((It would depend on where the spell was centered. The map had all the oozes clustered together, so should have been possible to hit only them. But hitting the tank is a good way to assure that the mobs attack them and not you :P ))
((In fairness, I did say at the first mob through the door, so it would be about 5ft on our side by the time the door was off and the monsters were through. Seemed better than saying the other side of the door if they all came through.
Now, I am a little fuzzy on the rules. FF asks for a DC 13 Dex save, but does it add my spell casting modifier? It is moot here as those that pass make the check even with, but I am just curious.))
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
I usually conduct combat exclusively ToTM, and I find maps and overcomplicated mechanics to be a nuisance. This is not to say I don't adhere to the rules like glue at times, however. Being swarmed by a pack of slavering monstrosities probably includes Duncan, Elber, and Jack in any group effects.
The four remaining monstrosities commence their bloody assault.
((Aye kevtr0n, barely scratch on a raging Elber is the worst of it. By my count there will be one monster that doesn't have the violet glow of impending doom on them. Not sure which one, but hopefully they all die before they get another attack.))
((Not sure how we're all surrounded exactly... But if possible Duncan would try to kill any around Jack first to let him slip away, while keeping himself in the middle))
Seeing Elber shrug off their last attacks and retaliate to cleave one of his assailants clean through, Landrae shouts "Whoever kills the most cleans up after this!" then knowing Duncan is as hardy a warrior as they come, she sights her bow on the creature that attacked Jack, and lets fly an arrow.
Attack: 6 Damage: 5 (If this mob is glowing violet, then 20 is the 2nd roll for advantage)
Landrae and Jack fell the fifth monstrosity, and Kai mortally wounds the last one. Still gibbering weakly, it turns on Kai and bites. Attack: 8 Damage: 7
With the threat extinguished Elber investigates the room in which the horrors originated. It is a small stone chamber with no entrances besides the iron door. Chains hang from the walls and the floor and ceiling are stained with blood. The room is empty save for a few scattered bones.
Dex saving throw: 16
Dex save 17
