The first thing through the door is greeted by an arrow, after which Elber drops his bow to draw the sword and charge forward into battle. "By the elders!"
((Action: Sharpshooter attack (-5 to hit, +10 damage): 9 Damage: 18 Bonus action: Rage Move into melee while drawing the greatsword. Hopefully damage resistance saves me.))

((bed time here, and every morning I wake up to a lot having happened, so to keep things flowing for you all here will be Duncan's first turn. Assuming he's still standing of course... his damn initiative was below the monsters))
Action: Attack the nearest, full health, mob: Attack: 7 Damage: 9
That looks almost certain to hit ((it feels unlikely that level 1 mobs would have 18+ AC)). If that mob didn't die he'll bonus action attack it. If it did die this bonus action attack will go to any injured mobs nearby, or if none exist, anything nearby
If those attacks kill everything near him he'll use his movement to approach any near any friends. Otherwise he'll hold his ground near whatever is already there.
((So still waiting for Kai's initiative to see where he goes in the order, but as Kev has done will post making certain assumptions in the hopes of easing flow))
Landrae will cast Faerie Fire (violet light) at the first monster through the door. That should give everyone after me in the order advantage on attacks.
Then ready her bow and use her movement to back away from the ensuing melee.
((@ JJ - Could you give us a bit more description about the current positioning as far as you see it? Is Duncan in a position to hold the door? Are all half dozen (6) monsters in the room as we roll initiative, or coming in?))

Jack’s face goes from youthful wonder and excitement to scared and horriified in a blink of an eye. He musters all his courage and jumps forward with his rapier to the nearest ‘thing’ that poured out of the door. (Only within melee range of that one)
Attack roll w advantage: Attack: 17 Damage: 9
Sneak Attack damage if necessary since I have advantage: 6
Jack will then back up 10’ positioning himself between the children and Landrae
((@JJ - Glad my ascii art skills helped :-). Just a quick check - Faerie Fire reads as affecting creatures in a 20ft area, so does that affect our party members too, dependant on the dex save?))
As Landrae casts her spell, she shouts out "Let there be light... and ugly glowy things! These children must have broken a few mirrors to have ended up this gruesome!"

Judging by the room size Elber, Jack, and Duncan will all have to make Dexterity Saves.
Monstrosity 1 Dexterity Save: 5
Monstrosity 2 Dexterity Save: 2
Monstrosity 3 Dexterity Save: 6
Monstrosity 4 Dexterity Save: 15
Monstrosity 5 Dexterity Save: 19

If any party member is downed he will heal (according to who is bleeding most profusely) 11
If non, then he will attack the most damaged creature within reach: Scimitar To-Hit 16, Damage 7
