You take about 20 minutes to catch everyone up on your progress before heading back down the tunnels towards the library. The climb through the tunnels is just as arduous but the excitement of potential discoveries spurs you forward rapidly. When you arrive you are greeted by a different clerk and informed to wait for master Epos to arrive. A few minutes pass by and while the new comers stare in awe at the gigantic layout of the library, Jinara and Aryn each focus on their own tasks at hand. When Epos arrives he is flanked by a male dragonborn dressed in golden and purple robes. The ornate and layered dress denotes he holds an elevated position, you assume as part of some temple or diplomatic seat. The black dragonborn bows his head slightly and introduces himself. "I am Jaraxis, servant of Bahumaat. I believe one amongst you wished to speak with me. When told it was a member of the lightbringers, how could I refuse such an opportunity to meet such esteemed guests to our islands." he bows again looking over each of you. Epos steps forward and adds, "I have made arrangements for you to access the archives. Tables have been prepared and relics pertaining to your requests have been found and laid out for your examination. If you all would be so kind to permit me a moment to reiterate the rules..." he says and goes through the list of guidelines regarding the handling of relics, organization of tables and assigned seating, and lastly the punishments for any breach of the rules. "If there are no objections, I will guide the rest of you there."
Jinara- make a persuasion check for your conversation with Jaraxis.
Everyone else- Make investigation checks. (This will be a group DC average)
Jinara graciously steps forward and bows in a similar reverence and says "Greetings. I am the individual requesting an audience. Please allow me to opportunity to speak with you in private for moment while my fellow lightbringers get settled into the library."
(Xtra: as we walk, I want to small talk a bit about how Jaraxis became a servant, how long he has been on the island, where his lineage stems from as a dragonborn. My intention is gain insight into his motivations to see if there is anything of concern before I reveal things about our intentions. Insight 25 )
(wherever is most private and if no concerns on personality or intentions) "Please allow me to thank you again for meeting with me. Epos speaks highly of the great Bahumaat and felt our discussion today was one worth having. We are here researching the cataclysm, the players involved, and some uh personal elements about the whole thing. I know Bahumaat was an active member of the metallic dragons who fought against Neltharion. I would love to know more about your deity in general, motivations, relations with other deities. On a deeper note, does your order have any knowledge around divine reincarnation? "
...conversation progresses... (persuasion 29) (I will post more after your response Xtra)
Jinara- Jaraxis reveals he was born to a well off family that pushed for him to be a soldier rather than a temple priest. This wasn't easy for his family to absorb until he grew up through the ranks. He's always been fascinated with his heritage and looks to Bahumaat for most of his answers. His bold and quick responses do not give you any indication of deceit. Jaraxis appears to be what most would call an open book. "You're welcome, and might I return the thanks from our civilization for your groups efforts in ending the conflict with the drekthar. The cataclysm was a terrible war but one that brought along our birth. Bahumaat seeks fairness, truth and order. He directly opposes the chaotic and evil desires of the chromatic dragons and deities. This is why he aligns himself with Davara, Gillethe and Xaos. That is not to say he opposes all other deities, but he shares the same outlook on the lives of mortals." his face changes slightly and his eyes narrow at you when you speak of divine reincarnation. "I have heard of such gifts being bestowed upon mortals. Those of your race in particular. There is not much difference between the dragonborn and the Aasimar. Both were created by the magic of the gods. Some honorable and good, others evil and bloodthirsty... " he pauses gauging your response to this and adds, "Your actions have proved you honorable Jinara. Those chosen to be worthy of such a reincarnation have been blessed with another chance at life... Though you seem to have an inner conflict that you struggle with. Tell me, who or what troubles even you, a powerful child of the gods?"

Mucor would follow along with his companions, asking to be filled in on everything he has missed while confronting his old friend, discovering his family, and failing to revive his father. Once in the large library, mucor would look at the artifacts and books with amazement and curiosity. Sitting at one of the tables, he would mutter to himself. "alright fire spirit.. help me out but don't burn anything... I don't want to cause trouble for my friends" he would whisper as he asks for guidance. As he does his eyes would flicker with a green flame for just a second as he looks over the items in front of him.
(My fault friends! Had friend with some pretty significant issues that needed my attention this weekend. I'm back!)
"Your words are well received Jaraxis. I am blessed and honored at the gift of a second chance. My lady Davara has been most gracious to me in this life. Inner conflict is somewhat self-imposed. My memories of my previous life were taken from me for my entire life as an aasimar. It was not until recently I learned that my previous life was that of a metallic dragon named Seregos aligned with Bahumaat in the cataclysm. I fell in the great battle and my actions in that skirmish led to my reincarnation. My hope is to learn of a way to communicate Bahumaat directly not being an acolyte or priest of your order. I understand the alignment with my lady, but my expertise lacks in the area of divine communication outside of her. Is there way that meeting or conversation could occur with Bahumaat directly? (informs of the vital intel relative to Neltharion's return) Epos believes there is a need greater than the resources we have to address the pending conflict. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated." Jinara says with reverence and sincerity

Torq was not the reading type but he would do whatever he could to try and help the others. He was grateful for the others allowing him into their lives and knew this new threat was just as dangerous as Daegon had been.

