Gaelin will cast Sending again on Rowan and say, "We're in the Whispering Grove north of the Emerald Peaks. Does any of that sound familiar?"
"I agree. I know some groups of elves can be stuck up. Hopefully these are just too scared to take chances rather than being jerks. Let's head back to the river. If Rowan is familiar with this place, staying along the river may give us the best chance of finding one another." Gaelin adds telepathically.
"Oh yes, I saw it" Mucor would reply with a smirk. "I kind of wish Valeera would be willing to give them a quick fly over.. really get them shaking" He would add as he glances towards the elves once. more.
"I am familiar with it. How far away do the mountains seem from your location and how close are you to the river?" Rowan replies in your mind.
Assuming Gaelin informs the group, I need a survival check from someone to gauge the accurate distance to the mountains.
You reach the river after about seven minutes but it take you another 3-4 minutes before you can safely land on a wide bank near a clearing of dirt and rocks. A DC15 survival check would reveal this as a previous riverbed that is dry now that the river has meandered to another path after a flood. The flat and sandy ground is littered with thousands of small round pebbles and a scattering of larger rocks that have been carried here over hundreds or thousands of years of flow and flooding. The nearby trees remain away from this flood plain while many shrubs and weeds extend out in patches from the tree line.

Torq remained quiet throughout the exchange. He did his best to keep his temper down. He found the unhelpful elves annoying but not a threat. The trees, vines, plants, animals... this place was the real threat. He watched cautiously as Aryn got down from Valeera and playfully began looking at rocks. He cocked his falcon-like head to one side slightly confused at how calm she was then shrugged and continued to watch the area around him. "I'll be just above us." He'd say before leaping into the air and would fly around in a circle looking over the terrain.
"Hey Mucor, about how far away would you say those mountains were?" Gaelin asks after he informs the group of Rowan's reply. Realizing he is left with Jinara, Mucor and Valeera after Aryn and Torq dash off. He will discuss with Mucor his thoughts hoping to Help Mucor in finding an accurate distance.

