Aryn- You see no signs of any hidden items but you do come across a single gold coin that had apparently fallen behind the dresser. Quentin does seem to be genuine in his statement of providing for Daisy.
Quentin looks at Mucor and for the first time, pulls away his hood. The once pristine chiseled face and hair are now replaced by a bruised eye, and dishelved hair. "I have given up everything to keep Daisy safe. My time, my body... my life. The laws I break are the laws the elite created against morality." he says opening his shirt to reveal a large fresh scar along his ribcage. "I protect the farmers'... business... from the elite who plot against them and wish to keep them beaten down. I try everyday to give back hope to their families that will never be good enough to walk these streets like you and I. In exchange for my help the farmers provide us a barn to hide in, food from their livestock and a small amount of coin. Are we innocent of crime, no. Are we innocent from justice, I believe so."
As you converse with Quentin, Aryn you receive the message from your brother.
"What laws have you broken? What laws are oppressing the people that you have been helping?... I need to know if Onam going to fix things." Mucor would say with a sigh.
Quentin informs you that the farmers have been growing, harvesting and selling " exotic crops" on the side to afford the taxes set on them. Quentin escorts these exotic crops across the Lural kingdom bouncing from town to town. With each successful delivery, he stays for a couple weeks to build up a reputation and scout out the locals before returning here. He opens up a bit more revealing that the business has many competitors and recently there was a territory dispute that led to a deadly battle, nearly killing Quentin. He is skeptical that you two can help but open to the idea of a reprieve from the dangerous path he has chosen. He is scheduled to escort another supply in a few days.
(Hey everyone, sorry for the delay. I had a very busy weekend but I'm back. No need to worry. I spoke with Torq, Gaelin and Aryn today and they are all still in. I think splitting the party and going deep into RP has caused things to stagnate a bit. That's my fault I should be quicker in responding but I want you guys to be able to flesh out your characters.)
Aryn listens to Gaelin's message and replies back, "All good here. Mucor found an old friend. Nothing to worry about. May be back tomorrow but not sure yet."
"So you're a hired hand to drug dealers... well, it's better than stealing and killing regular townsfolk I guess." she says then looks at Mucor expectantly with a gentle smile. This was his friend and his journey. She would support him in whatever he chose, but he needed to make the decision on his own. She wasn't going to provoke or direct him any further.
Mucor would let out a heavy sigh. "What If i were able to convince the local lord to lower the taxes... or at least tax the farmers fairly while also increasing the quality of the land so that they are able to grow much more bountiful crops? if I did that, Would the farms be able to quit growing these "exotic plants"? The elf would ask with a look of concern. "it might take me a while but I could enrich the land so that their farms produce twice the normal amount of crops for an entire year." He would say as he locks eyes with Quinten and pauses a moment. "But If I do this... for you.. as a favor to a friend. I need something from you. I need for you and Daisy to come with me and leave here... at least for a short time." He would say sternly.
"To go where?" Quentin asks defensively. "What could you possibly do to convince the elite here? You're just another adventurer. The farmers would probably want you to use that to help their other crops grow faster. I'm in too deep. They'd find us and kill us if we left." Quentin's face goes a bit pale as he puts up his guard and eyes you cautiously.
(@Mucor & Aryn- that's one failure and one success thus far.)
"To go to Daybreak! Because I am a light bringer and so is Aryn and you should have been too!. And I guess if the farmers would rather grow their illegal crops than live an honest life maybe I shouldn't help them." Mucor would reply as he feels his face turn red in frustration
The fear in Quentin's eyes increases and you see an expression you can only connect to shame pass across his face. "I.... I didn't know. I was scared... I just wanted to have fun. I wasn't ready. The elite may listen to you but the farmers are in too deep. They enjoy their small empire. Many of them are beginning to dress and act like the elite they despise. If you can guarantee our safety then I'll talk to Daisy about leaving." he says sheepishly.
"Well then screw the greedy farmers. You don't need to be risking your lives for them. If they have so much money, than they can hire someone else to do their dirty work." Mucor would reply... now breathing heavily through his nose, occasionally snorting like he used to as a minotaur. "We didn't come to town looking for you and daisy... we have our own business to attend too and when we are finished.." The elf would try to calm himself down, his back heaving up and down. After a few moments he could continue. "And when we are finished, I would like to bring both you and daisy back to daybreak. We can offer you both honest well paying jobs and comfortable places to stay. Then once you are settled and have earned a bit of coin we can talk talk about your future. I promise that as long as you are with us you and daisy will be safe."
Quentin, now completely disarmed in the face of the overwhelming compassion and power of Mucor lowers his head. "Alright...let's go get Daisy. It's late now anyway and her shift should be ending soon. We can't stay here though. We need to stay somewhere else. The people here know me. If they find out our plans they'll try to track us down and stop us." he says as he stands and walks towards the door. You follow him outside where the sun is almost setting causing the temperature to drop drastically colder. Your stomachs groan a bit as the cold wakes up your suppressed hunger. You mount up and make your way back to the Black Boar tavern. You sit and are waited on by Daisy who initially looks a bit pale but her color returns when she sees the peaceful demeanor of Quentin. You eat and wait another hour before Daisy's shift ends making plans on where to stay.
(Aryn & Mucor- you remember the Lionheart inn (upper class establishment for diplomats and others of high standing) or Giant's Bane tavern (middle-upper class for the more adventurous elite) as recommendations for lodging from Lily in the tower.)
Gaelin, Jinara & Torq- you each make your way to bed, some finding sleep easily while others struggle to repress the excitement of the coming day's adventures. Regardless, fatigue wins out and you all eventually find rest. You awake to a cold day, a small overnight dusting adds a powdery layer of fresh snow that occasionally gets whipped into the air with the wind. You all collect back at the dining hall and prepare to depart.

(Hi All. just checking in to see if everyone was ok. it got quiet and I got sad thinking everyone was gone :( )
"What laws have you broken? What laws are oppressing the people that you have been helping?... I need to know if Onam going to fix things." Mucor would say with a sigh.
Mucor and/or Aryn, make a DC 15 persuasion check!
If you succeed:
Quentin informs you that the farmers have been growing, harvesting and selling " exotic crops" on the side to afford the taxes set on them. Persuasion: 18
Aryn listens to Gaelin's message and replies back, "All good here. Mucor found an old friend. Nothing to worry about. May be back tomorrow but not sure yet."

Mucor- make a persuasion or intimidation check, your choice!
OOC: I suck at both! 2
(Yay, I get to do something. No worries @xtra. This is awesome and it's not even my character.)
Gaelin looks back to Jinara and the others and says, "Everything is fine there. Let's get some rest and reconvene in the morning."
"To go where?" Quentin asks defensively. "What could you possibly do to convince the elite here? You're just another adventurer. Mucor or Aryn- Roll intimidation or Persuasion with advantage.
Quentin looks up at the two of you, somewhat in disbelief but also in fear.
Mucor persuasion! 15
The fear in Quentin's eyes increases and you see an expression you can only connect to shame pass across his face. "I.... I didn't know. I was scared... I just wanted to have fun. I wasn't ready. Mucor- make a final persuasion/ intimidation check with advantage.
(OOC: I REALLY wish my persuasion was not crap! Can I guidance myself... LIke have Mucor just start muttering to himself in Minotaur and cast guidance
Persuasion! 11 plus guidance if allowed? 4
(Not even needed.)