Jaraxis Insight: 19 If greater than 20- Divine Intervention: 39
Jinara- you watch Jaraxis' demeanor change from respect to almost reverence as you convey your history. "Seregos... If I may..." he says and closes his eyes for a moment and calls out a small prayer to Bahumaat. His eyes open with a sincere look of pity towards you and he says, "I'm sorry. Bahumaat did not reply. You say you fell during the great battle. Do you remember where about you were in relation to the islands? Perhaps if we could find your former body it may bring back more memories or allow for a closer connection. I'm truly at a loss. I can try to commune with Bahumaat but I don't know how successful that would be. I've never thought about using it to ask questions for another person... but I am willing to try." Jaraxis' head appears to lower slightly as he talks almost as if bowing. When you speak of Netharion's return his head raises and eyes meet your with a look of terror. "Neltharion is a being of immense power. For the gods and Bahumaat to have only banished him rather than kill him should speak enough to that. If you are searching for a manner of destroying him, you will need Bahumaat's aid. I will endeavor to assist in this information reaching him. If you are familiar with Legend Lore it may be of some aid as well. Perhaps even in discovering your past." he adds.
Aryn & Gaelin- On your table you have an old stone tablet with numerous draconic inscriptions. Aryn uses her helm to comprehend the language while Gaelin reads. "Fallen dragons of the great battle record 12 of 27." is the heading of the stone tablet. The names of various dragons appear to be written on the tablet as well as some having small obituaries for what you assume are more renowned dragons. You stop on one name that seems to take up the majority of the tablet with it's obituary. "Seregos-Gold dragon, servant of Bahumaat. Chosen as one of the guardians of Bahumaat, Seregos fought in the battles of the Hurad Peaks, Ice Tempest, Groaning Winds, Juscar Mountains, and Cataclysm where he fell defending Bahumaat. In the great battle above Monsigneus, Seregos killed 41 chromatic dragons including Raikyrth the black."
Mucor & Torq- Everything in front of you is written in a foreign language and appears too old to be of use.
(cool. Technical question for ya Xtra. If I cast a spell like scrying into my ring of spell storing, would a person wearing the ring other than me be able to use their knowledge to cast that spell? My initial thoughts are yes since they are releasing the spell, but I wanted to ask as this is a bit if a nuance)
(Yes, for a spellcaster it's no problem. For example, Gaelin, Mucor or Iris would not need to make a check but Aryn or Torq would need to make a DC15 spell casting check using their INT, WIS or CHA.)
Gaelin will look up from the tablet and ask, "Do you have the other records? I see this is only number 12 of 27. Also who is Seregos? He seems to be quite important in the battles."
(I went back through and Jinara never told us his name. If he would have and we jsut glossed over it that's cool too.)
"yes.... I don't think I will be of much help." Mucor replies with a whisper. "I don't know much about dragons and am not the greatest reader anyway... even when it is in a language I understand." he adds as he backs away from the very old artifacts as though not wanting to break anything.
(ok. since a long rest has occurred, my spell list has changed. No retcon needed, but know I prepared legend lore and planar ally)
"I can write down my questions if that would make your commune with Bahumaat easier." Jinara says.
#1 - Is Seregos' physical body on the volcano?
#2 - Is there a pillar holding Neltharion to the Shadowfell on this city?
#3 - Is Antonidus alive today?
"I do know that spell. Given your connection with Bahamuut, would you be willing to assist in its casting?" Jinara says as he pulls out his crystal amulet. He begins to focus and casts Legend Lore on the name Seregos.
I am going to cast it once more, but by myself but focus it on Antonidus. I am spending 7 sp to get the 5th level spell slot for it.
(I have an additional item depending on the discoveries of Legend Lore.)
Aryn writes down notes and looks up to see Torq and Mucor. Her heart thumps heavily when she looks at Mucor and she can't help but smile. She returns to her writing and waits for Epos to answer Gaelin's questions.
Aryn, Gaelin, Mucor & Torq- Epos nods though he has a curious look on his face and says, "Jinara instructed me to search for the name Seregos. You would need to ask him the importance of the name. I have only done what was requested. We have 13 of the 27 records. Numbers, 1, 2, 4, 7, 8, 10, 12, 16, 18, 21, 23, 25, and 26. I can have our archivists collect and bring those one by one if you wish to study them."
Jinara- Jaraxis nods and says, "Thank you. I will do what I can." he says and casts Guidance on you then sits next to you and begins casting Commune while you cast Legend Lore. You remain focused on your own spell but hear him ask each of your questions then go silent as he waits for you to finish your spell. As you finish your first casting Jaraxis comments, "Your body is not on the volcano. There is no pillar here that holds Neltharion to the shadowfell plane, but Anotnidus is alive." he says feeling pity for the mostly bad news. His voice raises slightly at the end in hopes to instill a bit of courage.
Seregos- Seregos the Bold was one of seven chosen champions and protectors of Bahamut (just realized I've been spelling this wrong for ages.). Seregos was the youngest of four gold dragon brothers born to Hazilegosa (mother): Viryngos, Arragos, Calragos and Seregos (Eldest to youngest)
Antonidus- Antonidus is an archmage who once held a place among the Seven, but was removed due to fears of his death and disappearance.
"Jaraxis, I thank for everything you have assisted with this morning. I feel it is time to return to the libraries and continue our research. I bid you farewell and hope nothing but safety in the coming days." Jinara says
He makes his way to the library and joins the rest of the group. Upon arriving he asks Epos "Can you pull me any information on the names Viryngos, Arragos, Calragos, or Hazilegosa in addition to anything the group is already researching." (I believe Aryn asked for Antonidus, but I will also mention it upon my return to the library)