"Hmmm...." Mucor would ponder as he looks towards the mountains... "well...." (Survival 19) "We are near this old dried up riverbed... and I think we are... a distance away from the mountains" The elf would say as he scratches the back of his neck.
As Valeera prepares to land Aryn and Torq sweep the area for threats. The forest line seems clear of wildlife and the distinct flowers of the toxic vines. Satisfied with her search Aryn hops down to the ground and begins to prowl the area examining the many stones that lie on the ground while Torq takes to the skies and continues his observation from above. While Aryn tediously begins looking under and behind the large rocks, digging shallow holes and trenches, Mucor and Gaelin discuss the distant crystal mountains. Mucor, with his keen eyes and used to living in the wilds is able to determine that the mountains are between 35-40 miles away.
Aryn- depending on how much time you dedicate to your search you find:
5-15 minutes: Multiple tiny raw emeralds (200gp) and three small raw emeralds with a total cost of 500gp.
15-30 minutes: Lots of tiny emeralds (400gp), Five small raw emeralds (650 gp total) and one large raw emerald (500gp)
1 hour: A ton of tiny emeralds (750gp), 10 small raw emeralds (1500gp), 4 large raw emeralds (2000gp total) and one giant emerald worth 2500gp.
The tiny emeralds are about a 1/2 inch long and 1/4 inch thick hexagonal crystals. The small emeralds are about an inch long and 1/2 inch thick. The large emeralds are broken chunks that are roughly an inch long and inch wide and the giant emerald is about 2 inches wide and an inch and a half thick. You assume these gemstones have traveled down stream from the large crystalline mountains to the south.
Gaelin will send what he hopes is the last message he'll have to send for the day to Rowan. "We're 35 to 40 miles from the mountains on a dry river bed next to the river."
Depending on Rowan's answer Gaelin will walk over and assist his sister. "Find anything good yet?"
"Stay put. I'll be there shortly." Rowan replies. You pass the next 15 minutes looking at rocks and enjoying the warmth of the sun against your skin until Torq spots a large eagle in the distance making its way towards you. A minute or two passes as the eagle fast approaches following the river and begins to slow once it gets within a couple hundred feet. The large brown eagle with green and golden highlights lands about 40 feet away from the group and transforms into a slender dark skinned wood elf dressed in tight leather armor. She stands about 6 feet tall with a green hooded cloak draped across her back and gnarled wooden staff in her hand. Her hair a wavy brown mass that falls down to her shoulder hides the leather pauldrons that cause her slender frame to appear slightly bulkier than it truly is. She bows and stands with a sweet smile and walks hastily with open arms to hug Valeera's human form. The two bodies meet and hold tightly to one another, their wordless smiles and embrace encompassing a thousand words.
The two separate and Rowan says in a sweet voice, "Hello. I am Rowan. Welcome to the feywild. Thank you for keeping Valeera safe... Are you ready to travel back to our village?" she asks after looking over each of the party members and settling back on Valeera.
Aryn- You've been at the river bed for about 30 minutes. If you stay another 10 minutes, with Gaelin's help you would be able to get the full hour's findings.
"Incoming." Torq calls out to the group as soon as he sees the eagle then land and bow to Rowan. "I'm ready, I don't know about them." Torq says motioning to Gaelin and Aryn.
"Just a few more minutes." Aryn replies face down and bent over looking at the ground as if she were a kid. After another 10 minutes of searching she'll stand up and dust herself off before walking over and extending her dirt covered hand to Rowan, "Hello Rowan. I'm Aryn. Pleasure to meet you. I'm ready to go when y'all are."
"I would be very interested in seeing your village, thank you." Mucor would reply with a nod... trying his best to imitate the elven movements of Rowan.
"Likewise. Sorry for the sporadic communication... Let's go." Gaelin adds excitedly taking care to clean himself a bit more than Aryn before bowing to Rowan.
"Well met everyone. Please follow me." she says and walks casually to a large tree, "This one will do." and begins a large swirling motion over the bark casting a familiar spell. Rather than the bark ripping open from the center into a portal, the outer line of her oval shape lights up on the bark and creates a glowing oval that flashes and becomes a swirling green mass of arcane energy that clears a half second later and you see small structures in the dimly lit distance through the portal. "Step through quickly please." she says as you rush through the portal and exit in a cooler and darker section of the feywild.
The village is set in a dense, dim lit forest. The evergreen trees and towering birch trees shade the area from the setting sun with their canopies. Orange and red silkworms glow shading the cool dark village in an amber light and give the leaves autumn hues. The majority of the homes are constructed around the trunks of trees while stilted wooden pathways protect the roots of the trees from being trampled. The thatch and leaf roofs seem to blend in perfectly with the treebark and make the tree trunk appear bloated. Other stone structures sit on the outskirts but none appear to be larger than a small home. Various dark skinned elves move about the pathways minding to themselves but there are the occasional glances as you make your way to Rowan's cottage.
"Welcome to Mithrend Vale." Rowan says in a soft voice. "I see some of you have tangled with the spider lily vines. Come, I have an ointment that will soothe the itch." and following closely behind Rowan leads you through the outer edge of the small village to a stone and wood home surrounded by a garden of herbs and flowers. Rowan opens the door and you find the home stocked with plants and vials of various shapes and colors. A wooden table and two chairs sits in a small living area while a brick and stone oven heat the humble abode. Rowan grabs a large flask of pale green paste and that she pulls out with two fingers and gently rubs onto the small red bumps that appear on Gaelin and Aryn. The paste is cool and refreshing and within a few seconds you feel a small tingling sensation. A few more seconds pass then warmth spreads over the area as the paste becomes hard and starts to turn brown. "It's removing the poison. The process only takes a few minutes. Without treatment those bumps would burst in a day or two and knock you for a loop a second time."
"Thank you... Such a dangerous place this is, but so beautiful." Aryn says carefully looking over the patched areas of paste then looking around the room at all the vials and items. "How long have you been here?" she asks
"Thank you Gaelin... Valeera has told me much about you... about each of you. Yes, this place though beautiful has many dangers. You must be quite capable to have survived this long. I've been a part of this village for about 100 years now. Before that I lived in a small cottage a few miles away for about 80 years. So Valeera, where have you been all this time?" Rowan replies placing the flask back on a shelf and grabbing a few small cups. "That's a bit of a long story." Valeera responds. With a flick of her wrist vines sprout from the floor and form interwoven couches and chairs in a circular form. "Please have a seat." Rowan says gesturing you to sit. Valeera begins recanting the events that occured after she left the feywilds, the sieges, the tower explosion, more sieges and escorts. Throughout the retelling Rowan tends to the group and conversation bringing you a sweet honeysuckle tea and small ginger infused crackers that blend perfectly together. "It is a custom of my people, to share a ritual meal on special occasions to create eternal bonds of friendship. This meal is an ancient recipe, one that brings good fortune and clarity to those who are virtuous... However, it is fatal to fiends, devils and any who have allowed wickedness to take hold of their heart. The choice to participate is up to you." Rowan says at the conclusion of the tower explosion as she hands out the crackers and ceramic cups of tea. "Oh good. I was hoping you had more of these." Valeera says excitedly grabbing a cup of tea and hand full of crackers.
(Geez today has been packed. Sorry everyone.)

"They might piss themselves" Aryn chuckles to Mucor. "Probably best to leave them in fear though. They may come in handy later if we need them."
