon form and shifts into her human form saying, "I will always be here for you. I am ready when you are."
Alexandria and Juliana look at one another and nod as they rapidly begin getting dressed and grab their new weapons hefting them over their shoulders.
You all finish gathering your things and make your way to the grove. You wait patiently for 5, 10, 15 minutes but no mage arrives.

Jinara surprised by the delay, says "this is not right. They are never late." he casts Clairvoyance thinking of the perch where the griffons roost to get a grand view atop the mountains of everything around them. (What do I see? Anything of concern?)

The sky begins to darken as Jinara casts his spell. In the distance around the castle you see bright flashes of light that you think are lightning strikes but there isn't a bolt descending from the sky. Jinara speaks as he peers through his spell's vision. "There are large groups of ogres, skeletons, zombies and giants appearing from various flashes of light as if they're being teleported here." A split second later you hear a horn blow from the castle gate and all the inhabitants burst into action. The castle becomes a mix of chaos and order as your army groups begin to move into formation around the outer wall and within the courtyard. You hear a chorus of horns in the distance and the sound of rumbling thunder that marks the beginning of a massive charge.
Everyone roll initiative! Full map incoming later this afternoon.
Each of you will be in charge of a few army groups. You will be able to choose what your army group's action will be and will make a roll for each group that will go towards the outcome for the round. Each round you will roll the dice associated with your army groups and dictate their positioning on the map. They can attack, defend or move on their turn. Regardless of their action you will roll their associated die. If you have any questions please ask. After the first round it will begin to make more sense.

Torq will fly up into the air immediately upon hearing the horn and look around. Perception: 9 (It ain't much) He'll call out everything he sees to the group and draw his weapons saying, "I'll take the southeast wall with the cavalry and an infantry group. Alexandria and Juliana help me load Bronze Claw and Night Dream with bundles." Torq with the help of the weretwins will strap on the bundles he had from his bag to each of the griffons and if they have any movement left head southeast. Alexandria and Juliana on Bronze Claw and himself with Night Dream.(Preferably 100 or so feet in the air just in front of the black infantry block.)
Mucor would quickly gather Button and Tree beard. "Friend, please call upon the other trees to help defend the grove!" He would shout to the treant before moving to the front of the infantry under his command. Once there, he would look to his troops and raise his staff as horns sprout from his head and his body twists and returns to its Minotaur appearance. "Do not worry friends! We will show our enemies what happens to those that threaten our home!"
OOC: Hoping to use tree bears Treant ability to make some additional treant friends! Also, how long do we have until the troops attack? Would we have had a minute or two to cast preemptive spells?
Aryn will follow Torq's lead and strap two bundles onto Calypso. Once finished she'll fly up into the air just above the front gate holding her bow aloft in her hand and call out to all the archers. "Archers! Make ready your arrows. Hold until I give the command."
(@Xtra- What's the range on the arrows? Do they have Longbows or shortbows? I can't remember what the shaded crisscross area is. I think it was pitch and oil with bonfire range markers but can't remember if there were also spells.)

Gaelin quickly leaps onto Valeera and says, "Herbert, get the priests to the courtyard and tell Theodore, Maximus and the bears to remain guarding the vault and teleportation circle." He'll turn to the group and cast Telepathic Bond saying telepathically, "Valeera and I will take the western flank." Valeera will take to the skies and roar while they make their way to the western side and look for any movement in the forest.

Torq- you fly up and turn to look around as a gust of wind carries dirt into your eyes and all you can make out is a large army rushing towards you from the south. It takes you all 3 rounds to outfit the griffons including Calyso but with the help of Aryn and the weretwins you are able to complete your work and begin making your way towards the southeastern line using the griffons movement. (Can't quite make it to the infantry.)
Mucor- you only get 3 rounds (18 seconds) so you could only cast spells that take an action to cast. Treebeard nods as you scoop Button onto your back and charge towards the front gate. You fall in with the other soldiers who rush out of the gate and across the draw bridge followed by Treebeard and 2 other animated trees. The awakened trees spring to life as the horn sounds and ready themselves behind the southeast and western infantry groups.
Aryn- You and Torq mange to attach the six bundles to three griffons and you fly up over the inner front gate shouting your commands. The archers collectively shout "AhOoo" drawing back their arrows on their longbows waiting for your order to release. ( The shaded area has a trench of oil (lines) that connect to piles of wood (dark dots) setup as bonfire range markers.
Gaelin- You look closely to the west eyeing the treeline looking for any unnatural movement. You don't see anything at first but after a few seconds you see the tops of the trees to the west rocking and a small flock of birds rises up into the air clearly startled by something moving through the forest. (Red area highlighted on map)

Seeing the looming storm and the hoard arriving in a manner similar to teleportion, Jinara immediately says "oh shit. We gotta company." He immediately bolts towards the acolytes as they make their formation just inside the gates. "Keep as many alive as you can. If the walls are breached, you the skills Iris taught you. You are our life force!" He says as his eyes turn to a bright gold light and he floats into the air. Jinara will go to the southwest corner hovering about 280 ft away from the front line and about 100 ft in the air watching Valeera fly east and the army move north.
