Kai collects his thoughts and takes a seat in the back of the wagon, concerned for, and looking out for wildlife. Rummaging in his pack, he takes out a slightly wrinkled apple and begins to eat.
After a few minutes of travel, you sight a covered wagon heading your way. It is directed by a stout dwarf in fine clothing. A luminous crystal amulet, visible even from this distance, glitters on his chest, and a harp is slung across his back. As you watch, several heavy coffers fall out from the rear of the wagon and land with a resounding thud. The dwarf hops down from the wagon, cursing and muttering under his breath.
Landrae sees the harp on the dwarf's back, and instantly warms to the grumpy little fellow. Having heard Elber's comments and feeling the others tense, she says "My turn... If it is a trap, I have the best rescue service in the region." She slows the wagon, dismounts, settles her lute across her back, and shouts ahead "Ahoy there harpist, how fares the road behind?"
The dwarf grumbles as he attempts to lift the coffer off of the ground. "Road my mother's beard. That 'road' has more bumps than a goblin with dragonpox. This is the third time today I've lost my cargo." He eventually falls down, gasping for breath. The coffer hasn't budged.
As this is in the way of their mission, Duncan will hop down, glaive over his shoulder, and walk over to the Dwarf, aware that this could be a trap, but hoping it's not. "This isn't a road to be so clumbsy on Dwarf."he'll say, setting his Glaive down, picking up the heavy coffers, setting them in the cart, and picking his glaive back up again. "Have you seen any others?" he'll ask "...or anything near a road that splits off not far from here?"
((yeah... I was kinda hoping a man with 16 str could lift something given time is not an issue, that's why I didn't roll. It only is asking for a chance of failure... which happened.))
'Had some help from a man named Ordan. He took his leave a couple miles back. Said he had business to attend to or summat. " The dwarf replies, honestly as far as Elber is concerned. "I'm Rinarv the Harper, by the way." He bows and retrieves his harp from his back with one swift motion. "I'll make you a deal: A tune for some help with my baggage."
(Rolls usually make things more fun, and seeing as the dwarf has so much trouble lifting it I thought it would be a little unlikely that Duncan could come along and pick it up. Regardless, it is a two-person task.)
